purple, I feel for you, the weekends are really hard when you know you should have help. My mum is a godsend too!! Dont know what I'd do without her, just as someone to talk to if nothing else!

Cavort · 08/12/2013 22:19

Oh gawd, I appear to have entirely accidentally got a bit pissed on Baileys while decorating the tree. Tonight's 2 hour extravaganza is going to be particularly painful. Blush

Alexandra6 · 08/12/2013 22:22

We just finished decorating our tree in between contractions! Grin Jealous of the baileys, I stuck to non alcoholic mulled wine!

Purplemonster · 08/12/2013 22:34

Angry arghhh I've been dealing with a grouchy poorly baby all weekend with mo help as usual. She's been tetchy all night, I've fed her, held her, changed her, played with her and was bouncing her in her chair to try to calm her when that fucking arsehole sighed, shifted his arse away from the laptop and snatched her up out of the chair since I am obviously not doing a good enough job of keeping her quiet. When I then rubbed my temples (banging head, no wonder) he said 'what's wrong with you' and I said that I don't get a break and he spat at me 'you do get a break, you get a break when your mum has her'

Apparently an hour a week is all the free time I'm entitled to. I don't know whether to cry, scream or beat his head in with a shovel. What a wanker.

Pass the Baileys Cavort will ya? Smile

Purplemonster · 08/12/2013 22:47

On the plus side she's screaming her head off at him

MotherOfCleo · 08/12/2013 23:03

Beat his head in with a shovel!!! Definitely!!! My god he really does sound like a prize penis! Mines a bloody dream by comparison.

Purplemonster · 08/12/2013 23:11

Honestly, I am stunned by what a prize arsehole he has turned into. I had no idea he was such a twat. His previous partner left him when their son was only 3 months old. It all makes sense now.

Sorry about the moaning, the germy baby has infected me and my Mum too so I won't be getting my hour of blatantly failing weight loss attempt leisure time this week. I don't mean to be all 'woe is me'. Alex, can you tell that baby to hurry along to cheer me up?

Quodlibet · 08/12/2013 23:55

Oh Purple that is worse than useless. I told you before, kill him and feed him to the dogs.

Cavort, you have earned my DP's heartfelt thanks: I have been a vile grumpy crying hormonal lump all day but we have just done a TENS test run to ease off the back pain that has been nagging me, and apparently I looked like I was on drugs and have turned into 'a nice woman' again.

Alexandra6 · 09/12/2013 03:12

I'm sorry he's being like that purple Sad

Some news to distract you though - my waters broke! Am in hospital now in the waiting room!!! We were only asleep for a couple of hours (wish I'd had an early night!) and then I went to the loo after a contraction woke me up and it all came gushing out when I was coming back out the bathroom! Very exciting. My legs started shaking but have calmed down now. Eeeeeeeeek! janey didn't want to text and wake you up but thought you might see on here if you're up with Miles Smile

Wish me luck! No idea what happens from here as my mind has suddenly gone blank?!?!

MotherOfCleo · 09/12/2013 03:56

Ohhh so so exciting alex!!! Hope that kick starts things for you and we soon have another berry baby to get all gooey over Grin Grin

Have everything crossed for a nice simple labour for you! Eeek I am so excited for you!! Grin Grin Grin Grin

I'm up with Harvey, gave him a nice cuddle before feeding him and he fell back to sleep and now wont wake up. Now what are the chances of me getting away with putting him down?? Hmm

Alexandra6 · 09/12/2013 03:56

Damn it, being sent home, she thinks I'm only dilated "a fingertip" so need to wait it out. Although she then realised I was booked for induction at 8am so says to come back then and be admitted.

Suddenly a bit concerned I've had tons of contractions and not that dilated - was really hoping I'd be 8cm or something without realising!

Alexandra6 · 09/12/2013 03:57

P.S eeeeeeeeeek! Grin

Cavort · 09/12/2013 04:26

Ooo Alex it is happening, albeit slowly. After 5 days of them and I was only 2.5cm, I had concluded that contractions might mean a baby is coming but might also mean absolutely fuck-all and are just a painful annoyance which stop you sleeping at a time when you really need some sleep. Confused Now your waters have gone you will be having a baby very soon no matter what. Grin

Purple I don't know how you manage to stay as calm as you do with your OH. I get rage just thinking about it and I don't even know him! I think you need something a tad stronger than Baileys

Glad the TENS is helping already Quod. It really is sooo good in early labour. Smile

Why haven't I got round to learning how to work my tens machine!!! Oh well might give DH and I something to do if we're sitting around in hospital when I'm readmitted in a couple of hours.

Wow definitely a baby in 24 hours...all feels so surreal!

Cavort · 09/12/2013 04:50

Alex get the TENS on! You will be kicking yourself you didn't get it on sooner when you feel how good it is. Having said that, I'm guessing your contractions aren't that painful yet if you can do without it and have had some sleep. Either that or you are hard as nails. Grin

This time tomorrow you will probably be holding your baby. Grin

janey1234 · 09/12/2013 07:04

Ooooh Alex how bloody exciting!!! How you getting on now?

Thanks for not texting, my folks arrived just after you left last night and have kindly swapped bedrooms for THREE nights - sleepville here we come Smile Kept waking last night as I thought I could hear him crying, but hopefully tonight I will relax more. Either way I had a LOT of sleep and it was lovely....

So bloomin' excited for you Alex!!! Hope you're coping ok and good luck for 8am. Keep in touch if you can and see you very very soon with your new baby!xxxx

janey1234 · 09/12/2013 07:05

Oh and purple - shovel is the only way forward by the sounds of it Hmm

HazleNutt · 09/12/2013 07:28

V woke up at 9, 11, 12, 12.30, 1, 1.30..you get the pattern. And didn't necessarily sleep in between, but whined and shuffled around. The most sleep I got was between 5 and 7 when I put him in our bed.

And Blackberry already full of work emails where I have to do other people's work for them. Confused I don't like Mondays.

Quodlibet · 09/12/2013 07:50

Very very excited for Alex! Though if you are in the hospital at 4am and they want you back at 8am why on earth don't they give you a bed and let you have a nap?!

So a question for those of you who know: when is a BH actually a proper contraction? Been getting a few through the night that feel stronger than normal BH and kind of achy in the pelvic floor region, but not painful.

MotherOfCleo · 09/12/2013 07:51

Hazel Harvey was great until he woke at 4, then shuffled and moaned till 5, I fed him and tried to put him down where he shuffled and moaned and cried for 30 mins so in the end I put him in with me...so he slept well and I didnt. Sad

Now my OH has gone to work and not put the dog in the kitchen like hes meant to, its bin day so she will love standing in the lounge barking at the bin men, so much for catching up on some sleep this morning Sad grrrr men huh. I could go down and sort her out but seeing me would only get her over excited.

excited for you alex!

Cavort · 09/12/2013 09:26

Sad Sad Sad Hazle. Were all those wakings hunger or was he just restless?

Quod in my case I just knew. A contraction was very distinguishable from BH when I got one. Sorry, that's a crap explanation, I hope someone else can do better. Blush

Awake time was 03.45-06.15 last night. I think we are definitely past any kind of regession so these wakings must be just normal now. Sad On the plus side, she is still asleep now. Smile

Purplemonster · 09/12/2013 09:44

Good luck Alex, not long now!

HazleNutt · 09/12/2013 09:50

He was feeding every time he woke up, so must have been at least a little hungry. But didn't always fall asleep immediately again, as he usually does - instead was waving his arm, kicking with legs, whining and moaning. I really do hope it's just a phase. And will get him a lambskin for the crib, just in case he's uncomfortable or something. whatever works.

MotherOfCleo · 09/12/2013 09:58

random question but I seem to be making excess milk, about 7/8oz a day. Is my body preparing for something or am I just a very good daisy the cow? Confused Ive not upped my expressing just seem to get more now. I'm running out of pots to freeze it in Blush

MotherOfCleo · 09/12/2013 10:04

oh and where is everyone getting their lambskin from?
