Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Doodlequackquack · 09/12/2013 19:52

Yes, MrsB, I hope/presume so. I had a call from the a community mw this week to make my booking appt with them, and to inform me of the date the hospital has booked me for my scan. I did say that seems late, and asked when the nuchal translucency should be done by. She said 13+6 but that the hospital team would have booked according to my dates. I was scrabbling for a calendar and when I found one and told her the 8th of Jan was 14wks, she said that should be fine, and that she had no control over other hospital appts (2 different hospitals involved). I have since looked at the nhs website and it says n.tr test needs to be done by 14+1. I forgot to ask about the blood test, but have so far assumed it will be done together.

I'm as confident as you can be with dates, but a day's margin of error seems a bit tight... Perhaps I should track down a contact number for the scan hospital (I have nothing) and check. I was v low risk with DD, but that shouldn't matter, you either do it properly or why bother? Right? Hmm, confused now.

HomeIsWhereTheGinIs · 09/12/2013 20:04

Just checking in to say that I'm so sorry pint, that's heartbreaking. I hope you are being looked after by your nearest and dearest.

theborrower · 09/12/2013 20:49

Really sorry to hear of your loss, pint x

coco808 · 09/12/2013 21:21

I'm so sorry to hear that pint. Please look after yourself Flowers

Your MW sounds awful ismarah. I would have flipped on her. All credit to you for keeping calm. To be honest, my midwife wasn't great either. She seemed very moody and not interested.

I've been referred to obstetrician too because of Asthma

AuntieMaggie · 09/12/2013 21:23

doodle I think my mw said the blood test will be done at the same time. You can probably find the details to contact them if you Google.

NancyinCali · 09/12/2013 21:39

I'm so sorry pint, take care.

doctor that's sad :(

I'm freaking myself out at the lack of symptoms. I'm sure I was similarly symptom-less with my DD and I need to stop googling but it's hard. I think I was more distracted at this stage with DD as I was working full-time and planning our move to the US.

Plateofcrumbs · 09/12/2013 22:02

Have just found this thread so jumping on board! Currently 7+4, due July 24th all being well.

Having a private scan at 9 weeks (10 more sleeps away...) so we can hopefully share the news with family at Christmas.

Alternating between feeling buoyant and excited and an anxiety-ridden doom-monger.

SmallOlympianBear · 09/12/2013 22:41

So sorry to hear your news, Pint. Having to deal with a second MMC is beyond awful. I hope that you have some good support. Please be kind to yourself

fifi669 · 09/12/2013 23:14

pint Sad

My midwife pointed out my bmi too, she didn't recommend extra folic acid or aspirin but did say I should think about slimming world.....

baggyoldcow · 10/12/2013 08:01

Hello all!

pint, what heartbreaking news for you Sad. I'm so sorry. doctor awful news for you too.

Welcome crumbs, we share a due date!

I had a scan this morning and saw two little beans and two little hearts beating away. I'm still in total dread of the thought of managing with twins, as well as the fact that this will tip us over the edge family-size wise (they will be #s 4 & 5), but it was truly awesome to see the little things there, next to each other in their own sacs, pulsating away.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 10/12/2013 08:30

Nausea has returned with a vengeance today and the dizziness Hmm

FlyLikeABird · 10/12/2013 08:33

Wow baggy! All these twins!

I've still have no symptoms so just taking each day as it comes and hoping I'm just lucky. Hey nancy we can stress out together!

Booking in is 28th Dec. I will be really demanding, no meek and mild first time mum, I want a good birth experience this time. Doesn't have to be natural but I'm not going to be ignored when in labour next time. I've starte getting weepy again thinking about the first horror birth and coming home too soon just so I fit it with what everyone else wants.

jaykay987 · 10/12/2013 08:50

wow! twins!

is that three sets now? Im getting jealous......Grin

ZingSweetPea · 10/12/2013 08:54

baggy

double yay for twins!

well, lemon is having twins for sure.
who else?

Donna
when's your next scan? I'm telling you, positive vibes!Smile

ZingSweetPea · 10/12/2013 08:56

am I the omly one who still has no booking in or scan dates confirmed yet?

I honestly wouldn't care if it was in Feb, I just want to know when.
grrrr

FlyLikeABird · 10/12/2013 09:38

I'd give the community MWs a ring to check you're in the system. That way they might be able to give you the dates while you're on the phone. Chase em Grin

jaykay987 · 10/12/2013 10:37

zing - I only got my scan letter end of last week - which was over two weeks after my booking in. do you know if you get your scan letter early? or is it requested by mw?

me in our area won't book anyone in until 10weeks (though as they used my lmp I got to go early)

Im on the way to my scan. I am terrified.

elliejjtiny · 10/12/2013 10:39

So sorry pint that happened to me 2 years ago.

I'll be under obstetrician care due to high bmi, asthma and previous C-section. Really hoping for a nice calm vbac this time. I've also got 2 DS's with additional needs but not sure if I get anything extra because of that or not. DS2's additional needs were ignored during my pg's with DS3 and DS4 but some of DS4's additional needs were diagnosed during pg so not sure this time.

9+2

BlueC2 · 10/12/2013 10:57

Oh pint so sorry to hear your news. I had an MMC before DS1 and it is horrible, so sorry you've had it twice :(

Donna thinking of you for tomorrow limbo isn't fun! Sorry to hear news from your school too-these things do affect the whole school community.

Exciting to hear of twins!

Well I am 9 weeks today and just had my first head over the toilet moment-well actually the kitchen sink as didn't trust myself to make it as far as the toilet which is upstairs Blush I do feel a little better now I've puked though so maybe it wasn't such a bad thing. Booking app a week tomorrow and next scan on Jan 3rd.

Anyone else finding thought of Christmas hard work? We have my family descending planned before we knew I was pregnant and I'm just not sure how I'm going to manage with all the cooking and having everyone here.

ZingSweetPea · 10/12/2013 13:12

fly

I called the hospital last week, they confirmed they had received GP's letter/email, so it's on

Jay

The hospital sends a booklet, on the front page they write both booking in and scan app, they are typically a week apart, but the MW could be end of next week, so why the radio silence?

I'll be 10 weeks on Monday, so if no news I'll call then. but it's just annoying, I have so much to organize for the 2 weeks holiday and can't make a step until I know the dates, especially the scan as DH will come with me and we need someone to look after the brood!

going to nap. toodles!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 10/12/2013 13:13

Next scan is 2pm Thursday. Positive thoughts and prayers appreciated. Although, I think we're both prepared for either outcome. I feel really rubbish and exhausted today. Didn't sleep at all well. Need to start wearing bra all night as my brassy get sore without. I know I must look really, really rough as my head of department just offered to take my next (and last) lesson. I'll be done in less than an hour and then can go home and collapse!

ZingSweetPea · 10/12/2013 13:18

Donna

it's the stress that makes you so tired. it a real energy waster. poor you.

will be thinking about you, praying and hoping - I still think it will be all good.

(big hugs)

LemonLovely · 10/12/2013 13:22

baggyoldcow woohoo, welcome to the Twin Bus!

We told all my family the news last night (eek!) but won’t make it public (assuming hopefully everything continues to be OK) until the 12 week scan.

Telling them was fun: part 1 = we’re pregnant! Lots of screaming/excitement from everyone. Then…pause…’and it’s TWINS’!! Screaming/excitement pretty much turned into hysteria!! I have two early 20s sisters and they pretty much imploded!

justhayley Hopefully you’ll be officially joining the Twin Bus soon as well :) Am with you with the stomach – I love VERY pregnant for 9 weeks (to the point where I’ve had people a couple of times offer me seat on the tube)

jaykay987 · 10/12/2013 13:45

well.....scan was good. very wiggly baby. Approx 10+5. Grin Grin

LemonLovely · 10/12/2013 14:08

jaykay987 Aw, that's brilliant. You must be thrilled!
