With everyone on the nausea and exhaustion. Currently havimg a lie down but really must get up and finish prep for my work meeting tomorrow and work out what on earth I'm going to wear for it. The thought of being up and ready to leave the house by 7.30 including getting DS ready is making me feel more sick by the minute! On the plus side I have my early scan date 2nd Dec when I'll be 7+6. Strange though as it seems to be in the main xray/ultrasound dept rather than in the mat unit which is odd!

Re names we have a lovely girls name ready which didn't get used for DS obviously but really struggling to agree on a boys name.

Bother think just heard DS waking up from his nap-i was supposed to get my work done whilst he was asleep but been napping myself!

As Zing and others have said no sickness/nausea doesn't mean that there's something wrong. I've had none at all and my scan yesterday showed a perfect little jelly bean! I know there's still a long way to go yet, but so far so good.

I did ask the sonographer about no sickness, and she said don't worry, your just very lucky, and that every pregnancy is different, so next time I might not be so lucky!!

Coco I want to have the Harmony test done, but DH thinks its a lot of money and we should wait and see what the results from the 12 week combined scan/test says.

Has anyone else found the end of their nose is tingly at times! Since friday the tip of my nose has been tingling in the evening! Wierd! dunno if its a sympton or i'm eating more pepper!!

coco808 · 24/11/2013 19:26

I know what you mean MrsB, my DH is not happy about the cost either. My parents have given me some inheritance money to put towards the house. I asked them if I can use it for the Harmony and they are more than happy for me to do so. Other problem is, I don't completely trust the team involved in doing and assessing the scans in my local hospital. I don't think I will believe them, no matter what result they give me for the combined test Grin

Lauranne · 24/11/2013 19:34

Hello ladies,

Had my private scan today, saw the teensiest little heartbeat, feel much more at rest now. Looking more like six weeks than eight weeks but will wait for the 12 week scan before I change my due date in case it changes again. Exciting times ahead Grin

justhayley · 24/11/2013 19:38

Hiya,
Felt a little pregnant today Smile was absolutely shattered - although I have a 19 month old who STILL has never slept though the night so I'm always exhausted but today was more. I also walked passed greggs and it smelt like someone had cooked the pasties up my nose.

Names: I have a few girls names I really like,
Phoebe, Willow, Amelia & Darcey being favs but haven't thought seriously about any yet. If it's a girl though I would like to have 2 middle names, June being the 2nd one - after my nan. I'd use it alone but I don't really like the name don't think it makes sense having a July baby.
Boys like Josh/Joshua - although DP hated both variations when we were naming DS so thats unlikely, also like Ruben although not sure if flows that well with surname.
Anyway plenty of time to think of names, first step is just getting to 12 weeks.

Zing your mash story actually made me lol. I had the same experience with DS but with spicy pasta - my nose stung all night afterwards lol.

I didn't have any morning sickness with DS in the 1st trimester. Was sick very randomly in the 2nd and 3rd - smells mainly set me off, couldn't walk past a chicken or kebab shop without vomitting on the curbShock. Worst incidence was the week before I gave birth in wagamumas - I got sick on the tables in front of everyone straight into my meal - luuurrrvly!

fifi669 · 24/11/2013 20:37

I have a tingly nose too!

Although I haven't had sickness I'm def more delicate in that respect..... Could be because DS is potty training. Not good with the number 2s.... Confused

Howly · 24/11/2013 22:58

Fifi669 so glad to hear it, thought I was going mad or just sensitive to the cold! Maybe something to do with blood flow!

BlueC2 · 25/11/2013 08:27

Morning all just had horrific night with DS and had to cancel my work meeting as a result! He was coughing and crying til 5am and nothing we tried seemed to console or settle him for more than 5-10mins! Not sure whether it's more teeth-just back molars left-or that he's got a cold but I am seriously exhausted and have kept him home from childminders so need to find some energy to look after him!

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 25/11/2013 10:12

how old is he?

molars are vile, I recommend Dentinox gel or Anbesol liquid and Nurofen/Calpol as he goes to bed.

I was wondering recently why it's always at night they are in pain from teething - a friend explained that as teeth grow and move constantly they have less resistance from the gums at night as the muscles relax whe we sleep.

so it's worked for us to give them a dose of painkillers before bed. see if that helps.
(we've just had 2 months of that on & off with DD. she's 19 months)

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 25/11/2013 10:14

in other news I'm 7 weeks today and I thought to weigh myself this morning.
I lost 1 kg (2lbs) in the last 2 weeks! Shock (result!Grin )

BlueC2 · 25/11/2013 10:58

Hi zing he turns 18m tomorrow! We tried calpol teething powders breastfeeding cuddles songs and stories last night! He struggles with the early moving of teeth so could well be that (oh joy!) as he often gets a cold with it too-nose streaming this morning and no doubt running down the back of his throat too, hence the coughing. All fun Hmm We've watched several episodes of Postman Pat curled up on the sofa so far this morning. I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow. Well done on losing weight!

AuntieMaggie · 25/11/2013 11:35

Well done zing on losing weight. I've stopped weighing myself for now. I have developed a thing for satsumas. And chips. Not on the same plate.

Fed up with waiting for scan and to tell people.

I'm off up north for work tonight - I really don't want to be away from dp at the moment. I had a dream about losing the baby last night :( and today I have a funny tummy - not really ill but have been 3 times already this morning.

fifi669 · 25/11/2013 13:09

I lose weight when I'm pregnant too, it's the lack of beer for me Blush, I've lost 11lb since I last weighed myself which I think was end of September?

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 25/11/2013 13:17

do try the Dentinox gel, Bonjela and Calgel are not as good.

I haven't tried to loose weight yet (but thanks!), I'm pretty sure it's due to the combination of increased metabolism and eating less due to feeling nauseous.
and I don't care for sweet things, only sugary tea.

tomatoes & coffee are outSad
parma ham & asparagus tortillas in - I had the same with DS5, expensive babies!
also I want grated black pepper, salt, cheese and/ordouble cream on/with everything Confused
(I might tell BIWI this baby is a fan of low carbing!Grin)

AuntieMaggie · 25/11/2013 13:32

Lol do that zing Grin

I'm giving in to chips/crisps a bit as I'm travelling alot with work and seems to help the little nausea I've had. That and diet coke. I get a bit nauseaus travelling anyway due to the anxiety I think. I usually buy bits in M&S at the stations but I've gone off most of the options apart from cocktail sausages Hmm feeling a bit dicky today too and I've just started a 4 hour train journey... oh such fun.

I'm waiting on a date for my scan, advice from my hospital consultant about the effect this pregnancy may have and blood results for that condition. My mw is on Monday. Do you normally go alone or should I take dp?

AuntieMaggie · 25/11/2013 13:38

If I get to my destination without having a hissy fit or being sick I will be amazed. Wish everyone on this train would feck off especially the smelly and ill ones!

Ipsumlorem · 25/11/2013 14:13

littleangel I have been living on ice lollys for the last week. I see some others here are struggling with sickness too. I've been so sick I've lost half a stone already and had to go to hospital the other night to be rehydrated by drip as I can't keep anything down Sad I have anti sickness tablets but they are not doing much today unfortunately Sad

It sucks, though the doctor took pity on me and did an early scan and it was fab to see the little heartbeat Smile

kim222 · 25/11/2013 14:16

Can I join?? Think I'll be due on 19th July.

Have a 10 month old dd, so very much going to have my hands full!!

Not been having much in the way of symptoms except extreme tiredness but today have been throwing up a lot and can only seem to stomach crackerbreads and water.

With last pregnancy I used to eat a few crackerbreads before I got up, need to do that tomorrow, feeling dreadful!

Got booking appt next week and bloods week after, all coming back to me now after being pregnant not long ago!

Hope everyone is well x

MrsB2013 · 25/11/2013 14:36

How is everyone today??

Just got home from my MW appointment, she was lovely! I did have a little cry, as had to have bloods done and I have fear of needles and pain, but it was fine! She did it at the start before filling in the forms so I didn't have time to worry about it! She is referring me to the consultant midwife so I can talk about my fears I have of giving birth, I asked about a C/S, she said it's rare they will agree to it, but sometimes it happens.

Coco I asked her about Harmony, but she hasn't heard of it! Need to decide soon if were going to do it as would need the first appointment next week sometime! We can afford it but DH thinks the money would be better spent on something for baby!

Is anyone else going for the Harmony Test?

OP posts:
kim222 · 25/11/2013 15:20

Just been reading all about Harmony, never heard of it before. Tempted to look at it but husband will never agree to the cost! £750!! My dd was born with a medical condition which we didn't know about as was not picked up on the scans, it would have been good to know about it to be prepared but on the other hand could just see me worrying for the whole pregnancy. I didn't have the downs test last time for that very reason, bit unsure really! Only 6.2 weeks so have some time to think
