Wow Humpty that's quite a tale! Congratulations on the arrival of your little girl, and I hope you're feeling like you're on the road tot Eco very yourself.

I was about to write a woe-is-me post, but after reading that I have realised that you are right - whatever way they arrive, they all make it into our arms in the end. I can't wait to meet our daughter, and after a third sweep this morning, I am booked in to have my waters broken on Tuesday. Although I still have my fingers crossed that she will make her own way in the next 48hrs!

MrsVDB · 19/01/2014 08:03

Congratulations humpty another whopper! Sounds scary but glad it all turned out ok in the end :)

enormouse · 19/01/2014 08:10

Oh gosh humpty, very dramatic. Congratulations. And that's a beautiful (provisional) name.

As is Eva - that was on our list for a girl.

only agree completely. Good luck.

And good luck to mythree.

Sending restful thoughts, and luck to those being induced and hope those pesky babies get a move on or stay put for a little longer (depending on your inclinations) Smile.

Got up early and thought I'll have a nice cup of tea before starting work etc. But ds heard me getting out of bed and has started protesting that he wants to join me. It's like he has radar. No matter how quiet I'm trying to be, he can hear it.

Wow humpty sounds intense! Lots of congratulations!

Henry refuses to sleep in his basket at night, so we co-sleep. Dh fed him at 3.30 and didn't get any sleep after that. I've messaged mil asking of she can have ds1 today. I'm taking Henry to church with me so hopefully she'll be able to have ds1 so ds can sleep

Angelesque · 19/01/2014 08:22

Yay Humpty congratulations!! Beautiful name! Hope you are getting some well-earned rest - sounds like you need it!!

Naturegirl82 · 19/01/2014 08:32

Congratulations humpty, glad you are both safe and well and enjoying cuddles.

I've been up for a while. Baby wasn't moving much last night, tried all the usual tricks and got a few wiggles but she was quiet over night and only a few light wiggles this morning, so I'm just waiting till a reasonable hour to phone the mw. I've just got a horrible feeling that there is something wrong.

BookTart · 19/01/2014 08:34

Congratulations Humpty. The birth sounds hard, but I'm certain your lovely little(ish!) girl is more than worth it :)

BookTart · 19/01/2014 08:37

nature you poor thing, don't sit waiting if you're worried - can you phone the labour ward or maternity daycare, or maybe go straight up there?

Naturegirl82 · 19/01/2014 09:09

Off up to the fetal medical unit for monitoring. Not quite what I had planned for today.

AnotherStitchInTime · 19/01/2014 09:23

Congratulations humpty, glad you are ok and enjoying cuddles with your girl. I agree that when you hold them in your arms that the birth experience is eclipsed by your love for them.

nature I hope you and baby are ok

only not long now then :)

Off to SIL's today for niece's birthday. Absolutely shattered due to night cluster feeding. At least my girls will tire themselves out playing with their cousins while me and DH snooze on the sofa Wink

Toothfairy78 · 19/01/2014 09:34

Morning,

Just thought I'd have a peek at you all. Seems like it's all go go go!

Congrats humpty! Sorry it wasn't ideal but hey, whatever method gets used, it's just a means to a beautiful end eh? Looking forward to the piccies when you feel up to it. Xxx

Congrats to gobbo.

nature I hope the checks turn out ok today.

TobyLerone · 19/01/2014 09:54

Congratulations, humpty! You legend! Sounds like a nightmare.
Genevieve is beautiful :) I love that name, but I would only have used it if I could be certain it would be pronounced the French way and I know it wouldn't be. Beatrice is fab too, and is one of Meredith's middle names. Excellent choices!

nature, call the labour ward. They'll see you for monitoring any time.

HabitualHobbyist · 19/01/2014 10:12

Congratulations Humpty - quite some birth but as everyone has said, the important thing is that they arrive safely. Flowers

Nature you do absolutely right getting checked out. As soon as you see and hear their little heartbeat on the monitor, you'll relax and they'll start wriggling again. I'd offer you Wine but it's probably safest to stick to a Brew!

sarahleanne · 19/01/2014 10:27

Congratulations humpty! Sounds like a challenging birth but so worth it.

I'm having the most horrendous after pains on day 6 I've actually cried my eyes out this morning and dh rang labour ward who are sending out a mw to check my uterus and for infection . In so much pain I feel like I'm in labour again!

Percypiglet · 19/01/2014 10:46

Congrats Humpty , you got there in the end!! Well done. Lovely name, good weight!

Hope all is going well for everyone else.

MrsGSR · 19/01/2014 10:53

Congratulations humpty!

My waters broke in the shower yesterday (took me a second to work out why there was suddenly so much extra water!). Started getting contractions this morning, 8 minutes apart so could still be a while. I said from my BFP that something would happen on the 19th, should have put money on it!

flyawayblue · 19/01/2014 10:54

Congratulations humpty, sounds scary and very glad you are both safe and well. Hope you recover quickly and I love the names.

nature glad your going to get checked, always best to and I agree that once your on the monitor they will start to wriggle Smile

sarah how the mw's are able to check you over and your okay.

I've been visiting family near by this weekend as nothing happening here and still really uncomfortable.. Will see what the mw says tomorrow.

flyawayblue · 19/01/2014 10:54

Oh good luck mrsgsr

MrsVDB · 19/01/2014 11:01

nature I agree better to get checked, I'm sure it's nothing. I get very quiet days now too

mrsg how exciting! Good luck

sarah poor you, sounds awful

Dhs uncle is helping dh put up the last of the coving (yeay!) and I'm still in bed :) with 3 days to go I don't feel guilty like I used to

GummiBear74 · 19/01/2014 11:27

Wow humpty, that all sounds a bit scary. I'm so glad you're both safe and well, and her name is beautiful.

Congratulations also to gobbo and anyone else who has had their baby while I've been in my sleep-deprived haze. I've been reading along, but my brain is a little tired, sorry Blush

frizz, I'm really impressed that you've got Aurelia to settle in her basket now. Was there anything in particular that you did to persuade her? Annabel will NOT be put down at night, even on the bed, so we're doing shifts, but it's taking its toll now.

Naturegirl82 · 19/01/2014 11:32

Good luck mrsg

So been checked and everything is fine, baby is just in a position where although she is moving I can barely feel it, but heartbeat was doing everything it should. Glad I got checked as feel more reassured now. Hopefully next trip to the hospital I'll come back with a baby!

Swannykazoo · 19/01/2014 11:43

Hi all - I second gummi's request for the dark art of getting a baby to sleep in the basket from frizz Hugh's 4 weeks old today and has slept at night in his basket for 2 sets of two hours only and continues to ignore the lovely emergency bednest bought in a sleep-deprived haze. Am a very nervous co-sleeper but figure its safer than just falling asleep with him due to lack of sleep in an uncontrolled way.
Congrats to all the new mums & positive contracty vibes to those still waiting...

TobyLerone · 19/01/2014 11:48

We mostly co-sleep too. Last night I made a concerted effort to get Meredith to sleep in her crib. She was up every hour to feed. I gave in at 3am and brought her in with us.
I'm not stressing about it, though. All the time we're co-sleeping we're all getting a decent amount of sleep, so it's working for us.

BookTart · 19/01/2014 11:55

I'm co-sleeping with Persephone in her nursery and I'm nervous about it as well, but it is the only way either of us get any sleep as she can basically feed whenever she wants which appears to be all the time

BuntCadger · 19/01/2014 12:10

congratulations humpty Smile genevieve has always been a favourite name of mine.

re co sleeping, I have already got bed sheets etc ready so I will put duvet away. I Co slept with all of mine and every one of them different. Jessica would sleep with me for naps and she still falls asleep nursing but then would settle better in her cot adjacent to bed with my hand in with her, Samuel would sense if I moved too far and needed to be close and my eldest would sleep on me for part and in basket for part. just got to go with what works I reckon Wink
