isitme1 · 20/01/2014 11:41

waffles
ive got a question.

My appointment is tomorrow morning sometime.
Ive lost the hosp letter (not a good start I know)
Who can I ring to ask?? Im sure its either 10 or 11am.

With 2 kids, 1 who is pump feed and a young child I don't really have the extra hour to wait around if I go early
ta x

Thanks everyone.
Just got home and all seems ok! Could see a yolk sac and a little flicker heartbeat. They were really good I am glad I went. They said to get back in touch if the bleeding continues, but hopefully it won't. Fingers crossed it was just a blip. Also put me at about 6 weeks which ties in with what I thought.
Stressful business this pregnancy lark!

sebsmummy1 · 20/01/2014 12:10

Oh that's fabulous news Grin. So pleased everything is ok xx

LH1981 · 20/01/2014 12:28

noitsachicken glad to hear all is well!

whiteblossom I had a water birth. Yes, you can have gas and air and pethidine. I had that injection that speeds the delivery of the placenta and all that was done whilst in the pool. My dh cut the cord whilst in the water too. But this was all at home so not sure if hospital rules are different. X

LH1981 · 20/01/2014 12:29

Ps, hospital just called with my blood results. Good news, all Hormones doubling like they should be. She said I'm very early which is why nothing showed on the scan. About 4 or 5 weeks now.

Eek!!

rockin20s · 20/01/2014 12:33

chicken you must be so relieved! thankfully everything is ok! and i think so may be the first on the thread to see a heartbeat!!!!!!

had my doctors appointment this morning, just took bloods and my weights, signed a few forms etc. my midwife has had to reschedule my first appointment with her till 5th Feb :-( ah well.

I'm hoping for a water birth at home! this will be my first birth, im going to do a hypno-birthing class as i have heard amazing things about it. DH is still a bit worried about a homebirth but we are only 15 mins from the hospital so i think it will be fine! here in Ireland they are extremely stricked about homebirths so i could be transferred over to the hospital at any time

rockin20s · 20/01/2014 12:35

LH thats great news! only just got my first set of bloods done, really want to get them back and see and good high number!

waffles1990 · 20/01/2014 12:39

isitme if you google the hospitals number for antenatal clinic just ring them and they'll find out for you. If it's not online then ring the hospitals switchboard and ask to be put through to antenatal clinic.

Water births - you can deliver the placenta with or without the injection, with injection you have to get out of pool though as mw needs to assist with a bit of pulling.

broodylicious · 20/01/2014 12:44

Yay chicken That's fab news and so amazing you got to see a heartbeat. Grin [so jealous!] Did you have a little tear in your eye/lump in your throat? I can't remember if I got emotional at our scans but have a feeling I will do this time as I'm crying at anything. I dread to think of the state I'll be in watching coronation street tonight!

noitsachicken · 20/01/2014 12:56

Thanks everyone. Yes very relieved, but still have a slight concern, and I expect I will until the bleeding stops. I must stop knicker checking every 5 mins!

Am I the first to see a heartbeat rockin? I hope I am Smile and no broody I didn't get a tear in my eye, I have a heart of stone!

Its nice to have this thread to come to for support, I must try harder to keep up!

whiteblossom · 20/01/2014 13:00

noitsachicken, that's fab news, and yes its very stressful and hardwork Smile

LH &Waffles thanks for the info, I don't fancy a water birth at home, Id worry too much if something went wrong but I am thinking about it at hospital. Waffles kinda put me off the epidural, so I think Ive but that on a needs must, back burner. I managed fine last time on gas and air its just that I was so exhausted I didn't know which way was up and I want to be 'with it' this time. After two days of no sleep and labour I'd just 'gone into myself'. I really think this started the chain of reaction with regard to PND.

LH Good news Smile

New thread, sorry if i missed anyone off the list

Hubbythecatandme · 25/01/2014 00:16

topmammy Yes the Childbirth Without Fear book TERRIFIED me, especially the cover of it :s
I am soo not going near this book again and think I am still going to beg for epidural like my friends did.... I am usually good with pain but not good at staying calm and keeping it together!
Hope everyone is well, hello to the newbies!!
Feeling nauseous all day long here, nuisance, also spent last night waking up every half hours thinking "the cat is on the baby" and completely panicking... poor baby is not even born and cat was just having a snooze at our feet!
Ah well...
Completely obsessed with pineapples, lemon and oranges at the moment. Drinking a juice made of 2 lemons and 3 oranges as I am typing yummmm!!!!
