Glad you are doing ok Donna. I put on more weight after my miscarriages then I did during the full term pregnancies because of all the chocolate Blush.

I'm almost teetotal so don't have to worry about people noticing I'm not drinking. But I'm sure someone will notice that my diet has suddenly become very limited and that I look ill all the time. PIL, BIL and SIL know but nobody else so far. Not sure when to tell other people. Once the DC know, the whole world will know so I should probably tell them last but I really don't want my family to know because I know they won't be happy. They get less happy with each baby I have and last time there was a lot of shouting (them) and a lot of crying (me).

ismarah · 14/12/2013 14:23

Doctor I'd aim for a walk, rather than a run. My experience with general anaesthesia has been that it knocks me for six, much like a bad flu would do and my fitness feels like it's evaporated.

Please don't tell me any more about your cheese fest - it's one of the things I'm really missing at the moment. You can keep your booze and pates and bleu meats - give me your cheeses. Have compromised with self and am aiming for a chocolate fondue instead. It's not the same.

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 14/12/2013 14:41

ellie

same here. It was popcorn that did it for me though.
I ate tons of it.
It's healing stuff.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 14/12/2013 14:43

Feeling fairly hormonal and scared today. Lack of sleep not helping. Really worried about our finances when the baby comes - I'm trying to tell myself that my parents were not exactly rolling in it when I was born, and we'll find a way to make it work, but having a bit of a panic :( .

Also not helped that an overdue payment I was expecting for some freelance work still hasn't come through. Very pissed off about that as this is the second time they've told me they would pay it and it hasn't happened. Guess there's nothing I can do about it until Monday.

Sorry to be gloomy! Hope everyone's having good weekends. Enjoy your Brie Donna!

AuntieMaggie · 14/12/2013 15:10

Blue I was awake too and getting really angry at stuff dp has/hasn't done - was getting myself really het up!

ItsAlways I'm really worried too about finances mainly how the feck we'll afford childcare :( If I'm not worried about the health of the baby then I'm worrying about money, sorting the house out, family dynamics, etc.

The whole secrecy thing is getting me down (golly I'm a bag of joy atm Hmm) and dp is bursting to tell especially as his friends wife found out this week shes 6 months pregnant!

AuntieMaggie · 14/12/2013 15:13

oh and on the subject of food - went shopping for me as dp is away this week and I will be living on bacon Grin

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 14/12/2013 19:02

still no sign of MW & scan appointments.
it's puzzling.

I'm 10 weeks on Monday and will wait for the post, but if nothing I'll be calling the hospital and demand a date.
this is taking the piss. Angry

fifi669 · 14/12/2013 19:06

zing maybe you're such a regular they expect you to just walk in? Grin

ismarah · 14/12/2013 19:53

Lol at Fifi

Maybe in this instance because you know the system so well Zing it's working against to, so to speak. Call them! Your need to organise your family and I'm sure they'll understand. Love the festive NC btw.

I'm 11w on the dot and have no scan information yet. I will call for details on Mon/Tue if it doesn't arrive. I did also phone up my clinic and changed my appointments to be on Wednesdays as the MW I saw last week works Mon & Thurs. so hopefully I can simply avoid her without making a big deal about it.

BlueC2 · 14/12/2013 20:03

ismarah I too fancy all naughty cheese right now!

Maggie hope you have a better night tonight. I've been so tired today and will be heading up for an early night v soon.

zing/Ellie I ate far too much cake and chocolate after my MC!

I did somehow manage to sort out our Christmas food shop online this afternoon though still not sure how I'm going to manage to cook it all, let alone eat any of it! I'll be 10 weeks on Tuesday so 11 weeks at Christmas.

ismarah · 14/12/2013 20:14

Making DH make dinner because chicken currently squicks me out.
I'm full of phlegm and it's making me gag (TMI!) at random intervals and annoying me. It even wakes me up! Angry

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 14/12/2013 22:01

fifi

Grin

I'm guessing I could perform my own C-section as well, if needed - I have watched sooooo many of these programs up till now.

or I can be a surgeon for any of you, no waiting list!Grin

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 14/12/2013 22:02

Ismarah

thanks. my favourite Christmas hymn - I can actually sing the descant!

coco808 · 14/12/2013 22:13

I'll be your first patient zing Grin i'm desperate for a C section!!

I hope you can give the epidural/spinal too Hmm

elliejjtiny · 14/12/2013 22:30

You can have my C-section if you like coco808. I'm desperate for a VBAC but it's not looking hopeful.

Loads of people coming for dinner tomorrow. Will have to convince various relatives that I'm on a new weird faddy diet. Problem is DH's Auntie loves a good faddy diet and will probably want to try it. I've lost 19lb on it so far but I think that's mostly to do with the puking.

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 14/12/2013 22:54

coco

of course!
sewing is my favourite hobby and I'm great with needles!Grin

ellie

why can't you have a VBAC?

BlueC2 · 15/12/2013 02:00

2am and awake again :(

SmallOlympianBear · 15/12/2013 02:52

Can I just say...bloody insomnia!

SmallOlympianBear · 15/12/2013 02:56

Ha, Blue, your post didn't appear on my screen until after I'd posted, for some reason. What is it about 2am onwards? I really need this sleep. I feel wrecked during the day at the moment and my daughter won't even let me doze on the sofa.

BlueC2 · 15/12/2013 07:38

olympianbear I don't know but SO frustrating. Thankfully I was only awake for an hour last night Hmm but also desperately need the sleep. I am lucky in that I can grab a short afternoon nap when DS1 does but then lose my window of time to get stuff done when he's asleep so slightly counter-productive. How long were you awake for?

Pearlsaplenty · 15/12/2013 11:39

I have finally started my 13th week! (12 weeks today) But my app says I'm still in first trimester!? I am confused Confused Does this mean I still have to wait another week for miscarriage risk to go down? I was hoping my app would say 2nd trimester today.

mummystein · 15/12/2013 11:54

Has anyone got any tips to get rid of hormone headaches? Have had a head ache for 3 days now and I can't shift it :(

AuntieMaggie · 15/12/2013 12:10

ismarah hope that phlegm shifts

Pearlsaplenty I think the risk goes down significantly after 12 weeks but 40/3 means you're in the first trimester til just after 13 weeks iyswim?

mummystein just make sure you're drinking plenty of water and eating and take paracetomal... and rest... other than that no idea sorry :(

zing they probably think you don't need them Xmas Grin but seriously get on the phone tomorrow - it could be down to royal mail as things here have already started not turning up when they should.

11 weeks here today and a week tomorrow for my scan - the waiting is killing me and I will be killing DP soon if he doesn't stop being so bloody cheerful and annoying... he's been drinking my alcohol reserves as I can't and it makes him too happy!

I have a Christmas meal this evening and its not the alcohol I'm worried about its the prawn cocktail starter - how do I tell the host I can't eat it now???

MrsB2013 · 15/12/2013 12:20

Zing add me to your list of C-sections Xmas Wink

Doctor Hope you are feeling ok Flowers

How is everyone else?

I have posted this on the pregnancy section, but will ask here too:

Can I eat this mousse cake? It says its made with pasteurised eggs.

AuntieMaggie · 15/12/2013 12:43

I assume it should be ok MrsB as its non-pasteurised you have to watch out for (I think) and my mw and gp said mass produced stuff is usually ok its the deli/farmshop/smaller producers who make cheese and stuff that will be an issue...
