Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Calmriver · 11/08/2006 22:01

3 and a half months till we meet our little bunnies!!!

magnolia1 · 11/08/2006 22:13

3.5 months till Xmas!!!!!

Sorry

Olihan · 12/08/2006 21:27

Hi, went to a wedding yesterday so have had a couple of days away from computer!!

Glad to hear all the scans so far have been positive. Had mine on Thurs and everything was okay. Didn't find out the sex though - I like the surprise at the end!

Caramelli, I had a low placenta at my 20 week scan with dd and by 36 weeks it was well out of the way. I was told all the precautionary stuff at the scan but my community mw told me that that section of the uterus is always the last bit to grow so lots of people have low placentas at 20 weeks but most of them move. HTH.

Weirdbird, that's 4 of us now due on Boxing Day - the race to the finish will be fun!

Can't remember what else was going to say but 'How do you solve a problem like maria' is about to start again so I'm off!

Carameli · 14/08/2006 08:29

thanks guys for making me feel a bit better about the placenta business, it has been on my mind a bit.
SPinamum, how are things progressing with you and your house? We are getting a surveyor in tomorrow to look at the plans and see if he can tell us a bit more about how it will affect us.
We are going to get a surveryor involved anyway just to make sure it all goes ok.
Now just waiting to hear what our buyers think of the whole thing so still on tenderhooks about that.

Had a very nostalgic weekend spending a lot of time at my parents sorting through bags and boxes of things from the past as they are planning to have a loft extension. Was really strange looking through old school reports and books and deciding what I wanted to keep. It was staggering how much we threw away and how much we still have to sort through. But also quite good therapy decluttering.

castlesintheair · 14/08/2006 10:41

Happy monday! Isn't it a lovely day? DS/DD have already watched Tigger Movie and are now half way through a Peppa Pig compilation
Sorry to hear about the house/moving woes. We may be moving next month and I am already starting to feel stressed. Along with DS starting school and DD nursery (huge separation anxiety probs) it should make for a fun month! Talking of stress, is anyone else suffering from heartburn? Mine is terrible, it's getting to the stage where I am almost frightened to eat. Most unusual for me

Loulou000 · 14/08/2006 11:12

Yeah, horrible situation about losing the house, and there's no comeback at all as nothing was signed yet... but never mind, I had the 20 week scan on friday and it looks like we've got ourselves a healthy baby girl! I'm so happy and excited.

I've got a low lying placenta, though, like Carameli and Elibean. Apparently it is quite common at this stage and often moves out of the way in time for a normal birth... let's hope so. Got to have another scan at 28 weeks.

Hello Weirdbird! We have the same due date! Who's the fourth due on Boxing Day, Olihan?

Poor Carameli and Spina having house nightmares too. It's really not what you need on top of the whole pregnant / baby thing!

jabberwocky · 14/08/2006 11:58

Well, ds's birthday party was yesterday and I'm so glad to get it done! That may sound horrible, but I found the planning, etc. rather stressful. He did have a good time and that's what counts, but the timing got a bit off and some guests didn't leave until almost 2 hours after I had intended for it to be over! (Have learned from experience to put a "from" and "til" on the invites) I was completely exhausted but then found that I couldn't rest well and have been up since about 4:30 am - it's 6:00 here.

accessorizequeen · 14/08/2006 13:39

All of this house moving stuff sounds awful, really hope it gets sorted out for you (loulou, carameli, spina and now poss castles!). I'm at least hoping that the staying put with a newborn may help me avoid pnd although this house is starting to look awfully small with the spare room gone (nowhere to hang up all of those cloth nappies for a start! hmmm, like I've bought any yet).
Indigestion is permanent with me now. I just keep gaviscon in every room & swig it several times a day, don't think anything in particular is causing it just the bump.
And just to make you all feel better about the weight gain, was told I am in fact G cup, not E on weekend arrrrggghh. So I'll be M by time milk's in, oh joy.
Welcome weirdbird hope we haven't scared you off , and congrats on scans to loulou & olihan - who's left now?

A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hubby is over the moon and I am in shock. I really thought it was a girl.

The sonogropher was ok but tried to make me take my belly bar out!! I said no and I have had it in for years without even taking it out for a C section!!!

Elibean · 14/08/2006 14:32

Oooo Magnolia, congrats on your son! And well done for hanging on to your belly bar

Speaking of bellies, well, heartburn - mine is dreadful and was last pregnancy too. In between the two, I found out I had a hiatus hernia - it never quite went away after dd1 and I take Zantac nightly or I can't sleep/lie down. FWIW, my OB has stated quite clearly that Zantac is fine in 2nd and 3rd trimesters, and I can take up to 6 tablets per day....so if any of you find the Gaviscon is really not doing the trick, and its beyond copeable with, you could always talk to your GPs/MWs whoever about taking Zantac. (Nope, don't work for them, just know what it feels like to cough and feel sick from heartburn )

Castles...that sounds like sooo much. I was feeling stressed about dd starting nursery, and me starting the third trimester, and suchlike...but a house move and ds starting school is lots lots more. I hope it all goes smoothly!

Is anyone else feeling emotional at the drop of a hat? And more tired? I was feeling sort of emotionally solid and bouncy till around 22 weeks, but now I'm suddenly heavier, more tired, and burst into tears this morning for no particular reason..is this pregnancy? I don't remember from first time around, but then I didn't have a moody 2.7 year old around then either...

And, hello Weirdbird!

Elibean · 14/08/2006 14:34

Jabberwocky, have taken your tip for party invites onboard....dd's will have to be early (don't fancy a 3 yr old's party probably 2-3 weeks post-section/with new baby!) and I'll be very pregnant and time limit sounds like excellent idea. I'm also going to be mean and keep it tiny
And a belated happy birthday to your ds

jabberwocky · 14/08/2006 14:43

Definitely, elibean, and watch the clock so it doesn't slip up on you like mine did. We had 7 or 8 kids (it's a blur already) and even that was too much. I'd say 3 or 4 would be nice.

As far as emotional things go, my libido has been quite on the upswing Dh doesn't know quite what to think of it.

Elibean · 14/08/2006 14:47

Ah, sadly I think that stage has passed now...I had the libido bit from about 16 weeks till about 22 weeks. Have fun!

And thanks for the feedback: yes, I'd love to keep it to 3 or 4 and tbh, I think dd would be fine with that. The important bit for her is still to be The Birthday Girl, feel important, blow out candles, open pressies, and eat cake. She doesn't need 15 friends round to do that...

Mind you, she's starting pre-school in September, so who knows what she'll want by November!

magnolia1 · 14/08/2006 14:48

Same here for libido
Dh got lucky last night and this morning

Devongirl · 14/08/2006 15:46

Don't judge me - has anyone else woken up having an orgasm since they've been pregnant? I did this morning and apparently it's quite common, but I've never done it before!

Devongirl · 14/08/2006 15:46

Devongirl · 14/08/2006 16:26

Oh no - was embarrassed enough about asking that, and now I've asked it twice!

Loulou000 · 14/08/2006 16:32

Magnolia, can you really leave a belly button piercing in? I keep thinking I will have to take mine out soon. And congrats on your son!

I am indeed very tired, Elibean, but have been all along really.

Devongirl - hmm, yes. My first trimester was interesting in that respect. All sorts of dreams and waking up quite excited. It's calmed down now, which is a bit of a relief!

castlesintheair · 14/08/2006 18:27

Elibean, yes emotional wreck most of the time now, especially when I come on MN and people say nice things Going to ask at docs about Zantac as I can't sleep/lie down either.
Congrats Magnolia on the scan and a boy too. You just have to have another 3 now to even things up
Libido is zilch and has been all pregnancy. Same thing used to happen to me Devongirl pre-babies but not anymore. Don't be embarrassed - it's good to hear someone is having fun!!

jabberwocky · 14/08/2006 19:00

Devongirl - err, yes

Re: belly button ring, I left mine in the whole time last time with no problems. Just got back from appt today though and she mentioned it looked a little stretched and thought I might want to switch to one of those plastic pregnancy ones.

magnolia1 · 14/08/2006 20:46

Haven't woken up to orgasm but blimey it's much easier to have one at the moment
Poor Dh, Isn't it supposed to be men who only last a few seconds

I have always changed to a circular ring at the end of pregnancy and its been fine

Loulou000 · 15/08/2006 09:49

Plastic pregnancy belly button rings? The mind boggles. Maybe I'll try a circular ring and see how that goes. Don't want my body tearing in any more places than strictly necessary... ;)

Indith · 15/08/2006 10:46

Hello! Thought I'd pootle over here and say hello, I'm due 28/12 and its the first one, I can just see myself going into labour at new years and having to dodge the drunks to take an ambulance to hospital......

Just got around to finally buying some clothes I could wear and of course its got freezing cold up here so I have to go shopping again! Why is it that the only affordable maternity sections are determined to make you look like an even more frumpy and dowdy version of your mother?

weirdbird · 15/08/2006 12:24

I used the plastic pregnancy one during my first pregnancy, the only word of warning i have is to wait quite a while before trying to change it back, I took mine out a week or 2 after birth and then couldn't get either the metal or the plastic one back in!!!

So all that faffing and ended up without it in the end after all....

weirdbird · 15/08/2006 12:29

Hi Elibean,

They found out I had a hiatus hernia at the beginning of this pregnancy and they think I developed it last time but my stupid GP just fobbed me off saying that throwing up with indegestion was normal

So am on medication as well, but this is from the hospital.

Had a lovely orgasm in my sleep as well last night, I always say that pregnancy dreams are the best, very realistc, much more so than normal!!

and as sex is probably out for me till I actually want to induce labour it is quite welcome i tell you!!
