My dh just doesn't know what to say - if I feel crap then at least I feel pregnant but if I feel fine for a while then worry about no symptoms.

Just reminded him that once I can feel movements it'll vary from "I wish this baby would calm down when I'm trying to sleep" to "I'm worried the baby hasn't moved for a while"

At least when they're out you can see them - Ho hum just seven months to go!

LazyDogJumpedOver · 03/12/2013 20:27

I agree with FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy - you have to be really organised to go back to work AND your partner will get a wide awakening. I think in general having a baby is tough on any relationship. I had huge rows with my husband when he accidentally took the car seat and pram to work with him. He just didn't understand how trapped I was in the house without them! But that's AGES away for you! :)

justhayley · 03/12/2013 21:18

Thank you Zing. Feeling a lot better today. Think I'm Struggling as well as DP is Military & has been away for 3 weeks so havnt had anyone to cuddle when I'm feeling anxious etc, he's back Friday though which will help. Will also be nice to get excited with someone Smile

Marg, I'm also already looking worrying pregnant. With DS I popped really early & was wearing maternity jeans by 8 weeks. Think it was water retention though as around 13 my tummy was normal again & people didn't notice I was pregnant till 5 months at work. I'm Hoping the growi ng slows down because if I'm gaining at the weight I am now I'll be a good 6/7 stone heavier when these 2 arriveShock

justhayley · 03/12/2013 21:22

Beanpod: BFP means big fat positive (I think lol). Is there anyone that can help you in the day? Or is there no medication you can have whilst pregnant? That's really tuff. This is a great place to come when you need a moan, rant, cry, or to celebrate, so don't feel like you have to hold back when your having a down day. Congratulations on your pregnancy Grin

funkymonk · 03/12/2013 22:26

Hi ladies. I've been posting on the august thread despite also being on this one as my edd was 28th July and it's my first so bound to go over (if I get that far). I wonder if any of you can give me some advice? I have had some spotting all over the weekend so had an early scan today at what I though was 6+1. The sonographer measured me at 5+2. From my frantic googling I believe the transvaginal scans (dildocam) have a margin of error of +/- 3 days. I had worked myself out to be 6+1 based on taking ovulation tests and when we dtd. I also got a fairly early positive pregnancy test at 11dpo so I am a bit startled by the 5+2 date. Does anyone here have any experience of the early scans and measurements?? Thanks.

ZingSweetPea · 03/12/2013 22:39

beanpod

first of all congrats!Thanks

this is the place, any questions just ask, any worries or wanting a good moan just do it! Wink

the sickness and other early symptoms are tough on anyone, don't feel bad if you are not able to cope well - I don't know what ME is all about or what symptoms you get but if a simple cold makes me want to curl up in bed and never get out I'm not surprised that your constant pain makes you housebound.

your body is amazing though and you can do it.
as others said once the first 3-4 months are over you should feel better and more positive.
right now every day feels like you have been put through a washing machine cycle!Grin

here's a massive, but gentle hug for you
(hugs)

hayley
another hug for you - it's almost as good as the one from your DH, isn't? Wink
and plenty more where that came from.
in fact in RL I'm "famous" for giving the best hugs!Grin

in other news DS1 & DS2 now both have tonsillitis and DD is having horrible night time pain with her tooth.
in other words I'm bloody exhausted.did have a 3-hour sleep this afternoon though.

and I think I cracked the right amount I can eat so I don't feel too sick from being too hungry or too full.
it's about half or third of what I'd normally have.
no wonder I have lost 5lbs in less than 4 weeks!Shock Grin

ZingSweetPea · 03/12/2013 22:44

funky

you might be right and baby is "older" but smaller or it could be that they just take the average measurement baby should be.
It's literally millimetres at this points, even a week out doesn't really mean much, so no need to worry.

when you have your dating scan around 12 weeks they will adjust EDD if necessary.

hth

AuntieMaggie · 03/12/2013 23:35

jaykay yes i'm to start aspirin straight away though the prescription request has gone to my gp who may question it as she is very familiar with me and my complicated medical history!

I had a row with dp last night who says I've been stroppy with him lately (I swear I haven't I've just been distracted with everyting going on) and I have sprained my ankle to add that to the mix. Joy.

ZingSweetPea · 03/12/2013 23:46

Maggie

poor you.

tell him that this is nothing, he should wait until the frustrated getting this bloody kid out of me beached whale phase in the heat in July!Grin
he ain't seen nothing yet!Wink

AuntieMaggie · 04/12/2013 06:48

Lol. Thanks zing. I think its because we're in limbo til the scan and have only each other to talk to. Plus there are job losses at my office atm so I'm.stressing about losing my job.

So I can't put any weight on my fot today and I'm away from home. How the feck I'm going to get home on the train like this I don't know!

ZingSweetPea · 04/12/2013 11:01

I told my favourite SIL today! I just had to!

I have 3 SILs, but she is the one I feel closest to. we talk a lot on the phone and she really is like a sister to me, so I was always going to tell her before anyone else!
they have 9 children and she said I made her broody again! Shock Grin

It felt so good to say it out loud! makes it more real.

how's everymum?

jaykay987 · 04/12/2013 11:24

9 children?????!!!!!??????!!!!! I cannot even imagine! Grin

I'm struggling this week. My tiredness is definitely better than a few weeks ago, but I am still struggling with nausea.

I had a work do last night (managed to get away with "driving"). I was starving as we got served pate, then red steak - so I survived on a couple of spoonfuls of mash!

But I have another meal with the same (slightly smaller group) tonight. My senior managers told me under no circumstances am I to drive tonight! I think I'll have to order alcohol and hopefully no-one will notice I don't drink it.

Is anyone else struggling with their belly in the evening? In the morning, I'm a little podgy - by about 5pm I have a rounded belly that cannot be sucked in. Its a nightmare having these evening events - worrying about drinking and hiding my tummy!

How's everyone else doing? Any updates?

ZingSweetPea · 04/12/2013 12:17

jaykay

yep, 5 boys, 4 girls.
and she is homeschooling them! Shock

I'm so hungry. I ate a bit more food than I should have so of course I feel quite sick now - but it still wasn't enough.
I just want to eat and eat.

biscuit and tea might be ok.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 04/12/2013 12:52

I've got a rotten cold, and feel rubbish after parents' evening. It 's starting to sink in that I might be leaving this group on Friday. Already agreed we 'll get straight back on it as soon as we can if that 's the case.

jaykay987 · 04/12/2013 13:42

Doctor keeping my FX for you. At least you don;t have too much longer to wait. The odds are still in your favour - so hopefully by Saturday you'll be bouncing from the ceiling! Grin

BrightonSquirrel · 04/12/2013 15:24

Thanks for the advice about being mega organised ladies - and the reassurance. Know it's a long way away to think about juggling work & a baby, just looking at our finances and working out what might be possible. Have a feeling we should have thought about money before getting knocked up - but was far too excited!

Also got my 12wk scan date through & it's on my birthday! Hoping for good news and a healthy bean as my present this year.

Hope you're all having a nice day and symptoms aren't too bad.

BrightonSquirrel · 04/12/2013 15:33

Fingers crossed for tomorrow Donna. Really hope you get good news.

MGJoey · 04/12/2013 15:33

Funky I had the same experience at an early scan as you! I thought I was 7+3, working from my lmp, and they dated me at 6+3... going back this Friday due to this discrepancy, so fingers crossed it settles back at that or at the 12 week on.

Bit weird as now not sure what to say when asked how pregnant I am, ie at my booking in appointment today! That went well though, and they took all the bloods, so waiting for those results now.

Feeling nauseous each morning and evening, with a bit of a break in the middle of the day. Really not fancying much food-wise, despite feeling hungry. Also feel so drained of all energy...

JayKay I have a bit more of a belly by the evening too!

MGJoey · 04/12/2013 15:34

Thinking of you for tomorrow Donna.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 04/12/2013 15:49

Thanks for the luck - scan is 9:50 Friday. I have to go back into work afterwards Confused

PintandChips · 04/12/2013 16:45

Guys,
i need a bit of reassurance - i'm 10+2 today by my calcs (9+6 by the calc of the scan i had at 8 weeks) and i'm feeling really anxious because my symptoms have really abated... i was KNACKERED and now I seem to have loads more energy, i'm less tired, less 'emotional' (ie capable of not bursting into tears every hour), my boobs are less sore, i have no pains/cramps in my tummy... my appetite has really reduced (i was ravenous, i think because i was a bit underweight and now i'm not). I haven't had any morning sickness at all so that's not a marker for me. The reduction in symptoms is making me really anxious that i've had a MMC (had one already this year). I have a scan on Monday (when i go for Harmony) but there's a bit of me that wants to try and get one tomorrow. Am i being mental?

AuntieMaggie · 04/12/2013 16:47

I'm at a train station waiting to go home and the place smells of stew or something like it which is making me feel really sick.

zing i would love a big family but i don't think i could afford it/cope/go through this that many times. I love kids and often thought about fostering or working with kids but tye mortgage gets in the way.

Good luck Donna.

coco808 · 04/12/2013 16:47

aww fingers crossed donna everything will be OK.

Somebody at work asked me today if I was pregnant because they thought I was showing!!!! Already??? Really?? This bloating is making me so conscious now.

I had my booking appt today. She took bloods to do loads of tests on. All these tests are making me worried about what they are going to find. Does anyone know how long it takes to get the results from the bloods?

AuntieMaggie · 04/12/2013 16:50

coco no idea but i checked at my booking appt and mw said she would call me if there was any problems with the results.

pint I don't feel pregnant most of the time and have more energy - the mw said to be thankful!

coco808 · 04/12/2013 16:52

pint, from what I understand, he HCG hormone that causes most of our symptoms in early pregnancy peaks at week 8 and then starts to fall and disappears between week 10-12. That means people who suffer symptoms from this hormone start to feel better by week 12. Around week 12 progesterone will kick in more which can give different symptoms but since we have high amounts of progesterone during some days of our normal cycle, the symptoms are as different. Sorry to ramble on, but I think you should be ok. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will come along and give more advise...take care
