Cassiopeia01 · 25/10/2013 10:40

Ps - ice. Get back to work!!!

FoxMulder · 25/10/2013 10:45

But MrsK, even with a zip down the front, don't you have to take your whole top half off to pee, and thus get cold? Unless you have a willy. Do you have a willy? Grin

mrsksays · 25/10/2013 10:46

Oh i usually wear a vest top underneath so it's no biggy really.

FoxMulder · 25/10/2013 10:52

I just know if I tried it I would end up dipping the arms of the onsie down the loo or something. I think I'll have to stick with joggers & hoodie for now (although I do fancy something without a waistband).

Pram She was a regular poster on this thread who kept us all entertained because she's an interesting person with an entertaining way of writing. Hi Pram if you're reading!

Rockchick1984 · 25/10/2013 10:58

Cass go on your own profile on Facebook, and just copy and paste what's in the address bar :)

IceNoSlice · 25/10/2013 11:00

Thanks Cass mum I will! Can you send Lyra a private message on mumsnet? Go to your inbox and have a play from there to find private messaging. You need to send it to her full nickname.

MrsK pram is/was a regular. She can't come on at the moment. But you can be entertained by the rest of us (sadly without pram's trademark smut, unless you're lucky!)

MummyPig24 · 25/10/2013 11:01

I don't think I could cope with a onesie. Especially not with this expanding gut.

Dh keeps saying "you look really pregnant now." Umm, well I think I might be! Seriously I feel enormous, I'm sure I'm the size I was at term last time, my stomach muscles have given up.

mrsksays · 25/10/2013 11:03

Loving the onesie for the expanding waistline - my maternity yoga pants keep falling down so the onesie is perfect for lazy Sundays at home.

HotCrossPun · 25/10/2013 11:12

Foxy You are a hoot. Your hamster names made me chuckle.

Happy Friday everyone!

I'm just back from meeting my homebirth midwife. She was lovely. The first thing she said (after doing all my checks and looking at my notes) was ''there is absolutely no reason at all that you can't have a homebirth'' - my kind of gal Grin

She explained everything so clearly. She gave me all the info on homebirths and big studies they have done. Interestingly, even though in the national study babies & mums having serious complications was so low already, in our area it's even lower. In 4 and a 1/2 years they have had one mum who had a complication with heavy bleeding and 2 babies who had serious breathing complications (both were fine and discharged from hospital a few days later) so it seems I am in good hands.

I'll be seeing an awful lot of her too it seems. I've got another appointment in 4 weeks, then 3 weeks after that and then homevisits and lots of other things. And she said that when I give birth she will be out every day for the first 3 days and then however many more times I need somebody there they will be there, (with a minimum of 3 further visits over the 2 weeks after I give birth.)

I am feeling a little bit in love with NHS Scotland this morning Grin

JustCallMeBaldrick · 25/10/2013 11:19

We are having real trouble with names! It's a good job it's a girl, as we had no boys names whatsoever. We have a middle name - Rose - but can't agree on a first name. So far the front-runners are Jessica and Grace, but we're not really convinced by either of them, and all the other names we like begin with A. This wouldn't normally be a problem, but of our 3 DCs, 2 begin with A already, and the 3rd feels a bit left out, so it would compound that if we had another A. God, the politics of naming a baby!! No-one warns you about this, do they?
I also have really bad backache when I walk for any length of time. It feels like my lower back's in a vice. I think I need to try and dig out my support band from the loft, but I can't be arsed at the moment.

mrsksays · 25/10/2013 11:35

Luckily we have a boy and a girl name all 100% decided - so when the little one makes its entrance DH is going to introduce them to me by name :)

Blockette · 25/10/2013 15:10

Had such a busy day at work - even had someone assend from on high London to visit lowly old me in Wales (I work all on my own while the rest of the company lives in London, and my manager only bothers to visit once every 6 months)

BUT I CANT BE BOTHERED TO DO ANYTHING!!! - it almost takes as much effort to fake it then to do the work, so I have given in and done all my work like a good girl :) now if Mr London would kindly p-off back to head office I could finish my day watching iplayer!

lumpylumps · 25/10/2013 16:25

So I know this is my third baby and so should know but what do braxton hicks feel like? I get weird feelings and thought it was the baby doing a full turn but wonder now if that's what it is.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 25/10/2013 17:19

I don't get why Pram keeps being blocked. IMO she hasn't done anything worth getting blocked for.

How do I PM someone on here? I want to join the FB group but I can't work out how to PM.

Wow Hot, they certainly give you a lot of visits. Here they've cut back loads so it's just day one and day five you get a visit as standard and then after that you have to go to a clinic if you want to be seen. (Although we ended up with an extra visit on day zero with DD2 because the scales were broken so someone had to come out with some different scales later that day.)

Lumpy, when I got them last time (about 23 weeks) I initially thought it was the baby moving but then it felt more widespread and lasted longer and I felt my bump and realised they were BHs. So far this time (currently 19 weeks) I think I've possibly been having them as every so often I get this feeling where I feel like there is loads of pressure inside kind of as if my skin isn't big enough for what is inside but my bump is still so small that it's hard to tell.

HotCrossPun · 25/10/2013 17:42

mrsk Are you going to tell us the name?

BWP I know. I was really surprised when she said how many times I'd be seeing her (before and after the birth.)

It's the weekend! Anybody else missing wine? I have a hankering a nice chilled glass of Rose' tonight. I know I could have a glass and it would be fine, but I really want to sit and watch a film and drink at least half a bottle Grin

lumpylumps · 25/10/2013 18:06

I asked mn why pram keeps getting banned and they replied with a pretty non committal response saying it's continually breaking the talk rules! Also once banned always banned!! Pretty rubbish really. The threads not the same without her!

Hot I'm really missing wine this time!! It never bothered me before but definitely this time! Only another 4 months!!!

apprenticemamma · 25/10/2013 18:36

yep me too hottie going for dinner and a movie ...maybe filth and going to have a glass of pinot grigio :) Wink Usually have a glass a week after first trimester.

MummyPig24 · 25/10/2013 18:57

I didn't really drink before I was pregnant but every now and then I really fancy a glass of wine.

The Braxton hicks feel like my tummy is swelling up, like a right feeling that is slightly uncomfortable.

MacD75 · 25/10/2013 19:24

Yep, I'm missing wine, I'd love a large glass of sauvignon!

I'm impressed some have thought so much about names, we had some boys names in mind but girls names have us stumped. Dh is getting his choice of surname so I reckon that gives me (almost) free reign with the first name. I'm thinking something scottish, maybe celtic, but nothing gaelic - the spelling is too complicated!

Do braxton hicks feel like contractions? I'm only just feeling wee toty kicks, which feels so bizarre!

Cassiopeia01 · 25/10/2013 19:34

Lumpy - I just chanced on another thread where they are talking about someone only being banned for a week so don't see why pram has to be banned forever. I think it sucks. I don't think she was as offensive as some people who have posted on other threads. In fact I think she is hilarious. Boo to MN.

PiratesMam · 25/10/2013 20:00

Ooh ice we love centre parcs! Pancake house, spa, jobs a good'un! We have been 3 years in a row though so DH says we have to go somewhere else next year, boo. DS thinks "holiday" actually means "centre parcs".

The Braxton hicks feels like a tightening of the bump; at this stage usually below the belly button so it would feel like baby lying across the bottom of your bump, but it's actually your BHs starting. I've had a few now.

So who has heard about the storm coming on Monday morning? I hold my hands up, it's our fault - roof is supposed to be coming off the house then for the loft conversion. Shiiiiit. Today I've spent the day sourcing satellite engineers for our neighbours who all have no telly due to our beastly scaffolding. So stressful already, they've not even started the proper work yet and it's bloody half term next week!!! So for all those craving wine, let me join you in a Wine - we have a bottle of white in the fridge and DH has gone out to get our Chinese takeaway!!

THANK GOD IT IS THE WEEKEND Confused

PS I miss Pramalamadingdong too. About now she'd say something cheeky about my naice path. Pram if you are reading, have these Thanks I nicked them out of my neighbours gardens whilst my satellite man repositioned their dishes.

PiratesMam · 25/10/2013 20:10

PS no clue about names yet but heard a lovely girls one today - Iona Smile

MummyPig24 · 25/10/2013 20:12

Enjoy your Chinese pirates.

After the kids had gone to bed and I had cleaned up I went into the living room and took my bra off, as you do, and dh said my boobs are "as veiny as a porn stars cock." How charming!

BadlyWrittenPoem · 25/10/2013 20:49

I've just gone and read the talk guidelines and can't work out why Pram was banned.

mrsksays · 25/10/2013 21:21

hotcrosspun Sorry no, names are under strict embargo - my DH would kill me!
