Congratulations, purple!

Spacefrog35 · 24/01/2014 09:42

Alright thanks Toby Had a bit of a rough week last week (thank you to those who commented on here, it helped a lot) but feeling more positive again now.

Keep meaning to say welcome back sultana glad you're feeling a teeny bit more human Brew

TobyLerone · 24/01/2014 10:08

I'm glad you're feeling more positive. I think you're amazing!

Frizz1986 · 24/01/2014 12:05

Congrats only

Hi space. Sorry that you had a hard week, but glad that you are feeling more positive now. I agree with toby that you are pretty amazing.

Spacefrog35 · 24/01/2014 12:46

aww ladies - stop it you'll make me Blush.

No more amazing than any of the rest of you, just taking a deep breath and taking one step at a time, same as we all are Thanks

Mythreeknights · 24/01/2014 13:24

Felix, can you put a tiny tiny bit of prune juice in with her water? That would help, but not sure at what age that's ok.

Felix90 · 24/01/2014 15:31

Mythree we tried to get prune juice but the local asda doesn't sell it (wtf?!) so bought orange juice instead. She's done a couple of poos today but is still struggling to push so she must be pretty blocked up. Never thought I'd say this but I miss the runny breastfed baby poos Sad

Percypiglet · 24/01/2014 15:50

Still here........still contracting, still way too slow!

MrsVDB · 24/01/2014 16:12

percy any idea how dilated you are? How often are contractions?

I've had nothing at all today or yesterday, not even Braxton hicks or the mild cramps I was getting. Being overdue is such a different feeling to waiting for my due date. Very odd

enormouse · 24/01/2014 16:35

Hi everyone.

Thanks for coming back and updating us space.

felix I'd try any local ethnic supermarket (Indian/Bangladeshi etc) if you have any nearby?

Percy and MrsV - best of luck. I've had some pokey sensations again so I'm hoping something will happen soon. I have my fingers crossed for this weekend.

Dps mum has surprised us with some lovely clothes for the new baby. She had seen that I had got out and washed DSs snowsuit and she's gone and got us a new one for the baby. She thought it'd be nice for him to have his own special one to come home in. I only teared up a little bit.

She's also bought the exact romper suit I had my eye on as well as some slip ons and hats.

Good luck Percy, just try and rest up if they are still sporadic.

Well, I finally cried on my mw today....my boob was agony yesterday but better overnight and today albeit still red and inflamed. Even when feeding from other boom the let down reflex kicks in in the bad boob and I need to chew a rag or something to stop crying out. Anyhow, mw agreed it is mastitis and I burst out crying. Still in pjs and not managed any decent day time sleep as each time I put Lucy down she wakes with wind, until I give up and then she falls into a deep sleep but I am no longer in my bedroom or able to move her without her waking up. I feel a failure for my inability to sleep if that makes any sense, when my dh and mw are begging me to....I am bloody well trying ok!! Pity post over. In other news, Lucy has regained her birth weight in under a week. That does make me feel happy as at least something is going well.

TobyLerone · 24/01/2014 17:24

Oh, mythree, it's hard, isn't it? Mastitis is a bastard but at least you've caught it early-ish. Are you getting antibiotics? I really sympathise. I had it 3 times in a row with DS, with it eventually turning into an abscess which had to be drained under GA when DS was 3 months old, and ending BFing for us.
I'm paranoid about it now.

Will Lucy sleep in with you? Perhaps you might get a bit of sleep if you can feed her lying down?

Percypiglet · 24/01/2014 17:56

Hi all, been asleep as the contractions weren't getting closer together so "gave up" in my head. Oh well, now got to keep on going again!

My three hope the mastitis improves and you and baby get some sleep....

TobyLerone · 24/01/2014 18:03

It's frustrating, isn't it, percy? If they're real labour ctrx, they'll carry on whatever you do.

Angelesque · 24/01/2014 18:19

BHs have definitely been more painful last few days so keeping everything crossed body is prepping for labour! Zero regularity but paired with period-type cramps am hoping it means I don't go too far past my DD... Fingers crossed... The pics on the FB group are definitely making me more impatient, you're producing some incredibly cute babies you lit! Grin

Frizz1986 · 24/01/2014 20:27

Oh mythree its good to tear up sometimes and get it all out. I know what you mean about failing to sleep. Sorry that it is mastitis and i really hope that it clears up fast and stays away.

Hope ctx come back strong percy

I have been crying a lot this eve (i think its lack of sleep even though I had the best night last night) This bleeding is really bugging me as I seem to have the energy and drive to be doing things and I just dont feel I can as i am still bleeding red blood and dont want to make it worse by over doing it. Just makes me feel isolated as i dont have many friends locally and i dont have a car and with me still bleeding i dont feel I can walk far as it will make it worse. Just finding it really hard i guess and had a bit of a meltdown tonight after a poop explosion earlier (that required bubs to have a bath) and then i spilt the infacol all over her (cue another bath)

littleraysofsunshine · 24/01/2014 20:59

I'm still not on the fb group Sad xx

HabitualHobbyist · 24/01/2014 21:17

Can't believe how quickly this tread has moved on. Need to have a really good read through and see what's been going on this last week. Been trying to keep myself busy with planning my sister's hen party and with walks etc, to try bring this baby on.

Unfortunately nothing has worked (including two attempted stretch and sweeps) so I'm now in hospital, 10 hours into pessary number 1. DH just left for the night so going to try catch up on some sleep before things progress too far!

Also, had a scan on Wednesday as had a second episode of reduced movements. All well, but they're predicting baby to be around 8lb 14oz. Not sure if it's good knowing the size or not Confused.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 24/01/2014 21:43

Quick hello to say congrats nature and hope things get easier for you soon.

Knackered after first full day home, but delighted not to be stuck I that shit hole any longer (discharged myself in the end).

Love to you all, I'm about to join my daughter in a nap!

Naturegirl82 · 24/01/2014 21:59

Thanks space for the reassurance, it really made me feel better about how things were going. I hope things are ok for you and they continue to improve.

Had a good day today. Olivia was moved to hdu last night so was off o2 which was good news. But one of Olivia's results came back showing a possible infection so she had to have a lumbar puncture this morning to check for meningitis as a precaution, they don't think it is thankfully but just wanted to rule it out. But today we started breastfeeding, yay. She has taken to it well with a good latch and we were checked by a breastfeeding advisor this evening who said all looked good. She also had her kidney scan today and that all looks positive (looks like she may only have one kidney, but nothing needs to be done), still needs follow up scans but not for a few weeks. She is still on antibiotics but was allowed to move up to be with me on the ward this evening. So I'm sat in my room having lovely cuddles just the two of us for the first time since she was born Grin We will be in a few more days waiting for test results but all looking really good.

Percy good luck with the contractions fx they lead somewhere.

mythree hope the mastitis gets better quickly

Sorry if I've missed anyone

flyawayblue · 24/01/2014 21:59

Glad to hear you are home humpty

Hobbyest hope the induction goes well, I have one booked to start tomorrow morning (hopefully) as nothing happening here.

Hope the ctx continue and good luck to all those still waiting.

Sorry to hear about the sleeplessness and mastitis hope it clears soon.

frizz were you able to talk to your mw or hv about your bleeding as I know it's been worrying you. Hope they can offer some suggestions or advice.

flyawayblue · 24/01/2014 22:04

nature really happy to read that Olivia is now with you in the ward and you are getting time together. Scans and test results sound good too.

MrsVDB · 24/01/2014 23:21

Good luck hobby

nature sounds like she's making good progress. Fingers crossed for positive test results

Frizz1986 · 24/01/2014 23:56

nature sounds like she is doing loads better.

Good luck hobby

fly haven't spoken to anyone yet as thought I was doing ok with it and know it's normal to still bleed as only just over 4 weeks pp but think I have realised that it's keeping me from getting back to normal and settling with the whole mum role.
Well Aurelia had her first poop explosion today all over her clothes and now she has had her first sick up event all over our duvet! What a 1 month birthday!

MrsVDB · 25/01/2014 10:15

Good luck fly hopefully it's all started for you now

Good luck also percy and hobby if you're still going
