Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Henry has been up every 60-90 mins for around 30 mins all night. All night!! I'm so tired, and ds1 will be up in 30 mins for nursery.

and ive started bleeding again. Could cry

TobyLerone · 30/01/2014 08:08

Could you put the curtains up, MrsV? I know it's not the point, but sometimes I find it's better for me to feel smug productive and do things myself, rather than feeling helpless and cross waiting for someone else to do them/have them do things wrong.

TobyLerone · 30/01/2014 08:09

:( frying. Hope you can get a bit of a rest while DS1 is at nursery.

MrsVDB · 30/01/2014 09:15

toby I did our bedroom ones yesterday but the living room and front room have 3m poles (which also need putting up, drilling holes etc) which is tricky on my own. Also need to get in loft to get curtains down which I struggle with

AnotherStitchInTime · 30/01/2014 09:30

MrsV would threatening that you will hire someone in to do the jobs do the job, sometimes the thought of unnecessary money being spent can motivate.

frying I know how you feel. Dd2 woke up at 1am then was up until 2.30am as she is not well and her coughing keeps waking her up. Mason woke at 3.30am. Dd1 woke at 4am. Mason woke at 4.30am, fed for half an hour, by the time I had changed his nappy it was nearly 5.30am. He then woke at 6.30am. 7am the alarm for getting dd1 up went off. AAARGH Confused

AnotherStitchInTime · 30/01/2014 09:31

Spot my typo, can you tell I am tired?!

TobyLerone · 30/01/2014 09:35

Ugh, yeah. Putting curtain poles up by yourself is not recommended. I do pretty much all the DIY in our house and I had to wait for DH to help me with putting up our bedroom curtain track just because it was too long to do alone.
And stay out of the loft!

TobyLerone · 30/01/2014 09:36

Oh, another, that sounds like the worst night ever!

enormouse · 30/01/2014 10:43

MrsV what about asking a family member? I find dp becomes very productive when I suggest asking his dad to do diy/fix something.

Well things have kicked off here. Contractions started at about 4.30 this morning but I took some paracetamol and stuck the IT crowd on and managed to get back to sleep. When I woke up my plug had gone but contractions had stopped. Have rang delivery suite but need to stay put till waters go or contractions become more regular.

TobyLerone · 30/01/2014 10:50

Hope it's not too long for you, enormouse.

MrsVDB · 30/01/2014 11:01

Unfortunately I have tried everything. After a year of renovating and his job becoming more stressful he's just not motivated to do anything. I feel more positive this morning though so will stop moaning and crack on!

another that sounds awful. You must be shattered

enormouse very exciting :) good luck

Frizz1986 · 30/01/2014 11:29

Wow some bad nights last night. I had quite a good one with aurelia only waking to feed. We got her Ewan the dream sheep which arrived yesterday so i dont know if thats why she has slept better. Hoping so as would be nice to think she could start sleeping better from now on.
Still trying with my bf after the start of latching problems. Am determined to get better at it but find it really frustrating some times.

Hv has been and aurelia is now 8lbs 9!!! 8lbs 9!!! Thats 14 oz in 9 days. No more visits until 3 months as they are happy how things are going. Asked about the rash and she thinks its just acne and to wash with water and dry properly but said to say to the gp when i go to my 6 week check next week. Also the white on her tongue seems to have lessened and she thinks it looks like milk, will mention it to gp too (think they might be annoyed as only supposed to deal with one thing per appointment at my gp and the appointment is technically for me but i aint getting the bus again if i am already going)

mrsv no way should you be up in the loft! I find my dh can be very useless doing things. Even now when i am tied up feeding baby and he offers to take the plates out, he just puts them on the side instead of in the dishwasher.

He seems to make a lot of comments that he has been at work all day as well which bugs me. Especially as if he has her and she starts crying he gets frustrated as he cant stop her, well i deal with that all day! He says he doesnt mean to imply that his job is harder than mine but he does sometimes. Then last night he came home and wolfed his tea down not even finishing a mouthful before shovelling in the next so i told him to slow down and at least look like he appreciated me cooking it. He then decided to stop eating all together and then didnt finish it. Grrrrr.

Yay enormouse really hope that the ctx ramp up and you have snuggles very soon indeed. Oooo i want more babies to arrive!

fryingpantoface · 30/01/2014 12:01

Good luck enormouse

ouch another sounds tough! Ive tried to go back to sleep but it didn't go well, just cant drop off.

took ds1 to nursery and everyone fawned over him and Henry. Apparently ds1 talks about Henry all the time which is lovely.

the mw is coming between 3 and 4, then H will be weighed again. I'm going to ask about the bleeding. It keeps stopping and then starting again when I get stressed. I didn't realise it would link so much. I knew if i did too much it would link.

chocoholicalcoholic · 30/01/2014 12:26

Hello, may I re-join you all? I posted briefly on the early threads then kinda drifted to lurking due to life getting in the way (how dare it!?). I don't know if any of you remember me, I didn't contribute a great deal, I pretty much moaned about sickness, nausea, headaches... (Sorry!)

Congratulations to all of you that have had your babies and good luck to you all still waiting.

My little baby girl decided to join us 13 days late. She was born at home rather quickly and is settling in a treat. DD3 for us. She's now 18 days old and I'm still in my little bubble, anyone else? I literally take my older two to school then sit my butt on the sofa until pick up time just watching her, reading, eating etc. Basically avoiding housework, paperwork, chores and everything else that hints at real life! Must get my act together soon but just enjoying this newborn/lazy cow time. Grin

MrsVDB · 30/01/2014 12:30

Welcome back choco

So think I just had a tiny bit of plug come out either that or yucky discharge!! yeay :) hopefully that means stuff is happening and they might be able to do my sweep tomorrow and avoid induction on Sunday!! Ok maybe I'm being a bit optimistic but at least something's happening

TobyLerone · 30/01/2014 12:34

I remember you, chocoholic. Welcome back and congratulations :) what did you call her?

Fingers crossed, MrsV!

curlywurlyllass · 30/01/2014 13:53

Frizz I made the 6week gp appointment for me and James when booking it. Then health visitor said the gp wouldn't be able to do James's checks as she wouldn't have passed on her notes (HV doesn't do her 6week check until 6 weeks after EDD- James will be 10weeks when she does her check up)
My GP had no issues doing both our checks together and I asked loads of questions

On topic of sore bums:James had a sore yin since starting poo's, midwives and HV's all said it was a birthmark causing the red welt and nappy changing has always been traumatic for him. Tried . Many creams and HV has suggested dunking his bum in a basin with bicarbonate of soda for a few minutes as the acidity from his urine could be irritating his wee bottom. Havnt tried it yet as sudocreme and conotrane seem to be working now

Hi choc, congratulations

Good luck mrsv and enormouse

enormouse · 30/01/2014 14:19

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. Contractions have been stop and start all afternoon with no real pattern to them. I got in touch with my community midwife and as she's running the local clinic today, she'll come and check me and baby over after it. Almost DMil will finish work early and take Ds around 4ish.

Don't actually know what to do know.

Good luck mrsv. If it helps my plug started to go Tuesday night and contractions started Wednesday. Fx for you. Smile

Trying out my sling today. really pleased with it but just need to keep an eye she doesn't get too hot. What do others dress their Lo's in when in stretchy wraps?

Naturegirl82 · 30/01/2014 14:26

welcome back choco

Frustrating for you enormouse but hopefully the mw will be able to tell you how you are getting on

Swannykazoo · 30/01/2014 14:26

frizz I'm finding Ewan the dream sheep utterly soporific but my LO remains a sleep refuser!
We're co-sleeping beside the babynest and I keep telling myself not to fret that Hugh's only slept in it for 2hours ever - any sleep trumps no sleep right? Keep thinking - "Tomorrow I'll try putting him down in the actual bednest" the tomorrow comes and I think "Bugger it, I'm tired, you're overtired, lets just try and get some kip and we'll try it tomorrow..."
Also- feeding to sleep -its that or no sleep so I'm trying hard not to envision the giant rod I'm making for my own back.....

TarkaTheOtter · 30/01/2014 14:29

Good luck enormouse and mrsv!

After being a dream baby all day yesterday, Alex didn't even cosleep well last night and every time I tried him in the crib he woke after about 3mins. He's 4 weeks now and I'm string to get a bit concerned that he has never slept for more than two hours at a time.
Dh is going to working away mon-thurs from next week and I have no idea how I'll cope doing nights on my own as dd still wakes in the night and starts the day before 6.

fryingpantoface · 30/01/2014 14:31

nature we took Henry out in it this morning.

he was just in his babygrow and vest with my coat around us both.

littleraysofsunshine · 30/01/2014 14:34
