Morning, so how are we feeling this morning?
Me? Blergh! Feeling so sick, can't face food and struggling with my morning (decaf) coffee. Didn't sleep too well last night, woke around 3.45 dying for a wee and couldn't be bothered. Finally got up at 4.30.
Ds woke at 6.45 but I was already awake so I was kind of glad he woke!
Lots going on inside this belly of mine, feels completely different to the last 2 months so am hoping that's a good thing Grin

topmammy · 14/01/2014 07:34

For you Hubby Thanks Gotta dash off to work now (boo!) But I hope you feel a better today. Just remember that the BMI scores were created by the American diet industry to make more people buy more diet food so I take BMI categories with a pinch a salt!

Sleepisf0rwimps · 14/01/2014 07:40

hubby i have a BMI of 36. I weighed exactly the same when I fell pg with my DS. The cut off in this area was 35. So frustrating. The 'consultant led' part of it for me meant a glucose tolerance test for gestational diabetes, a couple of meetings with a 'consultant' and a growth scan at around 36 weeks I think. None of that bothered me. What did get to me was that it meant that I Wasn't allowed a water birth or to be in the nice midwifery suite. It wasn't the end of the world. Otherwise, I had a health pregnancy (if you don't count the horrendous HG). So with HG in mind, a week after I had DS I was almost 4 stone lighter than my booking weight! Put it all back on now though. Grr.

I will be going through the same again this time no doubt. Just eat healthily and follow advice. I'm sure it'll be fine. I did, however, politely decline an appointment with he nutritionist. I know what I should and shouldn't be eating, I just struggle with it! I will do the same again.

So, healthy pg, healthy baby and healthy me and the end of it with a BMI of 36. It's not the end of the world. X

Metalhead · 14/01/2014 07:41

Hubby please don't be too hard on yourself because of your weight, as long as you eat sensibly now and don't put on too much during your pregnancy I'm sure you and baby will both be fine! And well done for going to the gym.

Choccy I'm feeling rubbish too today. Couldn't drop off last night despite being shattered, then had to go to the loo twice during the night. Oh and I've got a cold coming on.

My nausea seems to get worse as the day goes on, but so far I seem to be able to keep it in check if I eat regularly.

Is anybody else cold all the time? I think I was like that last time too, remember reading about pregnant women being hot all the time and thinking "well I'm not, I'm bloody freezing!"

Cindy5389 · 14/01/2014 07:46

Hey everyone, feeling very sick now. Ginger biscuits are helping a little. So hard trying to keep it from everyone.. Prob going to ring the doctors today. The problem is, I'm moving at the end of the month (well hopefully, as the original move date was meant to b 10th Jan) so I won't b under the same doctors surgery. Not sure what they will say as my mw appt will prob b after then.. Any advice on when to tell work also? I work in a small company and we have never had a female become pregnant. Not sure how they will take it. Had to authorise holiday for one of the ladies in my office for 8-20th sept. which is abit akward coz it will fall on my due date but I could hardly say no. Anyways I hadn't actually done a test at that point so technically I didn't know I was pregnant.. Sorry for the long message.

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 07:51

Metal, I am always cold!! I thought it was just me feeling the cold a bit more that dh (I'm always colder than him!)
But the house was warm last night, I even went and checked if the thermostat had turned the heating on! (It had)
I had a blanket on me on the sofa and was still cold. Was alright after I was in bed.

Metalhead · 14/01/2014 07:56

That's exactly like me Choccy! Another reason why I've been going to bed early, so I can snuggle up under the nice big winter duvet...

rockin20s · 14/01/2014 08:00

I'm was very cold over the weekend. Kept my jacket on all day yesterday in work too. As soon as I had the room to myself I was adjusting the heaters.

Still no sickness Here. Boobs are a little tender and cramps have completly stopped now so I'm freaking out. I wouldn't mind a few days of feeling sick to put my mind at rest.

isitme1 · 14/01/2014 08:07

Ive had horrible pain this morning :(
Felt like bottom of stomach just got really heavy kinda thing.
Anyone else had this?

Fairypants · 14/01/2014 08:09

I'm the same rockin, I would love to feel rubbish.
I'm also really cold. I tend to feel the cold but this last week is ridiculous. Dd2 was wandering round the house in a t-shirt whilst I shivered under a blanket. Maybe that counts as a symptom Smile

rockin20s · 14/01/2014 08:12

It must be. I just did another IC and finally my line is as dark as the test line. I have done a test every morning since I found out and have been watching the line get darker every day. If it wasn't for that I think I would have gone crazy

DearDinah · 14/01/2014 08:22

I'm always cold but can't tolerate my hair dryer anymore, feel like its burning my head, I'm putting it down to blood vessels or something.
Hate the smell of everything now, I think everything stinks & makes me want to vom, even DH! Blush

tiredallthetime123 · 14/01/2014 08:35

Morning ladies. Have been reading for a week or so but thought it might be nice to join in. Hope you all well. I am 7 weeks today with first pregnancy. Calculators and doc said due on 2nd September. Happened really quickly and tbh can't really believe it. Have tender boobs and had some nasty cramps and constipation last week which made me a bit anxious but other than that nothing to write home about. Feel a bit nauseous sometimes if i'm hungry but i reckon that could just be a bit of anxiety. I am freezing cold all the time( currently sat on floor at work next to radiator with hat scarf fingerless gloves and coat on and laptop on knee). Hubby I also have a high BMI. 2014 was the year I was going to lose two stone in prep for getting pregnant so I could be all healthy and amazing and blah... Went on holiday over Chrissy and got preggers straight away so I am going into this a couple of stone (read 3) overweight and really apprehensive about the impact this will have on baby and on my own health. Trying not to worry too much, definitely NOT going to diet, will eat healthily and as I am not sick at the moment am going to do 30-40 mins of moderate exercise at lunchtime during week ie walking uphill on treadmill etc. Anyway sorry for the long message- nice to meet you all. Heres to a good few months of friendships and shared experiences ladies! raises coffee cup xx

isitme1 · 14/01/2014 08:55

Take that as a no :(

tiredallthetime123 · 14/01/2014 09:07

isitme, Maybe you need to go to the toilet.

rockin20s · 14/01/2014 09:09

sorry isitme1 seems all of these types of cramps come under 'normal for first trimester'.

isitme1 · 14/01/2014 09:31

Thank you.

Ive been to the loo. I dont know if its a bladder infection or something like that as I do get recurrent uti's but the pain waa horrible.

Just thought nobody wanted to answer to bad news Blush

Fairypants · 14/01/2014 09:34

Sorry isit, i missed your post. As long as there's no blood it's quite normal but if really painful check with dr/mw was the advice I got re cramping. I hope you are feeling better by now?

Metalhead · 14/01/2014 09:39

If it was just a one-off pain isitme I wouldn't worry too much, but if it's still bad I'd phone GP/mw and see what they say.

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 10:00

So, last month I was bleeding by now.........phew! Just need to get through tomorrow and I can hopefully start to breathe again!

Isitme, I got all sorts of pain with ds. How far are you?

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 10:01

And welcome tired!! Grin

rockin20s · 14/01/2014 10:17

Well my boss just told me our dept may not get its full budget for this year and my job may be non exsistant ny the end of next week.

I burst out crying and told him I was 5 weeks pregnant. Dick!!!! The look on his face was priceless. I had planned on giving up the job anyway as I work away from home mid week but will I wanted to keep working and get a paycheck will I went on mat leave.

Shit Shit Shit

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 10:45

Rockin I'm so sorry!!! That's awful news. Can they not get rid of anyone else? Or could you explain that you would like to just work up to the baby being born then they can let you go? I don't know how it all works sorry x

rockin20s · 14/01/2014 10:51

They let a few go before Christmas and I was mamading them and some contractors. Looks like we won't have the money for the contractors this year either so there aren't to many people left to manage.

I should know ny the end of next week. I should get about 4 years of a redundancy and the 2013 bonus should be paid on march should get that but still. Can't exactly look for another job can I

Thanks for hiring me by the way I'm pregnant.....

rockin20s · 14/01/2014 10:52
