hubby i have a BMI of 36. I weighed exactly the same when I fell pg with my DS. The cut off in this area was 35. So frustrating. The 'consultant led' part of it for me meant a glucose tolerance test for gestational diabetes, a couple of meetings with a 'consultant' and a growth scan at around 36 weeks I think. None of that bothered me. What did get to me was that it meant that I Wasn't allowed a water birth or to be in the nice midwifery suite. It wasn't the end of the world. Otherwise, I had a health pregnancy (if you don't count the horrendous HG). So with HG in mind, a week after I had DS I was almost 4 stone lighter than my booking weight! Put it all back on now though. Grr.
I will be going through the same again this time no doubt. Just eat healthily and follow advice. I'm sure it'll be fine. I did, however, politely decline an appointment with he nutritionist. I know what I should and shouldn't be eating, I just struggle with it! I will do the same again.
So, healthy pg, healthy baby and healthy me and the end of it with a BMI of 36. It's not the end of the world. X
