Kim if you can get to London the test is £400 at the FMC! I only know about it from reading on here.

hi kim welcome and congratulations! I'll add you to do roll call in a minute.

I have 17 months between my DS2 & DS3 - it's the closest gap have between kids and it was tough - although mainly because bf was awful due to tongue tie which nobody realised until DS3 was 8months old.
they will be nice and close together, it will be great! and there will be the added benefit of them starting school only 1 year apart!result! Grin

(for us it's the other way round - DS2 is July born, DS3 is December, so despite the small gp they are 2 years apart in school)

maggie

a friend of mine used to live on lucozade and chips! whatever helps..

I had a nap and overslept. I called the school that I will be late and I almost cried because I felt so sick from the stress I was close to throwing up...
I give it a week...maybe I should start a thread about "guess how long before I puke?" Grin

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 25/11/2013 16:36

maggie

I tend to see MW/GP on my own - but as the MW takes both of your medical history at booking in app if your DH can tag along it's fine.

mine normally comes to scans - although he missed it the 20-weeks one with DD because he was ill. which is why we didn't find out, I didn't want to know without him being there.

MrsB

quick list update, you beat me to it again! Grin

MrsB2013 · 25/11/2013 17:32

Hehe Zing it's easier to update the list quickly, otherwise people get lost Wink

Zing how many DC do you have?

Maggie I went to MW on my own as most of it is just filling in forms, DH will come to scans with me.

Got my midwife appointment today - 16th December. They come to our house here. And they can only give me an approximate time of 9-1. Given the length of the appointment time, I'm sure the Head is going to be thrilled that I need to have 7 out of 8 lessons covered. Of course, I could end up being in for most of them. But if there's loads of people off they may have to buy some cover in and then finishing early won't save any money. Just got his consent for me to have time off for early scan on Wednesday and the next time I see him I'm going to be asking for more time off!
I'm going to be his favourite person aren't I Confused

Sparky321 · 25/11/2013 18:20

Got to meet my little bean today, was able to see its little heartbeat and it's almost 1cm long. So happy to see that the extreme tiredness and nausea is making my baby big and strong. Just need to arrange my booking in appointment now.
7w exactly today.

elliejjtiny · 25/11/2013 18:28

Congrats on your bean sparky.

zing the mashed potato puke sounds scary. The worst thing I've puked up was a sherbert lemon, felt like I was puking glass.

mrsb pity we can't do a swap, I really don't want a C-section but my chances of getting one anyway are really high Sad

re harmony test nope, just going for whatever the NHS offers me minus the nuchal scan/triple test

AuntieMaggie · 25/11/2013 18:46

After sitting next to the smelliest smoker on the train for 4 hours (boak) i have arrived at the hotel to find they've mucked my booking up and put me in a twin room :(

teaandkittens · 25/11/2013 19:16

auntiemaggie I've got to go to London for work this week and I'm dreading it- feeling really anxious. My main worry is that ms will start just as I get on the train (I haven't had it yet, only 6 wks pg today) and then I'll be all alone and vomity without dh Sad
I have a fear of vomiting.

feeling a bit miserable today-12 weeks is so far away and I just want to know my baby is ok. Someone at dh's work just had a mc at 7wks and it's made me extra anxious.

Also petrified of ms. And have a cold. and work is just crap, I sit there thinking "What's the point, I'm having a baby!"

whinge over. I think I'm hungry!

coco808 · 25/11/2013 19:34

It is a though one MrsB. The mn thread on harmony really helped. I'm pasting it here....

coco808 · 25/11/2013 19:34

I meant tough one*

coco808 · 25/11/2013 19:35

awww sparky you must be so pleased

jaykay987 · 25/11/2013 20:04

Doctor - that is a big window the mw has given you! I'd be annoyed as it'd mean a full day off work. Good you're getting a "proper" appointment now though! Smile

I still cannot shake this headache. It's been off and on for a month. I presume it's hormones. I'm already onto my second stick of 4head! Grin

I am starting to burst! I desperately want to tell someone - anyone! Grin We have arranged to tell PIL two weeks on Sunday. That's ages away! Smile

AuntieMaggie · 25/11/2013 20:04

I know how you feel teaandkittens - I've known since 5 weeks and I'm 8 weeks now - its going so slowly I just want to know everythings ok. Still feels so surreal. I have a higher risk of mc so just want to get past the 12 week mark.

MrsB2013 · 25/11/2013 20:18

Jaykay I find those cooling gel pads are good for getting rid of headaches

OP posts:
MrsA2 · 25/11/2013 20:22

Lovely news sparky

Jaykay I'm with you! I nearly cracked and told work. Just want to be able to share with someone other than my husband. We have an early scan Friday so planning to tell my sister weekend after that when I see her. Holding out to tell the parents fade to face at Christmas but not sure I'll make it that far.

In other news my 12wk scan date has come through for 19 Dec. How does the results from nuchal and bloods work? I really, really want to know the risk level before Christmas but not sure this will give me enough time...

justhayley · 25/11/2013 21:07

Hmm feeling miserable today. How long did everyone have to wait to see a HCP? Anyone no if my first port of call has to be the GP or can I book directly to see the midwife?

I went to the GPs today to try & get a cancellation appointment but couldn't get past the dam receptionists - they are like little hitlers.

Think I'm going to have to pay for private, but think it's unfair considering I had a MC 2 months ago & was told I should get an early scan at 6 weeks - now I need one I can't even get an appointment for GP to confirm pregnancy until I'm 8! Wondering then how long it will take to see a MW or/and get a not so early early scan. Confused

6 weeks today!

justhayley · 25/11/2013 21:08

Ps anyone else REALLY thirsty?

jaykay987 · 25/11/2013 21:23

It depends on your area Hayley. Some let you self refer to mw, mine didn't. Then our me don't want you see you before 10weeks.

I'm super thirsty. And I'm never thirsty!

kim222 · 25/11/2013 21:26

Do you have the community midwives number from last time? I would just ring them and explain or get an emergency appt at the drs if you can't get past the reception, just put emphasis on the anxiety it's causing you x

Pearlsaplenty · 25/11/2013 21:43

justhayley can't you contact your epu directly and ask advice? Would they have records for you from last time? You have my sympathy, that would be very stressful.

ismarah · 25/11/2013 22:27

Does anyone know if we can use those ibuprofen gels or heat pads externally? Back is killing me after a very long day. I very sensibly normally chuck out the packaging so can't just check the box. And I don't really want to have a hot bath every time my back hurts. (Well, I do right now because I'm freezing but had a hot shower this AM and my skin can't cope in this cold. But mmmm bath.)

8+2 today. And two weeks till I see the local MW. If only I had something to occupy my mind all that time...oh yes, deadlines. That should do it..

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 25/11/2013 22:31

MrsB

we have 5 boys and a girl (she's the baby).
GP was holding her head when I explained that although we have 6 children and this is my 7th, in fact it's my 8th pg because we lost one.

she was probably shocked rather than being unable to calculate Grin

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 25/11/2013 22:32

Ismarah

ibuprofen - strictly no. sorry
not even as Lemsip.
after 13 weeks you can see an osteopath, maybe you could have a massage in the meantime but do say you are pg
