AuntieMaggie · 07/12/2013 18:44

Thanks Donna. I've dealt with worse but its all a bit much atm.

ismarah · 07/12/2013 23:29

Doctor, fingers still crossed for you for next week.

Our clinic was its usual helpful self when they gave my husband all the paperwork for my MW appointment Monday when he picked it up a few weeks ago and didn't give him the sample pot or any instructions. Turns out one of the papers I should have filled in and handed back ASAP as it would have triggered the scan appt.

Was told that Friday when I picked up the missing sample pot - and also told that I should have brought the sample back in advance of the appointment Monday. Never mind a scan before Christmas then. Although to be fair I did know it was unlikely, despite being 10+2..

On the plus side mum's visit has been much much better than I feared after our less than pleasant conversation the day she arrived. We did lots of christmas shopping and chatting and had a nicer time than ever before! Win!

Queasiness seems to be abating somewhat which is odd after weeks of it - I just expect to automatically feel crap. Am actually back to being able to wear my jeans all done up unlike a few weeks ago when even a hairband on the button wasn't enough. This seems very odd and I suspect Monday while I'm weeing in jars, I'll also POS just for my sanity and proof! when I see the MW... That will bring my POS total up to 4. And I still find it unbelievable.

justhayley · 08/12/2013 01:14

Lol my POAS total is 4 as well - 3 cheapies & a digital. iv done so many tests that have been negative I'm quite enjoying getting positives Smile

Thanks girls. Feeling much better tonight, iv been a bit of a nightmare today. (Don't tell DP its hormones I snapped at him earlier & he said babe I think it's your hormones, my response .... No pregnancy hormones don't kick in till week 8 your just being an arse) lol.
not sure where I got that info lol.

Had a great night out, drunk lime & sodas all night & pretended it included vodka lol. DS went to mums in the end so tonight is the first night in forever I'm going to get a full nights sleep - if I can get on MN that is lol

justhayley · 08/12/2013 01:15

*Off MN

ZingSweetPea · 08/12/2013 01:18

glad you had a great night.

I could only eat half of my burger and chips - just ridiculous.
I felt so sick I decided to not move and fell asleep on the sofa.
then I woke up, crawled to bed but now I'm awake.

I can't wait to stop feeling sick.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 08/12/2013 08:45

Hmmm....I have discovered I love cereal. This is odd as I've spent the past 20 years thinking cereal was beyond boring. This morning my bowl of Frosted Wheats tasted bloody brilliant! Smile Yum.

fifi669 · 08/12/2013 09:03

doctordonna I don't normally eat breakfast at all but have been munching shreddies. Even weirder that I'll get up at 7.30 on a Sunday to eat it when the rest of the house is asleep!

lemon doesn't separate sacs mean they're not identical?

jaykay987 · 08/12/2013 09:41

I'm currently obsessed with coco pops. Breakfast and dinner!

AuntieMaggie · 08/12/2013 09:49

ismarah thats rubbish. I had to do my wee sample and hand in my papers at my mw appt. I then received my appt letters within 5 days. Mind you the mw was faffing tring to find other bits of paper and as for the wee sample... I had to wash my bits with cotton wall then wee mid stream into a foil bowl and then empty that into the sample pot. Apparently the lab gets funny if theres too much 'discharge' in it or something....

A nice bowl of cereal with milk is lovely - as I low carb its a real treat!

justhayley DP said something to me about being worried cos I'd been short with him since getting pregnant... what a way to make it worse... I told him to f**k off (in my head).

fifi I wondered how they tell that...

DoctorDonnaNoble · 08/12/2013 09:56

Oh, my booking in appointment (if I get there) is at home. Haven't been given a urine sample to do. Oh well, if I get that far I won't care! Grin

AuntieMaggie · 08/12/2013 12:11

Aww Donna fingers crossed for you :)

I'm wondering what is best to wear to scan? Leggings and dress? And should I dress prepared for a scan just in case with the obstetrician?

DoctorDonnaNoble · 08/12/2013 12:31

I went leggings and dress.

ismarah · 08/12/2013 14:36

Of course I had no instructions as to how to wee in the thing - it's this tiny little vial - whether to do it first thing, not first thing, mid-wee or what. Certainly there was no mention of cotton balls or bowls! They will get what they get!

Now that all my uni work is finished, I don't really know what to do with myself. Swan about telling people I'm pregnant doncha know? Become permanently embedded IN the sofa? Sky's the limit!

HomeIsWhereTheGinIs · 08/12/2013 16:43

Just a quick hello and wave to Donna to say fingers crossed for you! Also to say I'm on the cereal too - and that crunchy nut cornflakes with really really ice cold milk is one of the best things I've ever tasted!

LemonLovely · 08/12/2013 18:17

AuntieMaggie I went for my scan jeans and top, and just had to undo the bottom and zip. However, bladder was really full so had to pee, and then she just did it internally, which was fine.

fifi669 the woman who scanned us told us that if it's a shared sac it's definitely identical, but if it's 2 then you have a chance of being both. If it's the same egg, if the split happens early then there will be 2 sacs; later and there will be 1. I've since read that 1 in 3 sets of identical twins have 2 sacs, with 2 sharing 1 sac. Apparently if there are 2 sacs, you have to wait for delivery and when the placenta is examined they can tell then if the twins are identical of not (unless it's a boy and girl of course!). All news to me - lots to learn with this twin business!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 08/12/2013 18:28

I've got crunchy nut cornflakes as an alternative to my frosted wheats! Feeling positive at the moment, whatever the outcome. Either way will be difficult and new territory. You can only get on with playing the hand that you're dealt.

coco808 · 08/12/2013 18:41

fingers crossed for you donna. Do you go again next friday?

I've been at Uni all weekend attending lectures for my masters booooo Sad. I'm sooooo tired and have to be back at work tomorrow. Had to leave the lecture three times to throw up! Classy! People thought I was hung over!

Congrats on the twins lemon! Twins are SO adorable! I'm sure you'll figure how to go back to work and just think they can keep each other company and not feel lonely without their mum while you are at work.

No sign of 12 week scan yet!

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday evening. I'm about to decorate my Christmas tree and tuck into a big bowl of pasta...yum Grin

DoctorDonnaNoble · 08/12/2013 19:17

Thursday afternoon this time.

AuntieMaggie · 08/12/2013 19:52

Is anyone else seeing an obstetrician?

jaykay987 · 08/12/2013 20:48

Yes I am aunty. Not sure if it's because of my high BmI or thyroid. Or maybe both.

I got my 12w scan letter Thursday night - for this Wednesday! Couldn't believe the short notice. Plus they ignored the information I gave my midwife about my long cycle and early scan showing I was much later.

I called and rescheduled. It's now the 18th. I'm amazed they won't rely on any of my written follow ups from fmc scans. Seems like a waste of nhs resources. Anyway - on the plus side for me....I now have three scans in the next three weeks!
DH is only going to fmc ones - so I'm a little worried as the nhs nuchal one will be first and I'll be alone. FX they don't find anything that causes concern or uncertainty.

Beanpod13 · 08/12/2013 20:49

I'mSupposed to be seeing an obstetrician. No idea when. Also no idea when for scans, but I have had a midwife appointment now. The sample they asked for was a mid stream one, so pee in toilet, then in pot, then in toilet. Said nothing about cleaning with cotton wool!

AuntieMaggie · 08/12/2013 21:00

Do you know what will happen at the obstetrician appt?

ismarah · 08/12/2013 21:31

Beanpod Thanks - I might give it a try that way then..

MW tomorrow. Getting quite excited actually as it makes it more real and after that it'll be the scan and then we can hopefully start telling people. Am quite looking forward to somewhat stunning people, I think.

justhayley · 08/12/2013 21:39

Congrats on the twins Lemon Grin I'm
Hoping to get a scan this week to see if my 2 little sacs are still 2 and not 1, it's been the longest two weeks ever! Hopefully I'll be joining you on the twin bus.
I have my booking appointment tomorrow morning, so am going to push for an early scan, If I can't get a referral I'll go private on wednesday.

Today I actually look 5 months pregnant, my belly is huge, for that reason alone I'm thinking I must have twins growing, I can't possibly have 1 in there! I'm getting more attached to having twins everyday, if I have suffered vanishing twin syndrome it's going to be really hard.

Today was the first day I felt really sick. I can't go in cars when pregnant, I was the same with DS. It was a 40 min journey and DP had to keep stopping and pulling over. Not sure how I didn't actually get sick but it was very close. Think I'll stick to the train for the next 6/7 months.

MrsB2013 · 08/12/2013 22:51

Hi everyone hope you are all ok!!

I've had a couple of days off here, I'm getting really nervous for my 12 week scan - 10 days to go! Does anyone know how long it takes to get the results from the combined test?

Lemon how exciting, twins!!!!

Doctor I really hope your next scan shows a little bean for you!

Hayley I hope you manage to get an early scan sorted out!

I've gone off most of my breakfast likes, used to have porridge or coco pops, but don't like them now Hmm I have been eating crumpets but they don't keep me full for long!
