Hurray for healthy, wriggly baybees!

Winks that's an excellent plan. I told people 'end of April' for EDD 26th April. Then when I had her on the 14th I'd only had one 'any baby news' text!

Re stretch marks, I only got them on my thighs, my tummy remains untainted. It might be cos I laid at 38 weeks, lots of women say they only stretched after 40 weeks ish. I did run in bio oil every night (no idea if it actually made a difference!).

Nokkie73 · 18/12/2013 11:48

Oh yes naughty faify reminding me that you laid at 38 weeks. I was very zen-like until I read that !

FrankelInFoal · 18/12/2013 11:50

Crossed posts with you Winks, well done to you too on wriggly bean!

Arf @ Nokks, the chocolate whore!

To be honest, I'd always thought I'd lay early noks. I had an irritable uterus and had lots of BH. A trip round Tesco was enough to set me off, she dropped and then I went pop. I'd had enough of being diffed with all those BH and electric fanjo shocks.

FrankelInFoal · 18/12/2013 23:23

Just back from watching The Hobbit 2 - either Turnip really enjoyed it or the vibrations from the cinema sound system kept waking her up. I've been kicked to heck and actually feel a bit sore!

OP posts:
evilgiraffe · 19/12/2013 08:56

Is it good, Frank? I must see if HOTB wants to see it with me early next week...

FrankelInFoal · 19/12/2013 09:09

It is good Draf, I enjoyed it a lot, apart from the kicking!

OP posts:
MyNameIsWinkly · 19/12/2013 09:14

Did more happen in it than in the first installment? First one was a bit slow.

frank when did you stop feeling completely and utterly shattered?

FriendofDorothy · 19/12/2013 09:36

Have just been to the chest and heart clinic to check out everything.

Blood pressure fine.
Cholesterol fine.
Heart rhythms fine.

They also have this maguic machine which calculates your body fat etc and she was saying 'no pacemaker? not pregnant? hope on then', and I was like, ermm.... actually I am pregnant. Has made it feel a bit real now.

FrankelInFoal · 19/12/2013 09:59

Winks there's a lot more action in this instalment, plus bonus Benedict Grin

I think the tiredness finally stopped at about 16-18 weeks, though I still find that I need a decent night's sleep the majority of the time in order to function!

Well done on the good results Dor

evilgiraffe · 19/12/2013 12:21

Excellent, dor :)

I'm really looking forward to getting a good look at Smaug, and Beorn, and Mirkwood Grin I love The Hobbit so very much.

And countdown to New Year's Day too - first new episode of Sherlock!

SinkyMalinks · 19/12/2013 12:25

Ooh, forgot about that draff!

I was at the cinema last night, except to see Anchorman 2. Not great...

FrankelInFoal · 19/12/2013 12:27

Really Sinks? I was looking forward to seeing it Sad

SinkyMalinks · 19/12/2013 12:40

Unfortunately, I thought it was pretty tired. Some laughs, but it felt forced to me. Midway through the second half, we were talking about walking out...

But, reviews seem mixed. Maybe I'm just being a grump.

Nokkie73 · 19/12/2013 13:02

We're going to see The Hobbit this afternoon. I suspect that DP will want to name the nipper after a dwarf or something. Ffs.

I am 38+5 today faify. Just saying Grin. cue a fecking tsunami of amniotic fluid gushing all over the cinema in a couple of hours time

dor well done on the results.

What are we all up to today then ? Getting into the Christmas spirit ?

OComeAllYeFaithFul · 19/12/2013 17:06

Oh I wanted to see Anchorman 2....

That's good news dor!

Noks by this time at 38+5 I had a 10 hour old baybee! Xmas Grin

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 19/12/2013 18:25

I just skived off from the work Xmas do... To knackered to stand up...

pinkr · 19/12/2013 18:39

Good news on scan sinks! At 34 Weeks little pinks was 95th centile...when she was born she was 75th and now she's steadily on the 25th. I think she'd have been much lighter than 8lb 2 if not got the gd. I was 5lb 2 at full term and mr dh was 6 lb when born. little pink I'd now 12 9...but of the wee friends we've made she's the lightest. In fact two friends were born the same week and they weight 14 and 17 9! It does make me worry a bit regarding whether i'm producing enough milk etc but she seems happy and so was the hv.
norks you must be getting majorly excited now...maybe you'll lay on xmas!

Nokkie73 · 19/12/2013 19:07

Show us your Norks pinks ! Yeah, I am majorly excited. Most things are ready and I will wrap the last of the Xmas presents tomorrow. The house (apart from the bloody billions of cardboard boxes which things come in) is tidy and so we are ready to rock and roll. Which means the little bugger will probably sit tight and not come for AGES !

We are going to see The Hobbit on Monday instead now. DP pronounced that he had 'loads to do' this afternoon, which has basically consisted of twatting about the place all afternoon mumbling about 'this Christmas lark being a big swizz'. eye roll He had to write seven Christmas cards yesterday. It nearly caused some sort of mentalist breakdown. Why are men so fecking useless at stuff like this ?

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 20/12/2013 15:05

Hello hags! I have to share that there is still someone with a heart in my belly. I got stupidly worried about it again, just before the appointment, so wept at the sound of a little horse galloping about int there. All well, BP low, midwife not worried about GD, as I am low risk and the first blood test was only just over, the second one nice and low. Anomaly scan on Jan 13th Shock and the midwife realises now she's got a basket-IVF-case on her hands and has said that I can pop in to listen to the heart if I get that worried again. Just cannot wait to feel something!

MyNameIsWinkly · 20/12/2013 15:08

That's great driz Xmas Grin Do you think you can relax for a few days now?

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 20/12/2013 15:35

A few days I should be able to manage Xmas Wink And the scan is only just over three weeks, so that is something to count down til.

FrankelInFoal · 20/12/2013 17:50

Yay Drizz Grin So I'm told "galloping horses" = girl; "runaway train" = boy

Wink

Oh the guilt of dropping your phone on a quietly feeding baby...poor little pink although I think she just got a fright, no damage and she's happily feeding away again.

OComeAllYeFaithFul · 20/12/2013 21:28

I had that with the remote control on the arm of the sofa. Also had the wonderful Hmm moment of tipping her back to do a nappy check and her vomming at the same time so it went all over her face! Poor thing!

Oh drizz :) it's such a luffly sound! Hope you can relax over Christmas thanks to that. Don't worry, I cried too. My MW knew I was super sensitive and saw me as normal but at 38 weeks I flipped out so she organised to see me twice a week to reassure me. That's what you want in a MW, someone to hold your hand when you're scaredy.
