No idea tea. I'm 9+2 and it's taking forever!

auntie has your aspirin been prescribed now? Mine is from second trimester (runs home to check I haven't misread notes). Not that they give me an actual prescription though as they are cheap to buy.

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy · 02/12/2013 19:57

tea time goes so slowly. You wait until the end when you are approaching your due date just waiting for something to happen. The days will drag by.

Blue nice to hear that your scan went OK today.

I've only got 1 week to wait now until my 12 week scan, but I'm expecting to be told I'm 11 weeks.

And reading about all the food you lot fancy or don't fancy hasn't done anything to help my nausea this evening. Angry Grin

ismarah · 02/12/2013 20:01

Apparently I was waiting to finish most of my work before I'd properly start obsessing about bean. Sigh.

MrsB2013 · 02/12/2013 20:48

Thank for the info re: flu jab. Will probably have it done, but I am so scared of needles and I'm still bruised from my blood tests last week Shock

I must be the only one finding time going so quickly! I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow!

Great news on the scan Blue

Hope everyone is ok!

I can't remember who asked.....(or if it was on this thread).

But I handed my maternity prescription exemption form into the gp 22nd Nov. I got my card today. So just a little over a week.

It's official...I might topple over. Gone up a back size and two cup sizes. I was big before....Ive just crossed the line into 'cartoon'!!Smile I hope that's it now - no more growth spurts FX!

jaykay987 · 02/12/2013 21:24

Reading this just made me laugh....and then cry. I am in no way prepared for this. What have I got myself into?! Grin

Hmm feeling worrying odd tonight, can't put my finger on it, I'm not cramping but have that period on the way tummy. I'm insanely bloated although ate a Chinese tonight (meal not person, although look like I ate a Chinese person) and had a coke & I don't usually drink fizz so might be that. This is driving me crazy, I think getting pregnant so soon after MC has affected me more than I thought, I'm so paranoid that everything is going to lead to another one. I'm desperate to know my 2 little miracles are well.

ZingSweetPea · 03/12/2013 04:39

hayley

that is tough.
and it doesn't matter how much time elapses between a MC and the next pg you'll hold your breath the entire timeSad

the baby we lost was due 3rd May 2009.
I was then due with DS5 on 1st May 2010.
it was really awful to have everything pretty much happening the same time - there was no escape
with him I wanted to find the sex- I felt I needed a "treat" for making it to 20 weeks.
then towards the due date I was agonizing over when baby would be born - I would have done anything to avoid him being born on the 3rd but there was nothing I could do...
I cried with relief when I went to bed in the early hours of the 4th, still pg.

you worry with each pg, it's natural, but once you lost a baby it's so different.

hang on there and try not to give in to your brain playing tricks on you. fx crossed. (hugs)

ZingSweetPea · 03/12/2013 04:40

*no escape.

with him.....

DoctorDonnaNoble · 03/12/2013 07:33

Argh, the heartburn has begun! Not happy. DH was on his stupid half night shift so got in at 2:30. So I've had a night's disturbed sleep and I've got a parents' evening tonight 5:45-8:00! Got a horrible head cold and could do without a 12 hour day this week. Confused

MargeryDaw · 03/12/2013 13:41

Anyone else on baby number 2 (or 3,4,5,6...!) struggling to hide an increasingly obvious bump?! I'm only 7 weeks and didn't show until at least 18 weeks last time

BlueC2 · 03/12/2013 14:15

Feeling soooo sick today...ugh...8 weeks today and hating the fact that this dragging nausea could last another 6 weeks....ugh...then again it is also a good sign so I need to hang onto that but it's just so hard work! So sorry for all of those also struggling with v busy days and wondering how they will get through. I have an incredibly busy few days coming up and not sure how I'm going to get through at all!

LazyDogJumpedOver · 03/12/2013 14:47

I'm on number two MargeryDaw and feel massive already! Trousers and underwear are both tight and I'm only 8 weeks! maternity trousers are so cosy but am worried people will spot them at work

MargeryDaw · 03/12/2013 15:44

Exactly! I made the mistake of wearing an empire line dress to work today as it's jersey so really comfy but I've spent all day pulling my cardie around me as I look properly pregnant. I'm squeezing myself into my bras - which really isn't very comfy so will need to go shopping soon for some lovely non wired big berthas!

liquidstate · 03/12/2013 16:05

I have bought bra extenders and they are a godsend!

I haven't been on since last week due to funeral etc. I went to a private clinic for a blood sample to be taken today and the dr did a quick scan. She suspects I am about 6 days more than I think as my periods were all over the place so I probably had an early cycle. Nice to hear bean's heartbeat and see it as well. Have to go back on the 20th with DH for the Nuchal Scan and will get the results of the blood test then as well.

Am so tired and also so not in the mood for friskiness (poor DH).

Beanpod13 · 03/12/2013 17:23

Hi,
I'm new, first baby due in July 14, around the 17th.
I'm not really sure how ask this works, pregnancy, mumsnet, any of it!

Beanpod13 · 03/12/2013 17:26

Hi
What's a bfp? I'm feeling lost!

Ruggle · 03/12/2013 17:27

Hi girls

Just popped back in to say I'm now on the August bus...having jumped off this one less than a month ago! Not counting my chickens just yet....but fingers crossed!!

Hope you are all well!

Beanpod13 · 03/12/2013 17:54

Hi,
So I'm 7 + 6, I think, with first pregnancy. I have ME and am mostly housebound and am really struggling with complete exhaustion, constant period like pain and nausea, along with my normal pain which I can take effective medicine for because of the baby.
I really wanted to be pregnant, but now just feel so incredibly ill I can't feel any excitement, just stress and misery and needing to sleep about 18 hours per day. I'm nervous about MCing, as I'm at an increased risk. And I still don't have a first midwife apppintment because I can't access the clinic at the Times it is on, and they are arguing about who gets to do home visits with me.

I am going to visit a friend tomorrow, which is a huge and exhausting event for me. It involves getting dressed and leaving the house, and moving myself around a bit. No joke, that is much more than I can manage mostly!

This is maybe a bit much, sorry, but I'm just feeling so lonely with not being able to talk to people about being pregnant. Is anyone else feeling overwhelmed?
Beanpod x

BrightonSquirrel · 03/12/2013 18:26

Big virtual hug Beanpod!! The early symptoms are bad enough for anyone (currently sitting in a train station cafe forcing down crisps to try and kick the nausea), so not surprising extreme tiredness combined with the impact of not being able to take your normal medication are getting you down. Hang in there and keep remembering why you wanted to get pregnant in the first place. Hopefully your symptoms will ease by second trimester.

That tiny bean will grow into a little person and you get the tough but magical role of being his or her mummy for life. Good luck x

Went to stay with my mum last night and being pregnant makes me more in awe of her than ever. She worked fulltime from when we were each six months old but we were always very loved & she's been giving me good advice about compartmentalising family & working worlds.

Any working mums out there got stories on how they coped with going back to work after having their first? (I don't think I'll be able to afford to take a whole year off.)

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 03/12/2013 18:28

That's great news, Ruggle.

Beanpod - yup, it's my first too and I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed. Mainly finances at the mo - I can't quite work out how we're going to juggle everything. I'm sure it'll work out but it terrifies me slightly :) it must be fairly scary trying to balance ME with the tiredness of pregnancy - I hope you can get the support you need.

Sorry I haven't been on much recently. I have been battling with a nasty cough/cold for the last week - everyone else I know has managed to get over it super quickly - stupid pregnancy immune system. And I have had to drag myself into work each day because of afore mentioned worries about finances. Bah. Going to bed now!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 03/12/2013 18:31

Oh and final moan - none of my bras fit anymore and I can't afford new ones :(

I'm only 7+3! How big are they gonna get ?!

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy · 03/12/2013 19:16

Beanpod you are in the right place to come and have a chat when you can't discuss pregnancy with other people. Smile I think we are all feeling the exhaustion. It should start to get better after 12 weeks. And maybe once you have had your first scan it will be a bit easier to feel excited even if you are struggling with exhaustion and nausea. I hope you have a nice time with your friend tomorrow.

Brighton I went back to work full time when DS was 6 months old. In terms of coping you have to be well organised. You will soon get into a routine for getting out of the house in the morning. I think one of the biggest challenges comes with the changing role of your partner. They have been used to having you at home for maternity leave and suddenly they will need to share in things like collecting DC, getting them ready in the morning etc. It also gets much easier once baby starts sleeping through the night so that you are getting a full night's sleep most nights. I remember when I first got back to work, fantasising about going away on a no-stress -2 night business trip and having a blissful night alone in a fancy hotel! Grin

That reminds me of when I had a general anaesthetic when DS was 7 weeks old and the nurse was trying to wake me up and all I wanted to do was carry on sleeping while I could!

Casmama · 03/12/2013 19:46

Brighton I am on dc2 and went back to work at 9 months. I would agree with everything foxtrot said esp about being organised and your partner having to adjust.

I would just add that despite expecting to never want to go back to work I was absolutely ready to and enjoyed the chance to be me again and not mummy all the time.

coco808 · 03/12/2013 19:56

Sorry to hear everyone is having a hard time!

I've been feeling miserable today with the nausea. Have been constantly eating...that's the only thing that helps. Putting on so much weight and now I have a podgy big belly lol
