Morning Sarah, my dh snores too and I have to wear ear plugs. He uses a snore spray from boots which seems to help a lot. If he forgets to take spray then I hear him through the earplugs. Had your dh tried a spray?
My dh lost weight a few years ago and his snoring improved and he's put it back on just now and his snoring has got worse again. Is your dh a little overweight?

My dh was on his works Christmas Day out yesterday. He was out from 11am and got in just after 10pm. He has been up through the night being sick and had headache this morning.
I may be missing pate but definitely not feeling a little delicate after a Christmas night out.
I'm meeting 3 really good friends for lunch today and have not told then yet as wanted to tell them together, looking forward to that.

Wishing everyone a lovely day today Smile

Bee - they can refer you to CGT counselling & you fast track because of being pregnant. Your mw can refer you so I'd ask them about available support.

My husband snored soooo badly before we discovered he had nasal polyps & had an op. I used to make him stay awake so I could fall asleep 1st but once baby was born it was a nightmare. But - if you plan on co sleeping babies make even more noise (or even from Moses basket tbh). 1 night I lay there while baby was squealing in his sleep the husband was snoring ridiculously loud & just thought FFS !!! You might find even though your husband snores he wakes to baby easily (some do) & can nudge you when baby wakes.

LadyGoneGaga · 21/12/2013 08:38

You know what though...don't complain about the snores TOO much. I never snore. Apart from later in pregnancy when I become a terrible snorer apparently! Quite common as you get bigger to start snoring.

Have lovely weekends! I've got to finish the wrapping and then hopefully am just about done. My little boy will be going away though as it's his Dad's turn to spend Christmas with him. We get him back on 27th but it's always sad every other Christmas day Sad

MarlenaGru · 21/12/2013 08:47

That must be rubbish lady Xmas Sad

I snore from the moment the pregnancy snot starts so I sleep with my mouth open to spare DH and get a sore throat. Hmm

Sarah when my dd was little I used to use earplugs as I could still hear her cry but couldn't hear the fussing and snoring and grunting that babies do. You may find you can sleep with earplugs just fine. Otherwise I think a lot of people banish DH to spare rooms when babies are newborn but I hated doing that.

GillyBillyWilly · 21/12/2013 09:53

I've been crap at posting on here lately.. Had such a busy few weeks!

My friend from Canada came to stay, work has been hectic and I've been thinking about Christmas too much! Feel like I'm constantly shopping or wrapping pressies!!! Grin

Anyway I'm off home to my family for a few days, back to London on Xmas Eve to spend Xmas day with the in laws... Then back home til the new year with the hubby!

So... I don't imagine I will be posting on here much as I will be caught up in a Christmas whirlwind!

I hope you are all doing well and have an amazing Christmas and new year... I will return in January (although I will be lurking from time to time!) Grin

Off to see an out of hours doctor at the hospital. My 18 month old has a rash all over back & stomach, a hoarse throat & a temperature. Poor thing - hope he's well in time for Christmas!

SleepyNess · 21/12/2013 10:53

Morning!!

Still in bed. Bliss!!! Need to get up, wrap some presents, buy some last minute stuff, make some mince pies and clean the house but I'm soooo lazy....

My DH also snored. I'm quite ok with it myself, unless i have insomnia, but i worry baby might not like it or that my sleep patter will be very sensitive and i won't be able to get any sleep. Buy we really don't want to move to separate rooms...

Lady, i've sent you PM re Facebook :)

SleepyNess · 21/12/2013 10:54

i mean, snoreS, not snored :)

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 21/12/2013 11:07

Bumblebee I hope your little one is fine, and it's something that can be cleared up quickly!

Well, we sat around for three hours chatting and watching telly, DH unwrapped his Christmas presents, and then we went to bed. Still feel totally shattered as I couldn't go back to sleep, but hey - I was thinking of earplugs, too, though it wouldn't surprise me if his nose was dodgy, he can't smell well, either.

SleepyNess · 21/12/2013 11:09

Oh I crave all things soured!! Sauerkraut stew!! Soured milk! Picked herring! If I'd known this would be my pg craving, we would have gone to my mums this Christmas :)

SleepyNess · 21/12/2013 11:10

Pickled.. Grr.. Sleepy brain!

CleverOl10 · 21/12/2013 11:36

Hello all and Merry Christmas! We are having Christmas #1 today with DHs family. Father Christmas has been and DS is super happy! Just hoping I can manage Xmas dinner later! MIL managed to ignore my 'don't buy me clothes' rule thus sadly the lovely jumper she gave me is too tight on my preggo boobs and belly!

So far feeling ok. The ms seems to have gone down to 2-3 times a week which is better. Just hiding from the chaos downstairs for a half an hour recoup!

Have a good weekend all!

SarahAnderson · 21/12/2013 11:58

Thanks all for snoring advice. You are the best Wink

MarlenaGru · 21/12/2013 13:36

Anyone want a cat? Trying to wrap my Xmas presents and my cat is insisting on "helping" Xmas Hmm

superlambanana · 21/12/2013 14:31

I feel your pain Marlena - my dog seems to think that the unrolling of the wrapping paper on the living room floor is an invitation to sit in the middle of it Smile

superlambanana · 21/12/2013 14:32

Bumble how is your DS?

LadyGoneGaga · 21/12/2013 14:34

I had my 2 year old "helping" yesterday, Marlena. Trouble is that usually i'd wait until kids are in bed and do it then but I'm so shattered at the moment that I want to go to bed as soon as they do. DD probably needs to drop her nap as can't get her into bed alseep before 9pm at the moment - not good!!!

MarlenaGru · 21/12/2013 14:42

lady a two year old trumps my cat!! My dd is away until tomorrow so I need to finish tonight.
super should we send my cat and your dog with some wrapping paper into a room to play? Xmas Grin My cat is enormous so would probably be quite happy playing unless your dog is enormous too!

I expected more from my care for my thyroid, as I 'know' a consultant endocrinologist from mn who's given me some advice re my thyroxine dose etc. However I sat and discussed it with the midwife at my booking in, and she was quite dismissive saying no extra care was needed at all, except perhaps a couple of blood tests my GP might want.

I talked my GP into starting me on thyroxine, as my thyroid results were borderline for 'normal', but far too low for pg. He started me on 25mg, and I took 50, got the first bloods back and he upped it to 50mg (I explained I was taking that already, and suddenly he decided I didn't need more - despite just 'doubling' my dose based on my blood results!) - I'm currently taking 100 and waiting for more blood tests.

Now I'm passed first trimester it's not quite so important I think, but I'm shocked I've had to do so much of my own research and care. Ah well.

Whoever said about not knowing their blood test results - you should be able to ask the receptionist for the numbers, or get a printout from either reception or your dr. They're you're results and you're entitled to a copy. Just need to be pushy with them.

My health visitor was ok with DS, but I did have an awful one that came over just once. She said I was "exhausting" DS bf him wrong. No advice given, but she said him falling asleep feeding was a sign he was having to try too hard to get milk. She really shook my confidence and massively worried me. Luckily there was a drop in bf group I went to the next day who sorted me out. His latch was fine anyway, she just had no idea what she was talking about!

Bumblebeesmum · 21/12/2013 15:22

My toddler has croup - they've said not to worry just paracetamol & monitor him but it rules out family gathering at my Dad's for Christmas tomorrow as my sister has a 3 month old so it wouldn't be fair / healthy to be around her. Oh well at least the worry is over - who'd have kids right?!

Stacks · 21/12/2013 15:45

I posted then saw there was a whole page I'd not read. Caught up now I think :)

Bee I hope your LO feels better soon. Shame about missing the family gathering, it's hard with LOs.

Luckily my DH isn't a snorer, so I can't offer any advice really. I'm sure you'll figure something out, babies can be quite loud too, though my DS was a very quiet sleeper - I regularly used to check he was still breathing :)

Redcliff · 21/12/2013 16:49

Bee - it's so rotten when they are sick isn't it. I hope it all clears up soon.

Spent all morning trying to clear the house up in preparation for FILs arrival . The place is still messier than I would like but at least his room is clear and bed all made up and there is space to move around. Could do do much more but pregnancy plus ear infection has left me wiped out. DP has gone to fetch FIL from airport so am vegging out in forint of Big Bang theory. I did make a welcome grandad sign with DS as well so trying not to feel too guilty.

panicmechanic · 21/12/2013 17:39

Lady I can sympathise I dropped my DH and DS to the airport today they are away for a week. It is bizarre to be able to sit on the sofa !

My DH snores and DD was very noisy but they didn't seem to disturb each other just me! I always make sure that my DH is on his side otherwise he is darth Vadar!

Hope that you all have relaxing evenings ahead

superlambanana · 21/12/2013 18:33

Marlena my dog is pretty big though she clearly thinks she's a lap dog and also tries to chase cats I'm afraid... Not that she'd ever be fast enough to catch one even if we let her chase it

MarlenaGru · 21/12/2013 18:33

bee sorry to hear he has croup but good news it isn't serious.
panic I hope you have some friends around for the week. My DH and DD are back tomorrow and I have missed them loads and it wasn't even Christmas Xmas Sad
