Nah, the TMI posts are my favourite... Blush

AuntieMaggie · 23/11/2013 10:04

Been awake most of the night with a pain on one side of my stomach - feels like I've pulled a muscle or something so I'm hoping its nothing serious :(

teaandkittens · 23/11/2013 11:10

got a cold Sad

what can i take?? usually when I have sniffles I neck a bottle of brandy and drug myself up with the strongest cold remedies. Not sure if that's the most sensible idea now....Wink

DorotheaHomeAlone · 23/11/2013 11:13

Hi all,

I'm joining this thread quite tentatively as I'm 5w with my first DC and not really believing it yet. I've had no symptoms at all so far so am quite nervous that it won't stick. Hoping to be with you til 29 July though.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 23/11/2013 11:15

tea and kittens - I believe that paracetamol is ok.

MrsA2 · 23/11/2013 11:29

Has anyone started on names yet? I don't want to jinx things but we have a bit of a short list already - luckily we seem to be quite similar in opinion (so far...).

MrsA2 · 23/11/2013 11:30

Sorry about the pains ladies, and tea and kttens cold

AuntieMaggie · 23/11/2013 11:47

MrsA2 we can't agree on names at all. I like Annaliese for a girl but he is adament he wants Elouise and we're struggling for boys!

teaandkittens · 23/11/2013 12:04

I've had baby names ready for years! Unfortunately dh says no way. I think I'll win though, I'm the one carrying it!!!

Littleangel21 · 23/11/2013 12:21

Same, tea and kittens, I've always known what I'd call my little girl or boy. DH disagrees, however!

Feeling horrendously sick today. It's been 2 weeks of feeling unbelievably sick every day 24/7 and I'm only 6weeks 3 days. I think I'm going to have to tell my work because I just can't do anything. Apparently sickness is worse if it's your first, mums- please tell me this is true xxx

MrsA2 · 23/11/2013 12:28

AuntieMaggie I really like Annaliese but Eloise is lovely too (I'd spell it without the 'u' though).

I'm impressed that some of you have had names for years - good luck persuading the husbands!

LadyGoneGaga · 23/11/2013 13:47

Sorry, littleangel. But no. My first was my easiest in terms of the pregnancy. Labours get a bit easier, pregnancies don't seem to!

LadyGoneGaga · 23/11/2013 13:50

The other thing is with a first you can sleep when you want, eat when you want and generally look after yourself. It's much harder with two other little ones insisting you play with them and needing you to put them to bed before you get to go to yours. And they are not at all sympathetic about lie ins!

talulahbelle · 23/11/2013 14:46

littleangel chuck some of your sickness this way - I feel surprisingly normal, which worries me. I want lots of strong symptoms so I know I'm properly pregnant!

Names wise I have a few I like but nothing I'm set on - James/Jamie for a boy and possibly Lydia for a girl.

MrsA2 · 23/11/2013 16:19

Just back from buying some new bras in the next cup size, changed into one and that's SO much more comfortable!

Does make them look noticeably bigger now though - another thing to hide from work...

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 23/11/2013 16:34

littleangel

there's no rhyme or reason.
for me it was worst with my 3rd as i was physically sick every day from 5 weeks - 17 weeks (several times a day!) and the sickness returned at 7 months!

he was 6 days late and the last week was horrendous, I was sick 5-6 times a day.

I only put on a stone with him - but he was 9lb 6! Shock

MrsB2013 · 23/11/2013 16:35

Hi everyone!!

Had my scan this morning and there is a perfect little jelly bean!!! Saw the flickering heartbeat! I'm 8w+4 but measuring more like 9w, so we'll see what happens at the 12 week scan. The lady doing the scan checked my ovaries and said it came from the left one, which is what I thought as I had ov pain on that side, other thing she saw was a fibroid? Said it wont affect the pregnancy as its on the back wall of my womb, so will ask the MW about that on Mon.

talulah I've had no sickness at all which is why I had the early scan!

MrsA think I need new bras as my boobs feel huge, but don't want to buy a bigger size now, then in another 2 weeks need even bigger ones lol

MrsB

how could she tell which ovary the egh came from?
I never knew with any of mine, and I was never told!Shock

Fiveleaves · 23/11/2013 16:49

People getting scans! Exciting! I have had some cramps so may see if I can get an early scan after booking in appt next week. I'll be 9 weeks so would it be external or internal?

MrsB2013 · 23/11/2013 16:57

Zing I think she could see something on it? It did look darker than the right one tho!

Five mine was external, I think at 6-7 weeks it would be internal. You might have to go private for it, as I think you only get an early NHS scan if you've had bleeding or problems in the past, I could be wrong tho!!

OP posts:
Fiveleaves · 23/11/2013 17:11

Hi MrsB thanks for that. Past MC so hopefully will get one.

MrsA2 · 23/11/2013 17:15

Glad your scan went well MrsB

I know what you mean about having to buy again soon! I bought a couple of cheap ones and made sure I currently could wear on the tightest setting so hopefully room for a bit more growth still. Feels SO much better!

MrsB2013 · 23/11/2013 17:20

Teaanakittens I'm full of cold too, usually I take strong cold/flu tablets but only taking paracetamol twice a day, they don't really do much, what else is there to take??

coco808 · 23/11/2013 17:49

sounds exciting MrsB Smile
