First day sort of on my own and we survived!! Took ds1 to his rhythmtime music group thing and baby B was quite good throughout it. Then DH picked us up and dropped us at john lewis whilst he went to his office. Quite a successful day really! And the health woman dropped in to way B and he is now a massive 10lb!
Can't remember who asked but we had Ewan for ds1 and he was quite good. Haven't tried him with this fella yet but I will when I have the energy to dig him out and replace his batteries!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 04/11/2013 20:30

Weigh obvs not way

Flyer747 · 04/11/2013 21:25

Untitled the mw and feeding teams say that for a bf baby the weight gain should be approx 30g per day

GTbaby · 05/11/2013 01:43

MrsO hand prints once a month would be nice. Kept meaning to do with DS1. Will start soon. Lol
Memory maker is a company who work with mothercare, do hand castings. We have our appointment booked for nxt week Grin

Also I take a picture of lo everyday. Just a face shot. I then email pic to myself. With the date in the subject line.
I got to 5months of doing this everyday with ds1. Then switched to once a week.
Am fling it with lo as well.
I have created a folder in my inbox for each if them. Could also email yourself lil stories about them. Which one say you could forward to them. Alternative to a diary, as I can never be bothered to drip out the diary. But can happily type out an email during feeding time.

GTbaby · 05/11/2013 01:45

Also tesco vouchers- out local tesco store will double them up for us. As we have no printer.
But you mention by end of the year? Do I have to use up all my vouchers? I have a whole years worth. Which is only £35. But still £70 worth of nappies, or toys.

Sephy · 05/11/2013 01:59

orange Thanks thanks for reminding me about the shells - those seemed to work last week but for some reason I stopped bothering and the problem has recurred - can only blame lack of sleep!

Hope things going alright for those SFW.

Great idea about the photos GT.

xuntitledx · 05/11/2013 02:48

Thanks all, fingers crossed!

roxvox · 05/11/2013 03:39

GT you don't have to concern all of your Tesco vouchers. Minimum you can convert is £5, and you need to convert whole vouchers (I.e. If you had a £5 one and a £2.50 you would have to convert just £5 or the full £7.50, you couldn't convert £6 worth). Once converted you must use the double up voucher by a certain date (end of Dec in this instance I think) else you lose it, and it will not get converted back to a standard voucher either so you'll completely lose it. I think you have until Dec 20th to convert them. It's worth checking that whatever you want is in stock before you convert!

I sound like I work for Tesco (I don't) , but DH and I have been looking at what we can spend our vouchers on too. We've done well out of it in the past, using vouchers to buy our BBQ a couple of years ago. I've saved up £104 worth of vouchers this year, so just need to find something to buy on there or £208 worth of nappies

MrsO27 · 05/11/2013 06:45

Thanks for the hand casting/print advice. Booked an appointment at Mothercare for later this month with the memory maker people. I've taken loads of photos gt but need to start filing them properly. He is 3 weeks today and I have about 500 photos. Can't bring myself to delete any though!
Tesco boost vouchers need to be spent by 31st Dec I think but well worth doing it even if you do just spend them on nappies Grin

MrsO27 · 05/11/2013 06:47

P.S. Just heard DH scraping frost off car windscreen outside. Tempted to have a duvet day...

Shirehobbit · 05/11/2013 07:31

Do it, MrsO - that's my plan for the day, too!
Had a really productive and busy day yesterday, so today is all about chilling out. I've already showered and changed into clean PJs in preparation Smile

BowlFullofJelly · 05/11/2013 08:10

Haha shire, I like your style! The highlight if my evenings since emilia was born has been a bath and then into clean pjs!

roxvox, £104 in vouchers? Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that mean you have spent £10,000 in tesco Shock.

Hope today is the day dontworry. Are we waiting for any more babies?

Warlin · 05/11/2013 08:57

Hi all

I converted my vouchers in tesco recently and got £90 for nappies etc. it has now gone! My mum has said she will convert hers too and spend on nappies, wipes etc for us which is really sweet.

I am exhausted too but have a treat this afternoon. Ds1 in nursery and I'm leaving ds2 with mum to get my hair cut and coloured...2.5 hours of magazines and hit coffee...fab!

Sorry I don't get to post often but I do read...hope everyone us doing well x

roxvox · 05/11/2013 09:28

bowlfull hmm. That sounds like a lot of money! I should point out that I have been saving them for 18 months, do all of my shopping at Tesco, and I get all of my fuel from Tescos too. DH gets most of his fuel from Tesco and he does a lot of miles each year. Scary how it must add up though!

Has anyone else on here had a projectile vomit after feeding? We've had it 2 nights running now. Actually have an appointment at Alder Hey today that was already booked so good timing.

roofio87 · 05/11/2013 09:45

It can't be that much, I have £12.50 in club card vouchers and hardly ever shop at tesco!
We had a good night here, H slept from 11 30 till 4 30 then 5 till 8. Hoping he keeps it up!

littleducks · 05/11/2013 09:55

Warlin-we are using aldi nappies. Which are good and cheap even Worth the special trip we have ti make there.

Readyasilleverbe · 05/11/2013 10:12

flyer Cyrus has had major vomiting after a feed last night and just now. It really upset and worried me though he seems otherwise fine. But I called the feeding helpline, embarrassed myself by bawling down the phone, spoke to a lovely lady who said I sounded like he was feeding too fast and I should detach and wind him regularly through a feed. Don't know if that might help you. She did say its very unlikely something to worry about, and that its part of what they do. Cyrus was so hungry last night after he puked everything up, he feed for ages after. Hope your appt goes well. Oh she also said that feeding with you on your back and them on top will slow them down as they're working against gravity. X

pinkbuttons · 05/11/2013 10:16

Morning ladies, still alive aftee first day alone yesterday although did have DS wee himself twice (potty trained for 6 months) and our first project ile poo on the lounge floor. Glad you made it through too orange How was your day nat? very impressed by you being out of the house before 10!
Thankyou for the tesco tip rox just bought DS Christmas present that was already half price so got a £50 present for £12.50 of vouchers Grin I love a bargain!

flyer Isla has prijectike vomit after most feeds and was prescribed ranitidine (not sure if spelt right) for reflux. This morning I was feeding her she came off thw boob looked at me and vomited in my face, id say fron boob to face its a good 20cm. Would be impressed if it wasnt so gross. Hope appt goes well x

moonblues · 05/11/2013 10:21

Good luck for today don't worry. Hope everything goes smoothly.

4 weeks in and breast feeding has suddenly got a lot easier and much less painful. So just wanted to encourage people who are struggling, that it does get better. I think the first 6 weeks are definitely the hardest and unfortunately lots of people give up around 6 weeks, when really they've done the hard bit. But of course you have to do what you feel is best for you. I can't remember who was saying their baby was feeding constantly. That usually happens when the baby is having a growth spurt. It takes a couple of days for your milk supply to catch up with the increased demand, so you have a few days of frequent feeding before it settles down again. My worry about giving formula at this time would be that you're then not stimulating you own supply to increase IYKWIM.

Hope everything goes well at hospital today flyer. Babies sometimes get projectile vomiting with reflux.

thatsnotmypineapple · 05/11/2013 10:30

Hi all, am reading, but not posting often. If you have your induction today dontworry, i hope it goes ok.

I am glad that everyone who had their first solo day yesterday did ok. I have the opposite problem, in that people won't stop coming to "help" me. Don't get me wrong it is nice and has its advantages, particularly in entertaining dd1, but I really now just want to get into my daily routine. I know I sound ungrateful.

Can I just ask those of you who run if you have started up again? M is nearly 4 was now, and I know we are not supposed to exercise until after the 6 wk check, but it is not like I will be doing an intensive work out with lots of stomach crunches. I just feel so unfit and flabby (not that I had a particularly great body before Grin), and I think a couple of miles a day would make me feel so much better

Flyer747 · 05/11/2013 10:31

Yes we are pretty sure she has reflux it's hours and hours of inconsolable crying. We have Gaviscon but it's a pain to make up as I'm bf and she won't take a bottle of expressed milk. Gonna push for them to prescribe ranitidine today. How do you administer it pink?

thatsnotmypineapple · 05/11/2013 10:33

Also I meant to say that the very best thing to do with tesco vouchers, if you eat at pizza express (or some other chains as well) or are planning to do so, is to convert them to vouchers for that restaurant as they are worth 4 times the value. Haven't done it for a while, but that certainly used to be the case.

Shirehobbit · 05/11/2013 10:42

pineapple - I've not run yet, but am building up my walking distances first. I did a 5-6 mile walk with buggy and dog last week, but 2-4 miles is more usual.
I think I'll try a run sometime next week (so only one week ahead of the six week guidance). I think it all depends on how you feel. I've healed from my stitches/episistomy really quickly, but have started more purposeful pelvic floor exercises as something felt 'heavy' inside and I wouldn't want a prolapse! [shocked]

Flyer747 · 05/11/2013 10:43

Pineapple I really want to go running also but after a c section I think I will have to wait another 4 weeks or so.
