Oh no, midwife has rung back and she seems a lot less friendly / fluffy than her colleague :( Damn can I phone back and say "Hello, could I have your colleague instead please?"
Will take hubby with me, will be less intimidating :)

Hi Ladies,

Mind if I join you? (nervously!)

A little unsettled right now and could do with some positive vibes Smile

I've just been for a dating scan as I was unsure of my dates due to not having a period since 11th November. Been in limbo-land since then until finally on Sunday I got a BPF on a Sainsburys. Then backed it up with a CB digi on Tuesday which said 1-2 weeks.

Well, the doc said she couldn't see anything on the scan. She said three reasons - 1, too early. 2, ectopic (which she ruled out) and 3, mmc - but as I've had no bleeding she said that was very unlikely.
So, the most obvious reason would be it's just too early. I was so hoping I had caught in November and was about 8 weeks, and now to know I'm only just pregnant, I'm so so nervous that something's wrong?

Anyone know when a 'baby' shows up on a scan??
xx

waffles1990 · 16/01/2014 13:17

LH1981 I think it's about 5-6 weeks they can see something, if you google ultrasounds at different weeks there are some good diagrams. Fingers crossed for you!

Hubby oh dear! Hopefully you don't get an old dragon at your booking appt haha. Don't worry, most midwives are lovely!! Just the odd one that still thinks they're Matron in the 1970s, take them with a pinch of salt

Hubbythecatandme · 16/01/2014 13:18

Hello LH!
Well I am 7+4 and baba is currently the size of a blueberry so really, I don't know how much they would be able to see either if I went for a scan!
Please try not to worry, if you've had no bleeding it's likely your foetus is too little really. Give it time xx

Hubbythecatandme · 16/01/2014 13:19

waffles yup think I might have inherited flipping matron!! Her colleague was so nice and warm, this one despite me trying to be all lovely... erm... yeah she is no softie by the looks of it damn it lol

Hubbythecatandme · 16/01/2014 13:29

Do you feel disgusted by certain foods? I have just had spring onion (which I normally love) and I feel like the taste is stuck in my mouth, yuck, it feels really disgusting, how could I ever eat that :s

LH1981 · 16/01/2014 13:30

Thanks Ladies!
This is #3 for me, but never been in this situation before with confusion over dates. Both my other scans were done at the normal 12 week stage, so when she said she couldn't see anything I was like 'panic stations'!

How is everyone feeling?
I'm a little nauseous, but mainly just gassy (sorry tmi) and my boobs are ridiculously sore. Also, lots of pulling and tugging sensations in my abdomen.

xx

Hubbythecatandme · 16/01/2014 13:32

Aww yes LH don't worry, you probs are maybe sthg like 3 weeks and that's why they can't see a thing.
Symptoms getting much better here, used to be knackered and nauseous. Now just the odd food aversion (spring onion is the devil ewww).
I am doing my work nicely today which is good as two days ago I was feeling so unmotivated!!

BexBoo12 · 16/01/2014 14:30

Aww LH!!! Welcome!! I recognise your name from the buses. Woop, lovely to have you here. Please don't worry about scan, my midwife told me over the phone that you're unlikely to see anything til 6 weeks onwards however there are some ladies that are lucky and get to see a little smudge on the screen.

I'm 6+4 today and going to see my midwife in 45 minutes!!! Eek!! I'm desperately hoping she tries to book me in for my scan today - my doc said she would to clear up confusion over time of conception. I really hope she does!!!

sebsmummy1 · 16/01/2014 15:07

Oh god I've got dark brown cm girls. I'm 14 dpo, were out at soft play, I've just gone to the toilet and it's in my knickers and quite a lit when I wipe. I'm scared Grin

sebsmummy1 · 16/01/2014 15:08

Argh that should have been a sad fucking face!!! Sad

HippyJess · 16/01/2014 15:09

sebsmummy at 14dpo it could easily be from implantation, try not to worry xx

HippyJess · 16/01/2014 15:09

(Also Thisisme I'm crying all the damn time! And things smell strong too.)

DearDinah · 16/01/2014 15:24

sebsmummy hoping it's implantation, can you get an appt with your GP if worried?

Just had my booking in with my lovely midwife, took an hour & a half! Would have been quicker if I didn't get anxious trying to do a wee sample!! She's said I'm low risk but got to wait for my scan at 12wks (so far away!) still dating me a week behind my estimations so EDD 28th Aug, but we'll see!

DearDinah · 16/01/2014 15:26

Oh and as an ex veggie I'm now craving beef! Lol had beef & horseradish sandwiches yesterday & today, googled horseradish & a few sites say NO! But others say yes (bounty recommends it) anyone know anything about horseradish?! Bloody google!!

sebsmummy1 · 16/01/2014 15:55

No I think it's a chemical girls. I'm wiping red blood now. I'm so fucking devastated.

KitKat1985 · 16/01/2014 16:03

Been a bit concerned that I haven't really felt sick this week after feeling really quite sick last week (although still with loads of food aversions) so did an internet cheapie test when home from work. Really clear positive still, and only took a few seconds to show so HCG levels must be getting stronger. Shortly afterwards midwife phoned and I have an appointment for Monday morning. So excited! xxx

KitKat1985 · 16/01/2014 16:04

sebsmummy sorry only just saw your post. Can you call your GP / midwife? x

KitKat1985 · 16/01/2014 16:07

sebsmummy can you phone NHS 111 for advice or your GP? You could probably do with a scan to find out what is happening? xx Thanks

Beccus · 16/01/2014 16:09

oh seb, really hope things turn out ok

sebsmummy1 · 16/01/2014 16:16

I am so early there really is nothing that can be done. I only missed my period yesterday and was showing 1-2 weeks pregnant on a digi. I think it's just one of those things, a non viable pregnancy, I guess at least I know I'm ovulating now, I wasn't the slightest bit convinced before.

I am going to just see if I bleed out now. It's a waiting game, albeit a bloody torturous soul-destroying one.

Hubbythecatandme · 16/01/2014 16:18

kitkat you and I both. Had two days where I was really sick last week, since no nausea, just food aversion. Very common apparently, if you google it, loads and loads of women in same case. Here in my part of Newcastle, no dating scan before week 12-13!!

rockin20s · 16/01/2014 16:19

oh im so sorry sebsmummy1 hugs

Hubbythecatandme · 16/01/2014 16:51

Sending you a big hub sebsmummy so sorry to hear. What made you think you weren't ovulating hun? I bought some ovulating tests things on ebay, not that I ever used them because I got preggers lol but think they can help xx

BexBoo12 · 16/01/2014 17:08

Sebsmummy I am very sorry Thanks fingers crossed it's nothing to worry about
