Pretty worried the lady next to me keeps tutting and swearing every time her baby cries. And earlier she started shouting at him. When lunch came around she walked off and left him laying on the bed with no one there I didnt go to collect any lunch as I was worried about him she was gone for 15minute! Do you think I need to say something to the midwife?

LadyMedea · 02/12/2013 22:49

Hey mum it's been me with the super unhappy bits. Swelling can be normal apparently but sore for me has been a case of really resistant thrush. Had lots of canesten pessaries and eventually cracked and took a flucanazole capsule yesterday (not recommended in pregnancy but I did my research and felt safe taking it). Discharge is now subsiding (only had that v recently) and swelling has almost gone. Feel so much more comfortable.

I would recommend you try treating for thrush with a pessary and see if it improves - get one from your GP or get DP to buy it for you at the chemist (they won't sell it to you). It won't do any harm and might help!

chelsea that's not good Sad I would mention it- only so at least you've said something and then the mw can decide whether or not to approach her about it. Just my thoughts tho.

Hmm lady yeah it could be thrush or something- maybe I should see the doc. I thought the slight green bits (yuk sorry tmi) were from my mucus plug and they may be but I should probably make sure. I know you can get thrush quite high up so maybe that's why I'm not getting the usual itchy symptoms. Or it could just be a puffy fanjo due to imminent labour Shock

PinkWitch803 · 02/12/2013 23:32

chelsea I agree with mum, you should mention it. Maybe make a note so you can be specific.

Btw lovely name for your little princess. Congrats

Mogz · 03/12/2013 00:01

Do mention it Chelsea, it could be someone has already picked up on it but they can't have eyes everywhere all of the time.

Aaaand well that's me officially overdue [streamers] [balloons]

Roselau · 03/12/2013 01:32

aww mogz that sucks. at least you wont be overdue over christmas, whereas i'm bound to be, with a due date of 21/12 ...

Mogz · 03/12/2013 01:50

I'd better bloody not be Rose! Tomorrow (or should that be later today?) the eviction efforts start in earnest. Problem is I don't much like pineapple, can't stand anything spicier than a korma, live in a bungalow and if DH comes anywhere near me with come to bed eyes he's likely to get bits chopped off! Guess I'd better woman up and get on with it!

meandbumpy · 03/12/2013 03:04

Up and awake, again, arrgh! Hmm Lol, been having BH and period pain getting more intense through the night (more like first day intense ones than general) There is so much pressure pushing down on my bits, how can nothing be happening down there? MW couldn't feel a thing when she examined me on Saturday, and she really did get stuck in with a thorough inspection!

Hope everybody is getting a good nights sleep and plenty of rest. Had some hot milk and off for another try at kip, see you all in the morning Smile

froubylou · 03/12/2013 03:21

I'm awake too. Again. Sigh.

Really want a drink and some gaviscon but both are downstairs and I don't want to actually get out of bed.

Suppose I will have to.

Definitely mention it chelsea. Sounds like mum is struggling a bit.

Had my 38 week appointment yesterday and all is well. Mw again adamant baby not breech though. Until he kicked her hand from just above my pubic bone as she was explaining to student if he was breech I would feel lots of low down kicks lol.

Off for a drink. And gaviscon. And I have an urge for an apple for some bizarre reason!

Mogz · 03/12/2013 03:51

Still awake here too, did have the forethought to bring Rennie to bed but not any paracetamol or a glass of water so am going to have to brave the bloody cold tiles in the kitchen.
meand hope your BHs go somewhere soon, it's all good practice for your body.
frouby what a pesky baby, what's he doing hanging about the wrong way up! You'll have to do some handstands to see if you can turn him!

lisbapalea · 03/12/2013 03:51

I'm awake too! Thanks to dd who wanted to come into our bed at 3am and put up a bit of a fight when we said no. She's now happily asleep again in her own bed but I'm wide awake!! I just cannot get back to sleep if something wakes me in the night these days.

Chelsea I would also mention it to a mw - hope you get some rest and peace of mind.

froubylou · 03/12/2013 04:02

mogz he is a norty boy lol.

He has been breech, transverse, head down but back to back, diagonal and every possible position you can think of over the last 10 weeks. But breech for the last 3 and consultant seems to think he is stuck now. There is a possibility I have a heart shaped womb so not going to attempt to turn him.

Booked in for a elcs a week on Friday. Had elcs with DD for same reason so not too worried about it all.

Would have liked to attempt a vbac but not worth risking me or the baby unnecessarily. So elcs it is.

Given up and going to get a drink lol.

Wait until we are all awake feeding all night. Not long now!

froubylou · 03/12/2013 05:29

Whoop whoop.

Well am still awake which is not good news. But have been waiting to hear from my MA application. I only realised I may be entitled to something after a thread on here and sent the forms off a couple of weeks ago. Just checked online banking and I have had a payment so am obviously entitled to it.

Happy days. Off shopping later lol.

BohemianRaspberry · 03/12/2013 06:10

Congrats frouby! And chelsea I would mention it, sounds like she's really not coping.

I've been wide awake since 5am with an assortment of cramping, twitches and waves of nausea. Managed to lose some plug yesterday which indicates there's something starting.

Problem is, I wanted to go into town today and get some bits done. Is it now worth it? I'm over-analysing at the moment because I can!

everythinghippie29 · 03/12/2013 06:30

Awake, no sign of anything happening. Yesterday I felt quite a lot of pressure below and really mild period pain but nothing anymore. Sad

I am however back on the insomnia train and am STARVING hungry. I've done all the house work, (some bits many times over) so going to relax tomorrow and just cross my fingers! Can't believe how impatient I'm feeling! Grin

BetterWithCheese · 03/12/2013 06:46

Well I have my last full day of work today but I officially finish on Friday. Am a bit crampy this morning which is unusual, I've had a few weeks of not much after having loads of cramps and BH from 28-34 weeks.

frouby great news about MA. I'm either entitled to SMP or MA but it's all a bit confusing as I officially change jobs on Monday! Waiting for HR from current job to let me know what's up.

chelsea Indiana is a lovely name. As to lady in other bed, yes do mention to midwife if you can. It must be so hard for you to see a newborn being treated that way Sad, hopefully she'll get some extra support.

Bohemian Hopefully you're getting things started.

Are there no babies today? Someone better pop one out, I'm getting used to waking up to news of squidgy newborns!

13loki · 03/12/2013 06:48

Congratulations abcd

I am wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans.

BetterWithCheese · 03/12/2013 06:53

Geez loki that is impressive, it took me about 6 months after my first and I expect that long again this time. Well done!

Chelsealady · 03/12/2013 08:11

better thats what happened to me nothing for aygees, then cramps then 3 hours later my waters went then 6ish hours later contractions started then 2 hours and 20 minutes later I was staring at my Indiana. Keep posotive this may be it!

And just goes to prove to all the ladies that arent feeling any signs that labour can happen all of a sudden so chins up ladies. These little bundles of joy have to come out at one point they wont be in there forever :)

extracrunchy · 03/12/2013 08:20

Chelsea I needed to hear that - thanks. I am so exhausted with SPD and toddler and no sleep just totally had enough Sad and then feel like a big baby complaining!

Chelsealady · 03/12/2013 08:38

All of you lovely ladies who are already mummys what happened with your stretch marks? I just looked in the mirror and i was horrified to see my stomach smothered in big thick purple stretch marks:( im not rven bothered about the weight just the stretch marks.

Once my mum had me hers went silvery and shrunk what about everyone else?

extracrunchy · 03/12/2013 08:45

Mine went silvery and shrunk too - just takes a little while and lots of moisturising

meandbumpy · 03/12/2013 09:16

Oh i thought you guys were all sound asleep last night but no such luck I see. Sorry for everybody who's not getting much sleep at the moment, it's frustrating when we're meant to be resting!

Thanks for the positivity chelsea, it really is needed. How are you getting on with Indiana?

Whoop for MA frouby!

Great news about the jeans Loki, what's your secret?? Lol

Had phone call with my mum and she managed to pull off just about every faux pas in one fell sweep. Here's what she said:
-Contractions and labour will be the most painful thing ever, I'm going to struggle.
-Can I please not have the baby this week as she won't be able to visit. Next week fits her schedule much better.
-It would be very inconsiderate for people to turn up unannounced when we're at home with the baby, except for her of course, she can turn up whenever she feels like it because she's special.
-Can dp please call her with regular updates throughout the labour to let her know what's going on because she doesn't want to miss anything.
-Being pregnant ruins a woman's body and I will never get my figure back or like myself again.
And my personal favourite - I'm not to forget that my grandma died in childbirth having my dad, so am to 'be careful'

I mean, what the actual fuck!?!
Yeah thanks mum, impressive even for you. Discussed with dp and have decided not to let her know when we go in to MLU and make up an excuse of not having enough time afterwards. If we tell her she will be straight in the car to the hospital and trying muscle her way in and scare monger.

froubylou · 03/12/2013 09:29

Oh Bumpy that sounds like a good conversation lol. I wasn't going to announce to everyone when I was in labour either, just those that needed to know like my mum to collect DD. But if it had been a weekend when DD was at her dads I wouldn't have told her as she is liable to do the same. Think its a mum thing.

Feel a bit odd today. Hmmm. Had crampy pains all night, and baby was having a party. Think my bump has dropped a bit and he is bouncing off my fanjo with his bum. His head is still wedged under my ribcage somewhere and I think he has decided he is coming out arse first. Off to finish my christmas shopping today so hope nothing drastic happens whilst I am in town lol. Be just my luck.

Loki you have pinged back quick!

Chelsea I am incredibly lucky in that I didn't get any, but dsis got loads and they have faded to silver now. In fact you can hardly see them. Plenty of moisteriser and perhaps some of that firming body cream might help?

Could somebody possibly add me to the stats thread when they get a min? on phone and its rubbish. Am due 20/12, team blue and have 1 dd already but am having a elcs on 13/12. Thanks muchly!

meandbumpy · 03/12/2013 09:36

Yeah I think it is a mum thing frouby.
Tell that baby of yours to hang tight til the 13th and enjoy your crimbo shopping!
