Well doctor.....that is promising.

I'll continue to keep my FX for you!

fifi669 · 06/12/2013 12:46

I had no symptoms with DS except tiredness until heartburn kicked in when he was much bigger.

This time I seem to have an eternal dodgy belly, I'm light headed, I've urged a few times but nothing more, my heart is going crazy. I've got a pacemaker so getting that checked out this afternoon. If that's ok I'm going to stake my claim on this being a girl as I've heard that pregnancy is harder with them!?

fifi669 · 06/12/2013 12:47

Oh and doctor that sounds promising, maybe just not as far along as you thought?

ZingSweetPea · 06/12/2013 12:51

turn

sorry to hear that you are unwell.

I've recently found out that applying Vicks vaporub on the soles of feet reduces/stops coughing.
I used it with the kids, it's like magic!

it says on leaflet to consult doctor or pharmacist if you have a history of asthma, pregnant etc - so not sure if you are allowed, but if you are (as it wouldn't be applied on chest & throat) it might just help.

It's crap to be ill when pg.
I hope you get better soon.

ZingSweetPea · 06/12/2013 12:54

fifi

I puked for both England and Hungary with boys.

only physically sick twice with DD and if anything I think mine is a girl again coz of nausea being not near as bad as with boys (no barfing yet either).

since we both have dodgy bellies let's go for girls anyway, shall we? Grin Grin

MrsA2 · 06/12/2013 13:00

Doctor I'm so disappointed for you not to have been able to get a definitive answer but that does sound like very positive progress.

Fingers firmly crossed for you.

AuntieMaggie · 06/12/2013 13:39

That's vicks on the feet thing has never worked for me. Another remedy is supposed to be onions in your socks if you're willing to try that Grin

Apart from feeling queasy when faced with certain foods or their smells I haven't really been ill either. Had a bit of a windy belly and a few odd stomach pains but that's about it.

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy · 06/12/2013 13:47

DoctorDonna, I'm sorry that you have to wait another week, but at least there has been progress.

ZingSweetPea · 06/12/2013 13:50

maggie

onions? not a snowball's chance in hell!Grin

MIL said they used to have a foot bath with hot water and mustard powder to cure a cold/coughing.

AuntieMaggie · 06/12/2013 14:36

I know zing I never tried it but someone recommended it when I had a bad chest infection last year. I wasn't that desperate! I tried to find the link but can't.

Just realised the MW/GP prescribed dispersible aspirin - ugh.

ZingSweetPea · 06/12/2013 15:36

now dispersable aspirin is foul.

I'd rather the onions in my socks!Grin

DoctorDonnaNoble · 06/12/2013 17:09

Meant to say the nice thing was someone we know works as a sonographer at the EPU. She couldn't have been more professional and supportive, she also sent me a lovely message a couple of hours ago saying I can contact her directly with any worries over the week. The manner of everyone was brilliant and MUCH better than the private scan I went for. Knowing what I know now I will never bother paying for a private scan again. I only did as the GP got me so confused about everything. If this does turns out to be a MC one of my first after jobs will be to move surgeries!

Pearlsaplenty · 06/12/2013 20:56

doctor how disappointing to still be in limbo. Very frustrating. My fingers are still crossed for you, really hoping you get some good news next week!!

elliejjtiny · 06/12/2013 23:19

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Donna

Weird thing happened to me this week. I was in hospital with DS4 for 2 days. I was worried about puking as I had been puking 5-10 times a day and I hate puking in public loos. While I was at the hospital I had a tiny bit of nausea and that's it. As soon as we got home I was back to puking 5-10 times a day. It's almost as if this baby knew it was time to keep quiet.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 07/12/2013 06:19

Sounds promising, Doctor. Sorry you have to be in limbo for another week though.

ZingSweetPea · 07/12/2013 09:02

ellie

aawww, what a cutie for not ratting you out! Grin

LemonLovely · 07/12/2013 11:37

Hi everyone, haven't been in here in a while as super busy with work but hope everyone is progressing well.

Doctor saw your note below about the scan, hope the next one gives a clearer picture as to what's happening.

As for me, well my hunch was right: twins! Had a scan today, 9 weeks, and there were the two beans, jiggling about like no tomorrow. DH nearly fell off the chair, and I just burst into tears.

Each have their own sac and measure the size of a single baby at this age so that's the reason for why I'm showing already! Can't tell at this stage if they're identical or not. Just relived everything is OK, and now back to crossing fingers and praying like mad that all goes well over the next three weeks and there are still 2 little beans dancing away at our 12-week scan on 2nd Jan.

Really thrilled, but also getting the fear now that my plan of working right up to birth, and going back to work 6 months after (I'm director in a big company, insanely busy job) might not be workable!

AuntieMaggie · 07/12/2013 13:10

That's really exciting Lemon

Arghhhh. I think my mum knows. She saw a letter from the hospital. I haven't seen the letter yet (DP is bringing it to me) but if its got anything on it that gives it away I'm going to complain. I've got an odd relationship with my mum and didn't want her to know yet. She just said about coming round to see me this afternoon and I put her off. Her attitude on the phone really annoyed me about my ankle joking like I was doing something stupid when I did it. I really didn't want anyone to know especially as I have several medical complications and I don't know what they mean for the pregnancy yet.

Is it normal to feel so vulnerable and tearful about things? I feel really pessimistic about things and that's not like me. Perhaps its the lack of alcohol...

DP is on his way home after leaving me stuck home all morning to go off and do sport. He's just text to say he's injured - I may have to kill him if he can't do the shopping this afternoon as I can't do it on my own!

AuntieMaggie · 07/12/2013 13:11

Lemon I am planning at the moment to go back to work after 6 months because of financial issues and I can't see how I can afford not to. I need to work out whether this is actually going to be better financially but have no idea where to start Confused

theborrower · 07/12/2013 13:13

Lemonlovely - jings! Congratulations.
I think your plans about work will go out the window too :-)

justhayley · 07/12/2013 14:31

Is anyone finding it difficult to make decisions? It's stressing me out I'm so indecisive, which is not like me. I was the same with DS, and ended up crying in Tesco because I didn't no what to but but it's getting worse this time round. I'm currently in tears because I'm going out tonight, & cant decide if it's easier for my mum to come to mine & look after DS or I take him there. Think my hormones are getting the better of meHmm

ZingSweetPea · 07/12/2013 15:00

hayley

I get like that at times, poor you.

but generally I'm great at decision so here:
let your mum come to yours, less work for you.
job done.

next problem? Wink

DoctorDonnaNoble · 07/12/2013 15:25

It's definitely the hormones! Mine have been all over the place. Given my tiredness, crankiness and time off school, I'm sure my students are starting to put two and two together and getting the (hopefully) correct answer! Grin

AuntieMaggie · 07/12/2013 18:07

Obstetrician appt and scan appt received - 11 and 23 Dec. I find it weird that the scan isn't first...

No markings on my letters so maybe I'm being paranoid about my mum. I wish things weren't so bloody difficult with her.

Currently sat in a&e with DP for his injuries - this place is going to make a fortune out of me in parking!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 07/12/2013 18:13

Hope all goes well with DP, your appointments AND your mother!
