I shall check the rain situation and then may venture out for a short walk and see how he does. Cheers janey.

Geez hazel, feel for you!

MotherOfCleo · 16/12/2013 10:09

doh....cheers hazel not janey.....can you tell I havent slept Wink Blush

Cavort · 16/12/2013 10:44

I too am very glad that all your babies sleep just as badly as ours does! It's reassuring (in a bad way) and I selfishly dread the day when all your babies start sleeping well and mine is still being a PITA! There just doesn't seem to be any consistency to it other than the 2 hour wake up, which has been a regular fixture for a good month now, but one night she will sleep, say, 7-3 and then 4.30-8 and the next night (like last night Angry) she went to bed at 7.30 and woke at 7.45, 8.30, 12.30, 01.30-04.00 wide awake, 05.30, 06.15 and then got up at 08.00. Gah!!!

I agree about the flights Hazle. Other passengers attitudes to babies on flights are very unhelpful sometimes.

Ah yes, and I have been on the scales this morning for the first time in a while and I am now half a stone under pre-pg weight, despite my eating like a horse. I would of course rather be fat with a good nights sleep, but as that doesn't seem to be an option then at least weight loss is some small consolation.

Nice work Cavort!

And blimey Mother 5 weeks and 2 days to dtd? That's pretty amazing! We have now managed it twice :(

Was so bad that I am utterly depressed about trying again. And DP doesn't seem keen either for the same reason. Tho H not sleeping before 10pm at night may not be helping.

Sounds like you're well equipped to handle the sniffles anyway :)

I think it's because he's been poorly but H has gone 6 hours twice in the last few days. I think that's a major reason I've recovered from evil bug so fast!

So where we up to on the berry countdown? Who's next?

MotherOfCleo · 16/12/2013 12:35

Thanks brave have to say it was only due to his persistence!! I dont exactly feel like it with a saggy belly an leaky boobs Confused Blush

Harvs seems a bit better, he is feeding better at least. Very clingy though.

Nice work cav!!!! Jealous!

I have my work xmas lunch tomorrow and hoped to be back in normal clothes, but my jeans of choice are a bit snug due to saggy untoned belly and uncomfy due to my scar....doh.

BlearyeyedLol · 16/12/2013 16:21

Greetings from sunshine paradise. About to have lunch in the balcony facing a lovely deep blue seaGrin
Flight was ok, I had no cot so L spent all time on lap but behaved herself fairly well. Luckily for me no angry looks.
Cav I'm Envy of your wight loss. I must be eating enough for 3 so as I'm not losing weight but not putting on any either!

janey1234 · 16/12/2013 19:20

Greetings lol! Very envious indeed of you being abroad, if not of your flight. Hope you have an amazing time x

God I love M's bedtime, my favourite part of the day. It goes broadly like this.

5.50-6.10 DISCO . Him in jumperoo, me bouncing around the room pointing at him and waving my arms around. Each disco tends to have a theme or featured artist; Last night's was Christmas songs, tonight the lovely and cheesy JT.

6.15pm M knackered post disco. Bath him in the lounge. Let him splash around.

6.20-6.35 dry and massage him, listening to classy and calming music

6.40-6.55 feed him upstairs, put him down awake in his cot.

7.05pm M fast asleep.

This is pretty much the ONLY part of the day that follows a proper routine day in, day out (touch wood, prob won't work tomorrow now I've said that). He's soooo good at going down on his own, settling himself to sleep, and being in his own cot.

What happens to him from 10pm onwards?!

Anyway can recommend the disco as part of the routine to anyone, he honestly seems to fall asleep more easily since I started doing it. Think he's whacked!

janey1234 · 16/12/2013 19:22

Oh cav also soooo jealous of your weight loss. I'm at pre preg weight now but would love to be half a stone lighter given I want to have lost a stone by the time I get married. Maybe my leaping around the lounge each night will help me shed some?!

CatsCantFlyFast · 17/12/2013 08:25

Please can I have a ticket to the disco?? Or a video GrinGrin

MotherOfCleo · 17/12/2013 09:22

Quick question,my smp started last monday, when should I expext to be paid?

Cavort · 17/12/2013 10:19

Mother mine gets paid monthly through work just like my normal salary did.

Janey I love the sound of your disco! Do you have glow sticks and strobe lighting? Grin We were throwing some shapes to Christmas songs yesterday morning until Cliff Richard came on but maybe I should move it to bedtime? The last 2 nights have been absolutely terrible so I could do with a new tactic to wear her out before bed before I have to resort to sedatives (for me not E, so I sleep through the wakings Grin)

Morning all, think I have had my induction through the gates of sleepless hell. Little one was up pretty much all night last night either feeding or shrieking to be fed. Not sure my milk is effectively reaching her yet as I am really struggling for her to be satisfied after a feed. It is hardcore this BF malarkey! Luckily DP is being incredible and tag teaming with me so that I can get short stretches wherever possible. Zzz.

Alexandra6 · 17/12/2013 15:10

quod that's what I've been going through! And worrying about the not enough milk thing too! It's tough isn't it. Let me know how you get on and any tips you try or anything. Im desperately trying to feed more during the day in the hope she'll need less at night. They need a sympathy emoticon with big dark bags under the eyes for times like this Wink

Purplemonster · 17/12/2013 16:40

We have a sympathy icon, it's this Wine Grin

I don't think anyone expects breast feeding to be as hard as it is but it honestly does get easier.

BlearyeyedLol · 17/12/2013 17:18

I love the disco idea!
Over here I took L to the beach today and she seemed to enjoy it. Sea was a bit rough so we just got her wet. And the side effect is that we came back and she slept for 2.5 hoursGrin
However may I remind you she does not seem to understand we are 3 hours behind and has woken up at 5 for the last 2 days.
Quod I feel your pain. These early days are really hard and we do doubt ourselves in terms of having enough milk. But soldier on and believe you are doing the right thing. Babies are hungry regardless.
On other news I have given L a bit of mango in a mesh feeder and she seemed to love the novelty of it! Do you use it? Also gave her a bit of coconut water which was a bit of a mixed response. Hope this does not cause stinky nappies yet Grin

Alexandra6 · 17/12/2013 18:10

Envy of lol and the beach!

Just back from first my midwife app and she said it's normal for them to lose a bit of weight but Sophia was the same weight as when she was born. I'm pleased as hopefully that means things are going well with BF and she is getting enough milk. The midwife said she thinks so and keep doing whatever I'm doing. I said that'll be the hours of feeding all night and no sleep with a slightly hysterical laugh She also did the heel blood test but I was feeding her at the time so she barely stopped scoffing to cry!

When did the other berry mums have Wine as I really fancy a glass tonight - too soon with a newborn?

CatsCantFlyFast · 17/12/2013 18:18

Have wine, you deserve it!

MotherOfCleo · 17/12/2013 19:02

alex you 100% deserve some Wine !!!!

janey1234 · 17/12/2013 19:05

Urm first night out of hospital I had some Blush

I blame the stress of the intensive care stay for having it so soon rather than my boozy youth

Cavort · 17/12/2013 20:13

Absolutely not too soon Alex, get on it! BFing is bloody tough enough without denying yourself, and the same goes for chocolate. Grin I went straight for the ice cold beer after having E as she was born at the beginning of that hot spell. I think it was about a month before I fancied a wine but have made up for it since.

Good news Lol, E loves mango. And everything else I have given her so far for that matter, the little porker. She is definitely not going to be a fussy eater just a crap sleeper. Good point about the time difference. If we go on holiday I must remember to go the opposite direction so she goes to bed late and wakes up late. At least after 5 weeks away L will give you a lie in when you get home.

MotherOfCleo · 17/12/2013 20:20

I have just heard you can get 400g bars of cadburys this christmas, I NEED one of those in my life!!

All this talk of booze makes me crave a starwberry and lime cider, ironically I only have the booze free version left over from when I was preggo....doh, that's just not going to cut it. Wink

Cavort · 17/12/2013 20:30

Mother dispatch your OH to get you some?

OP posts:
MotherOfCleo · 17/12/2013 21:10

haha cav he's at the gym this evening, plus he's dieting so doesn't condone my need for chocolate Wink how bloody rude huh, didn't see him giving up booze while I was pregnant!! Grin
