coco808 · 23/11/2013 17:50

Jaykay, DH and I had a long chat today and we have decided to go for the harmony test. Could I please ask if you are going to the FMC?

teaandkittens · 23/11/2013 19:24

mrsb I am gulping down mugs of lemon, honey and ginger. hoping my brain will think it's lemsip and make me less congested!!

Blueberry234 · 23/11/2013 19:27

How is everyone coping with the exhaustion especially those of you with toddlers? I have my 3 yr old tomorrow whilst my H works and the thought of trying to entertain him all day out of the house (H working from home) currently makes me want to weep!

Casmama · 23/11/2013 19:35

Hi ladies can I join? Due dc2 on 11th July. Was a little superstitious about joining but had a scan on Friday with a good strong heartbeat so feeling a bit more confident now.

Casmama · 23/11/2013 19:37

Blueberry- how about softplay- you sit with a cup of tea and large piece of cake whilst he tires himself out

Blueberry234 · 23/11/2013 19:48

Casmama that could work but they are all either filthy or ram packed with 6-8 yr olds and he just get trampled!

Was thinking I may take him to kids cinema if anything ok on. Then I may be able to doze!

justhayley · 23/11/2013 20:12

Wow so many symptoms flying about. I don't feel like a real pregnant person yet. Not that I enjoy feeling sick and exhausted but it would take some of he panic away. Did another test today and got another strong positive. Just wish I could see GP next week and get a scan pay have to go private

Pearlsaplenty · 23/11/2013 20:20

Mrs b exciting news on your scan :)

fiveleaves my scan at 6 weeks was internal and 8 weeks was external

blueberry I think the idea of cinema is good. Is there an enclosed playground near you? I have found these great with ds as I can jut sit and watch him. Depends on weather though.

For names we have first and middle for a boy :) but nothing for a girl :( we really need to work on some girl short lists. Although I do think we will be having another boy.

Blueberry234 · 23/11/2013 20:41

I think we may do cinema, lunch and either park or local NT property if weather ok.

I have a few ideas for names

Boy
William
Henry
Zachary
Louis

Girls
Tabitha
Beatrice
Hannah
Clara
Matilda

But as I have umpteen weeks to go I bet what we use won't be on the list.

jaykay987 · 23/11/2013 22:04

Congrats on the scan mrsb!

Loads of questions at mw - my faves were...your husband is called x, can I assume the baby is his?
And.......are you and your DH related.

Other than that....few questions about my family medical history. Was it planned? Am I happy to keep it?

Nothing I couldn't easily answer.

Coco - yes, Im booked into fmc. Are you think of going there?

elliejjtiny · 23/11/2013 23:53

littleangel my sickness was worst with my eldest. That could be because I had more time to think about it though.

re names We've had an unused girls name picked since I was pregnant with DS3. With the boys name after we'd stared at the pg test in shock for a few mins DH suggested a boys name and I agreed with him and suggested a middle name. Job done. We picked most of our children's names really quickly, you'd think we'd have run out of ideas by now with all these boys Grin.

re toddlers We watch a lot of cbeebies Blush. Trying to do more with DS3 and DS4 and more housework to take my mind off the nausea and to prove to people that I can cope with 5.

6+6

talulahbelle · 24/11/2013 07:59

I have woken up today and just don't feel pregnant. Got a nice strong line really quickly on my last test though.
Weirdly some morning sickness would be really nice right now.

coco808 · 24/11/2013 09:17

Jaykay i'm thinking of going to the fmc too. Are you going at 10 w + 12 w?

snowpink · 24/11/2013 09:22

Yay after weeks of virtually no symptoms, I felt sick at breakfast and the thought of coffee makes me gag! (I had this the last pregnancies as well) I'm 6+2 today so maybe symptoms are only kicking in now. I was getting really really worried. But I know they come and go as well so I'm trying not to think about it too much until Wednesday when I have my first scan.

Mrs B, could you put me on the list with due date 18.7. please? Thank you.

Howly · 24/11/2013 09:22

Talulahbelle I feel the same, paranoid something's gonna go wrong and had to do another test to make sure I was still pregnant on thurs - bit silly!

I've had no sickness, no more tired than usual but have been very bloated (from eating badly) and do have the full feeling in boobs with sore nipples!

Keep getting random cramps like period pains, but no blood at all!

Howly · 24/11/2013 09:24

Does everyone have this early scan or do you request it/ go private?

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 24/11/2013 09:26

ellie

we have 5 boys and one girl and I still struggle with the girls names more!
we have 9 nephews and 9 nieces all with same surname as us (as they are MrZing's brother's kids, not my side) so I can't choose any of their names.Sad
my eldest niece is Anna, which was my favourite name since I was 8 (one of my best friends then) and I might be tempted to use it as a middle name.

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 24/11/2013 09:33

all of you who have no sickness/ nausea remember that not everyone gets those symptoms yet they have perfectly healthy babies.
also being sick guarantees nothing either, I was sick for weeks with my 5th pg, but it ended in a MC at 11+5.

so if you are not physically sick thank your lucky stars and do not wish you were!
it's bloody horrible!
once I had a bad cold with blocked nose and puking up mashed potatoes blocked my throat like a sticky plug and I couldn't breathe for about 30-40 seconds.
it was very scary.
I don't eat mashed potatoes when pg anymore.

Pearlsaplenty · 24/11/2013 10:28

zing we find girl names hard too, I think because there are so many more to choose from and so many different 'types' of girl names. I really like Anna too, but can't use as it has a personal negative connotation.

howly I think you only get early scans if you have problems like bleeding or history of problems. Otherwise you pay privately.

jaykay987 · 24/11/2013 12:18

Yep howly - private scan here.

Coco - yes Im booked I for bloods and quick ultrasound at 10w+3 and then nuchal scan and hopefully harmony results at 12w+3 (which also happens to be Xmas eve - so fingers crossed all is ok).

I preparing myself for the harmony not working. Im overweight and see the results don't always work. Keeping my fingers crossed it does though.

Littleangel21 · 24/11/2013 12:48

I have found something that helps the sickness, briefly.... Ice lollies. I've had 3 this morning already! Staff in tesco think I'm mental xx

MrsA2 · 24/11/2013 12:58

Ha Littleangel that makes me smile to think of you buying three ice lollies when it's this chilly! Good tip though.

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 24/11/2013 13:12

littleangel

I wonder if you could have a few dozen delivered so the shop assistants won't suspect you're pg!

pearls

we like Biblical names and there are far more nice boys names in the Bible (especially nice ones) than girls!

DD is Elizabeth Grace - it was the only combination we both really liked through all the pgs since I was pg with DS1.

some of the girls' names I can't choose but love are Hannah, Rebecca, Miriam, Naomi and some of the boys are Thomas, Reuben, Benjamin, James, Raphael, Luke....

I think we'll have to go for "Pink" or "Blue".
or go PC and choose "Red"!Grin

Sparky321 · 24/11/2013 14:03

Thanks so much for the tip re ice lollies I have been feeling sooooo bad today after 3 I'm feeling a bit more human now

elliejjtiny · 24/11/2013 14:55

howly you have to pay if you want an early scan here. I managed to get one at 9 weeks with DS1 because I'd been spotting and a midwife who'd had 3 miscarriages herself took pity on me. But that meant I didn't get a 12 week scan and it was a long wait until the 20 week scan.

zing we like bible names too Smile. I love the name Miriam but DH doesn't. Esther was another one on my list that DH doesn't like. Thankfully we have found it easier to agree on boys names even though DH likes the more unusual ones and I prefer more popular names. I wonder if we have any double ups.
