Fingers crossed for sticky beans and well behaved toddlers Hmm!

How is everyone this week? I have my 20 week scan tomorrow which I cannot believe has come around so quickly, at least after your 1st pregnancy each one seems to go quicker :)

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 30/04/2014 21:58

How did it go Clara? I had mine today. Now 21 + 2 and feeling lots of little kicks, really low down which is new for me.
Scan was fine, no problems, although the baby was in a really awkward position and so the sonographer didn't bother taking any pictures Hmm. Then when I told her I'd lost my 12 week scan pictures (hospital's fault!) she had another go so I have some funny pictures of legs and hands Smile

Hope everyone's feeling ok? I'm still feeling pretty tired and ropey but got back to much more like normal life. Better enjoy it while it lasts!

Now grown out of first batch of maternity clothes. When I met the sonographer today she asked me if I was there for my 32 week scan.....

Kirsty770 · 01/05/2014 22:06

Hope scans are going ok, have you had it confirmed what your having?

Strangely I'm getting really low down kicks too this time which I have never had before, always been much higher kickers.

I've been feeling OK recently and starting to slightly panic about the lack of space and lack of having anything for a baby. Got a maternity leave meeting in work in the next couple of weeks so that will make it all seem more real.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 02/05/2014 12:58

I'm panicking about money! We already don't seem to have enough, and I would really like to not go back to work. I managed to accrue 125 in overdraft charges last month Blush

We did indeed have the gender confirmed. I'll tell you guys. No one else is going to find out however much they complain! After two boys we're now having a ........ girl Smile Smile Smile

pommedeterre · 02/05/2014 19:37

Congratulations have! Girls are lovely.
My guess was correct! I was pretty sick with dd1 and felt yucky with dd2 too. This boy pg has been a welcome no nausea one so for me the old wives take has been true.
I'm another one with low down kicks this time round.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 06/05/2014 11:37

Yeah, everyone has said girls make you more sick. Still having moments at 22 weeks!

Finally went public on facebook last night with a family and bump picture. Still people at school going - oh my god - look at you - you're pregnant! How fat must they have thought I was getting? I guess shows you you really don't need to worry about the odd pound on your tummy normally.....

Having a day at home on my own while MIL takes DS2 out. Very relieved the tube strike is off this week. Couldn't really have escaped with not going in to work but would have been awful. I find people on the overground train are much less likely to offer a seat, and on the bus you'll never get one!

Kirsty770 · 15/05/2014 11:55

How's everyone doing? I'm feeling more kicks now and have suddenly gone huge.

I'm planning on finishing work at the beginning of August and got 2 weeks off for half term, seems to be speeding along.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 15/05/2014 14:40

Signed off work for a month! Racing heart. My GP is a very lovely lady. Pottering around and doing a bit of gardening, enjoying the sun. Not feeling that great though. And I have been banned from caffeine......

pommedeterre · 16/05/2014 12:33

Oh no! Hope you feel better soon Have. Total ban from caffeine is Not Good though.

Saw my consultant this am. Some of the doppler bloodflow results from my 20 week scan concern her and so I am having a rescan at the end of the May.

I am injecting twice a day now (normal for me in pg) and so have a multi coloured black, grey and yellow bump from the bruises. Very attractive!

Starting to really struggle with the ugliness of maternity clothes... Keep gazing longingly at all the beautiful patterned trousers and pencil skirts in the shops.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 16/05/2014 22:22

Is that related tp your clotting problem pomme?

Hopefully the next scan will put their (and your! ) mind at rest.

pommedeterre · 17/05/2014 11:01

Yes have the risk to the baby is of a clot in the placenta and the only check is the blood flow measurements. I'm not too worried as baby's growth was good and I think the 20 week sono grapher did it too quickly - took ages with both dds.

How are you feeling now? Got any baby girl bits? I've bought a couple of blue vests and am starting to plan a grey/blue/nautical nursery.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 17/05/2014 14:08

No - too early! I do have a pink silk pashmina thing that I thought would be nice to wrap the baby in in hospital though..... funny cause I (at the moment) am very anti pink!
After that it'll probably just be boys' clothes Grin

More practically we're considering getting a grand picasso on lease hire. Feel a bit superstitious about doing it so early but apparently it takes about three months to arrive...... and the baby is due in three and a half months Shock

pommedeterre · 18/05/2014 16:34

I have a c4 Picasso we got it in December when we came back to the uk and were ttc. I felt a bit worries about it then - as in, if we didn't get dc3 would it always be a reminder?!

I love it however, great car even for 2 kids to be honest!

Kirsty770 · 28/05/2014 08:49

How is everyone? Anyone been buying much? I've not yet, got nowhere to store anything anyway. Feeling lots of kicks though.

Is anyone going to visit the midwife at 25 weeks? Mine said to go but looking at the notes it says only for first baby and at the diabetic clinic that week so they will check my blood pressure which is all the midwife did at my last visit to her at 16 weeks. Just wondered whether to bother. I wasn't planning on doing so.

Got 2 weeks of half term now. Got 2 nights in London booked, hoping to make use of the bus tours so not too much walking as my back aches after standing or walking too much.

Passthebiscuitspls · 30/05/2014 21:33

Hey ladies, can I join please?

Found out this week I'm pg with number 3! Thrilled!! Only 5 weeks though so a looooong wait til the 12 week scan. I already have a boy aged 6 and a 3 yr old girl.

Every day is starting to feel like a year, I remember this feeling so well from the last two. Feeling rough too, very nauseous and hungover, just without the consumption of gin! :(
Xx

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 01/06/2014 22:31

Welcome passthebiscuits. Sorry you're feeling so rough. I sympathise as I felt truly terrible this time. Much better now though Smile. Hope it passes quickly! Hungover is the closest I can describe how I feel in pregnancy.

Third trimester tomorrow! Can I start counting down? And we are picking up the grand picasso on Thursday....

I can't remember when my next appointment is Kirsty - feels like ages since the last scan. But I know I've got another diabetes test next Tuesday. And we get a 32 week scan as standard at my hospital which is good.

How is everyone's youngest reacting? DS2 who is 2.7 is incredibly clingy, attached to me permanently. He has forgotten all about being a big boy and describes himself as a teeny baby. Sleeps next to me all night, kicks his dad out of bed and has his hand stuck down my top the whole time. Asks where the baby is every morning Smile. Possibly going to be a few issues when the baby arrives!!!

clara85 · 02/06/2014 10:36

have - when does the 3rd trimester actually start?? I have a countdown on my phone and today is 99 days until my earliest section date depending what day of the week the consultant books them.... feels like ages away which im grateful for!

sorry to hear your youngest is being clingy, I still just cannot imagine another baby here to look after although my youngest is 2.2 and doesnt understand , the oldest does a little I just hope there is not jealously this time with a bigger age gap x

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 02/06/2014 15:15

I'm not sure actually but 26 weeks is as close as you can get to a third of 40! Likely to have my section at 39 weeks so 13 weeks to go or 91 days.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 02/06/2014 21:44

Two thirds..... not so good with numbers these days!

pommedeterre · 03/06/2014 07:37

25 weeks here, induction will be 38 weeks so 13 weeks left to go.

Induction week is when dd1 starts reception so will need planning.

Nursery kinda done and now starting to really worry about how I'm going to manage 3!

Interesting about your little one being clingy have - dd2 is having some moments too.

Hi biscuits and welcome! Congratulations! This pg has gone so quick past the 6/7 week stage this time, probably having two already stops me thinking about it so much.

I have two dds, one four and one two. We are expecting a little boy this time.

Kirsty770 · 05/06/2014 16:48

I'm 25 weeks and will also be induced at 38 weeks. I'm interested if it's going to be an August or September baby as it will be that weekend I am due to be induced.

My 2 boys have both become clingy and the oldest now wants to be dressed by me again after being independent before. The younger one is always trying to sit on me and cries for me loads.

Had my diabetic check this morning, seems ok, so that's good news as been worrying about it, not sure my diet is as good as with previous pregnancies.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 10/06/2014 21:52

Kirsty I went for my diabetes test today and they messed it up!

It was a locum phlebotomist and she gave far too little lucozade. Not only did I ask her if it was the right amount, I was so sure it was wrong I went and found another phlebotomist and told her I thought the other one had done it wrong. She agreed with me but apparently was told that was what the instructions were......

Two hours later and the head of something or other arrived and gathered all of the women in a room to tell them they'd been given the wrong amount of lucozade and we had starved / spent the morning in hospital / arranged childcare for nothing. Awkward! Grin

Feeling better all the time and managed a camping trip at the weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if I do get a positive diabetes test so making the most of enjoying food while I can.

Kirsty I will be the same week (pomme too I think), 39 weeks will be 1st Sep, so the august / september thing will be a big question.

Kirsty770 · 10/06/2014 23:03

That's so annoying, so you have to go through it all again? I managed to avoid the GTT this time as they started monitoring my sugars from 8 weeks, so I was able to cancel it thankfully. I'm on Metformin now, hoping to avoid insulin this time, although it is harder to control the further pregnancy goes on.

I've started watching big brother, as a countdown to the end of the pregnancy, always surprised how quickly the weeks go past.

I brought the induction date up with the consultant as my due date is a Saturday, she said if I want my baby to be the youngest they could arrange it for the 29th August, I'm sure they will book it for the Monday though. My other half wants August as it's one less year of childcare costs. Having 2 boys already one September and one June I can see what a difference it makes though, one refuses to dress himself or try to write his name, the other was one of the first to do everything in his class and much more informative of what he had done that day, it's a tough choice, just leave it up to them and see when they fit me in, I got to pick last time if it was before or after my birthday, picked before, wish I had picked after as spent the day waiting for the midwife who finally turned up at 5.30 and now my birthday is now an extension of his.

Still trying to arrange my work leaving date, they seem to think will be the end of August, I'm planning on the beginning but HR keep cancelling my meeting so not my fault if it ends up being short notice.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 11/06/2014 10:17

I think with a boy I would definitely be much happier with a september date, mainly based on my experience with ds1 who has suffered with confidence issues at school. Tempting to have a year less of childcare though! It's weird how a scheduling decision can make such a difference to someone's life!.

pommedeterre · 11/06/2014 12:10

Im glad someone else has this dilemma too! I think ours will definitely be 1st sept induction (depending on dd1s start date for reception). Some of my friends have summer boys and they do seem a bit young for starting school this year.

My girls are Feb and March so never been anywhere near the cut off point before. DH and I are both Autumn and think it helped us at school.

Childcare for a whole extra year is a pain and also, if they are ready for school earlier they can be a bit difficult for the last few months pre reception I think (dd1 I am looking at you).

Have - that is soooo bad about your diabetes test, thats such a pain.
