rockin20s so sorry to hear that. Last thing you need at the moment. What is it you do? If you do lose your job could you do something temporary until due date? I've certainly been in your situation before and there is usually temp work going somewhere. At least then you should still qualify for statutory maternity pay once you are ready to start maternity leave?

If it makes you feel any better DH lost his job in October (just as we were about to TTC, so had to put it on hold). He's done some temporary work for a while since but has a new (better) job to start at the end of the month (it's taken a while for him to get a start date as it's with the NHS and their HR department are sooooo slow). I guess what I'm trying to say is it was a horrible c* experience at the time, but it's worked out for the best eventually, and that this will get better. Thanks

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 10:54

That's just crap!!!!

BooSurprise · 14/01/2014 11:01

rockin they can't not take you on because you're pregnant that is discrimination, although I agree you might find it hard. You should be able to claim maternity allowance, could you maybe do some temp work until you wanted to go on mat leave?

I need a massive dose of reassurance this morning, my current mat leave finishes in April and I need to talk to work about my massive amount of leave I've accumulated and flexible hours as I'll have 2 in nursery now, plus trying to maximise my mat pay for this bean by doing some shift work, all this has started me thinking about my lack of symptoms, I have very occasional nausea, and cramps, but none of the symptoms from my last pregnancies, I know DH won't want to try again if this doesn't work out, as this was very much a surprise, but I've realised how much I do want thus baby, ahhh feels better to get it off my chest.
Anyone else largely symptomless?

Mummyinpink1289 · 14/01/2014 11:14

i have pretty much zero symptoms BooSurprise, teeny bit of nausea and round ligament pain but thats it. Enjoy it, if the test says ur pregnant then u r - soon you will be wishing the symptoms away once bump arrives so im just enjoying these weeks while they last cos from my last 2 pregnancies i know how long 6 months drags on for when you're uncomfortable and unable to get out of bed or put your own socks on - christ knows how ill manage looking after 2 children and myself during the later months. eek.

rockin20s · 14/01/2014 11:14

I work as a geologist so its unlikely i will get a job in my field. i have had a look at the mat pay rules and i think im fine as it will look at 2013. I am in Ireland so our rules may be different to yours.

i have about 6 years experience in Pharmacy work so could look for temp work covering someone else mat leave hopefully!!!!

well i officially feel sick. maybe its the morning sickness kicking in! i doubt it though. think i buy some chocolate

there is about 20% of me that is delighted! I will sleep in my own bed every night, see my DH everyday. it will make the doctor and hospital appointments much easier. no more 2.5 hours drives to work every monday and friday etc etc

waffles1990 · 14/01/2014 11:58

I feel horrenndddouusss. Still not actually vommed but come extremely close several times. Kill me. It's like an everlasting hangover :(

I've got a job interview tomorrow for something I really really want and I genuinely don't know if I'll be able to make it

Boohoo :(

rockin20s · 14/01/2014 12:03

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 12:26

Oh no waffles I feel for you xx

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 12:26

And good luck at your interview if you so make it Grin

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 12:52

Got a bit of spotting. It's very watery and a browny pink, more brown though. Last 2 times I've just had full flow but that was morning.
I fucking hate my body if it is doing it again.
I've not told dh, just sitting in the bathroom having a cry.

waffles1990 · 14/01/2014 13:00

Thanks rockin and choccy

Ah no choccy. At least it's minimal and looks like old blood though? Can you go to your local EPAU x

Ellisisland · 14/01/2014 13:03

Oh Choccoy I really hope everything is ok. Can you get yourself to a EPU? Thanks

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 13:16

Epu won't see me as too early

Kt1991 · 14/01/2014 13:17

Hope everything is ok choccy get it checked out if its worrying you. Have everything crossed x

ThisIsMeNow · 14/01/2014 13:27

Choccy, a lot of people get spotting around the time their af should be due or during the first trimester. Brown is better. What about cramps? Please don't panic, it's probably nothing x

broodylicious · 14/01/2014 13:29

Crying at animal park. Oh yes, I love preggo hormones.... Wink

choccy sending love and positive vibes xx

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 13:36

No cramps but I didn't with the last 2 either. If going from the last 2 months I started bleeding today (Dec) or tomorrow (Nov).
It's just not fair all this heartache and waiting :(

ThisIsMeNow · 14/01/2014 13:47

It could still just be spotting choccy. Hand hold if you need it. Just take it easy now x

waffles1990 · 14/01/2014 14:02

How many weeks do you have to be to be seen by EPAU? I didn't realise there was a lower limit criteria, I know cut off is 16 weeks

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 14:15

5.5/6 weeks here, they prefer 6+ I'm only 4.5.

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 14:16

Thanks Thisisme x

givemeaboost · 14/01/2014 14:21

choccy epac/epau should be able to see you, they saw me from 5wks with dc1, only saw yolk sac at that point but I then had weekly scans until 14wks. If you cant get seen there, maybe ask the dr to do bloods, to see whether your hcg is doubling?

rockin20s · 14/01/2014 14:30

oh choccy try to stay calm, if the spotting was brown then it is a few days old, the placenta should be growing and burrowing into your lining which can cause some bleeding!

sebsmummy1 · 14/01/2014 14:32

I got my BFP today. It is faint so im scared, but i don't want to keep harping on about pregnancy on my TTC thread, so im decamping here if that's ok.

Due date around 26th September Grin

Cant actually believe i am writing that!!!!

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 14:40

I will call them again give me, thanks
