February 2014. The cake mix is in the mug, the microwave is on, it's slowly rising and we'll be pinging in three more months!

Sadly my cake mix is rising too much and resulting in a serious muffin top.

Awww welcome Star! I'm due 1st feb with my first, also a girl. You are most welcome in the anterior placenta club too - so many of us seem to have them!

Will forward you the info winterflowers :D The class lady send us loads of stuff, some are hand outs for the course and others are interesting things to consider so will mail anything i think may be useful.

Awww Marzi, I know, it made me cry too! lets hope all our births are as lovely! x

Starbellybigbelly · 21/10/2013 20:47

Misskat that would be fab!
The sonographer played it down at the time, but of course by the time you google it I was scared to do anything!!
Would be great to have some good info.
Many thanks! :)

Sorry I seem to have missed loads if messages before I replied! Shropshire, I've had a look on iTunes - I've heard Katherine Graves recommended as being pretty good.

Awww lovesto I can't believe you're still feeling so sick, you poor thing! You must be so tired of it! Really hope it goes soon. I've been feeling sick again this week and that's bloody bad enough, I feel for you still actually being sick!

Petty I hope you feel better soon too! I bet your ds had a whale of a time though Grin

Star if you pm your email I'll send you the hypno stuff x

Littlestgirlguide · 21/10/2013 21:02

Went into Mothercare at lunch time today for a browse and found that rarest of things, gender-neutral sleep suits with cute designs that aren't beige! They've got little duckies, rainbows and giraffes on :-) and 3-packs are buy one get one half price.
Also got a changing mat that matches my nursery bedding (bruin Jungle Chums range) half price. I love a bargain!

Going to have to stop shopping though, or I will have nothing to do in January when I'm not at work and I am home alone while DH works and DD is at school!

gnittinggnome · 21/10/2013 21:05

Shropshire I've got the Katherine Graves book/cd, and so far really like it. I've tried a few from iTunes to middling success - one hypnobirthing cd was made by a man with the creepiest voice, I haven't listened to anything beyond the first minute. But I like her voice, and her attitude.

LovesToBake · 21/10/2013 21:20

Littlest I like the sound of your purchases. Whilst we have most of the necessary baby kit from DS (20 months), I want to buy a new changing mat as his is a bit faded and knackered looking now. Similarly, trying not to race into doing things now, as I'll be off work in January and DS will still be in nursery 2 days a week so I want to enjoy my leisurely perusing of the few baby purchases I need to make then!

jenpatnim · 21/10/2013 21:32

I have bought literally nothing bar the pram, I don't know where to start! It is so overwhelming

misskatamari · 21/10/2013 21:51

Oh my god littlest I am getting myself down to mothercare if they have baby grows with ducks on! I am obsessed with ducks! Will have to hide from DH tho as I've done a fair bit of bargain buying on eBay recently. I think he forgets that the baby will need clothes! Grin

misskatamari · 21/10/2013 21:52

Jen it is totally overwhelming I know what you mean. Try to just focus on one thing at a time maybe? I've found that has helped me figure out what I need without sending myself doolally with the endless options! I think if you have the pram tho that's the biggest battle over as picking them is just soooo hard!

sunflowered · 21/10/2013 21:52

I'm lagging behind on the shopping - grand total of 2 babygrows and a pack of vests so far... Hoping family members won't mind getting baby stuff as xmas presents, it beats toiletries and much more fun to shop for.

Just spotted a July thread starting up. February is suddenly starting to sound wonderfully soon Smile

Looked at anxieties at lazy daisy tonight. I don't have any particular panic triggers about labour yet so just went through the exercises enjoying the chance to relax. Then came home and burst into conpletely unexplained but very therapeutic tears. I'd be a quivering wreck after full on hypnobirthing if that's anything to go by!

Poppy954 · 21/10/2013 22:03

Not much to say but this is useful to track how many weeks / months you are. You need to put in the first day of your last period but remember to adjust it if your dates were changed at the scan. So for example, my LMP was 3rd may but I was put back a week at the scan so I've put 10th may for the LMP which makes me right for the dates they've given me.
At 24 weeks younger 5.5 months pregnant and 60% of the way through.

Star....I have a low lying placenta too, my thoughts are at least they know and are monitoring it and we get an extra peek at our babies at 32 weeks Smile theres a very high possibility that it'll have moved by then so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
I've finally got a bump and feeling lots of movement now which is fab!

barebranches · 21/10/2013 22:19

AAh got it!!! didn't think to check the "social" part of gmail... to confusing!

welcome newbies Smile

EeyoreIsh · 21/10/2013 23:03

Evening all. I've had a lovely day off visiting friends in Bristol before a meeting here tmw. And the excellent news for the day is that DH applied for a job yesterday, and got a call to interview for Wednesday! It means he'll have to prepare (including a lesson plan) tmw rather than doing tourist things in Bristol, but it's very good news. I'm so chuffed for him.

In other news, my bump has suddenly grown really rather large! Fellow small bumped ladies, there is hope yet! mine has grown impressively in the last few days Grin I've also put on 3kg in as many weeks, which also means I've finally put some weight on this pregnancy. Maybe time to slow down on the cake front... Today I've had a muffin, slice of chocolate cake and crumble! Yummy. 25+1.

Whoputtheramintheramadamadingd · 22/10/2013 05:40

Welcome to Bristol eeyorish! Great news about your DH. Fingers crossed... Get yourself to primrose cafe in Clifton for the best cake to be had. Cake

Whoputtheramintheramadamadingd · 22/10/2013 05:43

My right calf has been threatening ninja cramp for the last half hour, but I'm onto it's ninja ways... It's like a growling dog in the corner waiting to attack! Think I'll hunt down a cuppa now, fully awake.

Somanychanges · 22/10/2013 07:48

Ok I was trying to embrace the waking in the night, the 100 toilet trips and the sore hip. I was thinking its all natures way of preparing me for the sleepless nights with a newborn. But I have had a change of heart, I still have over 3 bleeping months to go. Surely I can start having the sleepless nights in January? I am just too tired now and so sick if being up twiddling my thumbs when I want to be asleep.

Ok moan over must finish getting my son ready for school. Good day to you all Halloween Confused

vix206 · 22/10/2013 08:18

Found you all.

Not been able to read many posts since last week but just to say I'm totally with you on the aching/cramps legs and back. I sleep 10-3 and that's it most nights. I was the same with DS and sadly it got much, much worse as time went by Hmm

gnittinggnome · 22/10/2013 08:32

durk we're heading to the Baby Show on Saturday - am a little excited, as I think DH will finally relent with buying stuff... Plus I've been told that quite a few companies will offer good discounts at the shows, so I have a list of thing to buy, divided into "must have straight away" right through to "would be nice but frivolous". I have my F-Uggs (fake uggs from Monsoon, lasted two winters, soooo comfy), a litre bottle of water and walnuts to keep me going, all of which DH will be carrying (he doesn't know this yet).

somany I've been getting a sore hip as well, but may have found some little comfort in a small cushion placed beneath one hip, and sleeping on that. So I'm kind of tilted 3/4 onto my back, but not fully, so no squashed veins, big fat pillow between the knees, weight on the (by now fairly well padded) back of the hip (not square on the side) and so far it seems to be working. DH now has a narrow strip to share with two cats, but he could sleep on a wire so is no suffering. It might be worth trying, if you can muster the necessary padding. I've also been bing! wide awake at around 4am, to face the eternal dilemma - stay in bed and try to sleep, in frustration, or get up and do useful things and then feel knackered again?
