Thanks jeff and everyone for the words of advice. The bleeding and cramping has eased overnight. I just feel like I have been oofed in the stomach today! I've decided not to go to the EPU unless it starts up again. But I am counting down the days to my next scan on Tuesday!

I had a feel last night to try to see if my cervix was open and something up there felt very sore, so I have switched to the back door (lovely) for the cyclogest for the time being.

MyNameIsWinkly · 08/01/2014 11:08

euro I had forgotten you were on the foof bullets, surely they can't be helping? All the blood flow to the womble and cervix makes them a lot more sensitive and (tmi alert) I bled like a bastard after a gentle fingering. Maybe going for the back door will help a bit.

Midwife appointment went well, have to have a GTT - bastard PCOS - and then tried to listen to the heartbeat. Midwife caught it for a second then baby gave me an enormous kick and shifted to a new position, then wriggled too much to be heard. Afterwards, all my anxiety came to a head and I bawled my eyes out. Midwife was lovely and booked me in for an extra appointment at 18 weeks so I can have another listen to the wriggle-monster and reassure myself.

SinkyMalinks · 08/01/2014 14:05

Your baby has a good kick on him/her then winks!!

My area doesn't do GTT for PCOS anymore. The community midwife booked me one, but the hospital protocol has changed and I don't automatically need one! I was slightly pleased...

Of course, I'm still due my 28 week appt and bloods (to be done at 31 weeks... Bloody festive period) - I'll probably still be measuring big and have a drop of sugar in my wee and have to have one any way...

FriendofDorothy · 08/01/2014 14:06

I had to have a GTT last time. It was bloody lovely. A little blood test and then a nap for a couple of hours!

I will definitely have to have another one because I am fat :)

evilgiraffe · 08/01/2014 15:09

Kicking already, winks? Can you tell? I'm completely oblivious to anything going on inside...

I have to do the GTT because I'm a massive fatty. Yay Hmm

MyNameIsWinkly · 08/01/2014 15:11

Oh goodness no, I can't feel it, I heard it on the doppler and the midwife confirmed what I thought it was! Apparently I have a retroverted womble so it'll be a while yet before I can feel anything.

I am also a fatty but she glossed over that part.

FrankelInFoal · 08/01/2014 15:37

At my 31wk appt the midwife could hardly hear Turnip's heartbeat as she was thrashing round so much and causing interference Grin. This girlie is an active one for sure!

I didn't really notice much movement wise till about 20wks and even then it was little "popping" sensations. She's more than making up for it now though!

GingerScouse · 08/01/2014 19:21

Booking in appointment today. She put me at 7+6 based on my LMP with an EDD of 20th August!

Now the long wait for a scan date starts!

FrankelInFoal · 08/01/2014 19:47

Yay for finally getting your booking in appointment Ginge. Do you have an EDD we can add to the list?

How are you this evening Euro?

Any progress Noks? Hope you're not too uncomfortable.

The lady covering my maternity leave was telling me about her friend who is 28 weeks along with identical triplets Shock Apparently they want to perform a Caesarian at 34 weeks.

OP posts:
evilgiraffe · 08/01/2014 20:31

Identical triplets?! Wowee, that's rare! Triplets anyway is boggling enough, but identical ones is very special.

Hurrah, Ginge! You're one month and one day after my EDD Grin

FrankelInFoal · 08/01/2014 20:45

I know, apparently the midwife told her she had more chance of winning the lottery than getting identical triplets! They're natural as well, not IVF, though I guess the chances of identicals in IVF are no higher than in regular pregnancies.

Can you imagine though Shock Just the logistics of things like getting around with a 3-baby buggy and supplies for all of them

OP posts:
MyNameIsWinkly · 08/01/2014 20:51

Fuuuuck that, it was hard enough looking after twins for a day or two - triplets?! No thanks!

Nokkie73 · 08/01/2014 20:56

Yo. Sorry for being quiet.....it's all go here. So after the sweep did nothing on Monday, I have been booked-in for an induction on Friday. However, this morning.....

DP leaves for work at about ten to seven. After being awake from about four-ish until he left, I settled back down for a sleep. Woke-up at 9.45 , went for a pee (stick with it.....it's big on detail but ALL relevant ) and, lo and behold, there was some sticky clear fluid in my pyjama bottoms. Defo not pee pee, most certainly something else. So I ring maternity and they tell me to monitor the situation. So, on high foof alert, I decide to go for a walk into town just to keep moving about. I grabbed a coffee and, with a little leakage still going on, wander back to the house and ring maternity triage. The nice wee Scottish lady tells me to come in to be checked-out, so off I go to the hospital. I was strapped to a monitor and all was going ok until she asked me to change sides after she examined la fanjeroo. The baby's heart rate dropped really quickly and then she lost it completely. She looked really concerned but wasn't really saying anything. She was frantically trying to adjust the monitor to pick-up the nipper's heartbeat, which she did. Eventually (well, after a minute or so but it felt like ages). The nipper then had to be monitored for an hour afterwards, because of the sudden drop in heart rate. All is fine, but the doctor wants me to go back tomorrow for further monitoring, just as a precaution. She concluded that I was leaking mucus which some ladies get throughout pregnancy, but not leaking amniotic fluid. I am still 1cm dilated, cervix is still soft and I am having mild contractions (very very very very early labour contractions, says wee Scottish midwife) but nothing more. So, it wasn't amniotic fluid but nor was it pee pee. T'was mucus. Yuk-a-rama. And let-down-a-rama. I thought I was going to avoid the induction, give birth in the pool and give a massive two fingers to all the mockers wh have been smirking at my birth choices AGAIN, the massive fuckers. Alas, this may not come to pass.

twonks glad your one is happily moving around. You'll be able to really feel it soon Grin

ginge congrats on the scannage action. Xx

euro glad to see things have eased a bit. Am thinking of you.

Hi to everyone els.

Xx

FrankelInFoal · 08/01/2014 21:06

Noks how stressful! you poor thing. Sounds as though you've lost your "plug" though (what a revolting term!)

Hope you do manage to avoid the induction and will be thinking of you tomorrow but remember our motto - By Foof or Sunroof, who cares as long as we and baby are healthy.

MyNameIsWinkly · 08/01/2014 21:11

All drama with you norks! Glad the nipper was ok, good luck for the rest of the week.

evilgiraffe · 08/01/2014 21:18

It might all crack on tomorrow, noks, you never know! Fingers crossed the next few days go smoothly :)

eurochick · 08/01/2014 21:27

frank apparently identicals are a bit more common with ICSI - they think injecting the sperm damages the shell a little which makes it easier for it to split.

noks it sounds like thing are happening! Can you get someone to pat you firmly on the head in case you work like a ketchup bottle? Grin

I'm down to a trickle of brown blood now (lovely) and very mild cramps. I'm hoping I can last out to Tuesday for my scan, but I might cave and try to bring it forward. The punched in the stomach feeling is still there.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 09/01/2014 07:49

What drama norks! Pleased the nipper was okay and am hoping he comes out of his own accord today!

Trickling is ok, you can hold out til Tues, but you don't have to, euro! Graps toe again.

Hurrah for a scan date, ginge! And draf, you might find there is two months and a day between you. No July edds here!

Here I am finally starting to show and it's well weird!

FrankelInFoal · 09/01/2014 08:03

Good luck today Noks, you'll soon have your squishy baybee Grin

Exciting that you're getting your bump Drizz, it helps to make it all feel real.

OP posts:
evilgiraffe · 09/01/2014 08:19

Oh dear, I can't count Thanks, driz Grin

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 09/01/2014 10:48

It was one of my only/early symptoms! Started loosing really badly at board games that require counting... So draf, I hate to break it to you, but you may be diffed Wink

evilgiraffe · 09/01/2014 11:09

I am shit at all board games. Except maybe scrabble. HOTB bought a new game a few months ago; we've played on our own and with friends, and I've come last every single time...

Whatever you do don't say "baby brain" though! It's up there with Hun and babydust

MyNameIsWinkly · 09/01/2014 11:41

Ugh, I hate that phrase, but it does seem to be a real 'thing' - at least, I feel a lot stupider at the moment.

I lost at Pictionary at Christmas to the teams with 8 year olds Blush

Hey y'all

I am back from my second lot of monitoring. Then nipper is fine. Notes and print-out from the monitor reviewed by a consultant and he was happy for me to go back tomorrow morning to be induced. So, out for a last meal of fish and chips at the boozer tonight and then let the drug fest begin Grin. I am trying to be upbeat but really, I am shitting myself. The longer I have gone overdue, the harder it has been for me to keep positive about the actual birth itself. I just hope being two fecking weeks overdue doesn't increase the chances of having the nipper out via the sun roof (franks love the motto though !). If that it the way it has to be then I really have no choice but.....oh you know ! Does anyone have any experience of, or know anyone who has been induced ? Would be great to hear the stories.....
