I would start trying again now if I could. Think DP would too. Have to wait a year due to cs though, so that takes us to jujy, then we're getting married in sept. So think we will start trying then, all being well. Good job I started so bloody late or suspect i would fancy about nine! Blush

BraveLilBear · 18/11/2013 17:15

Alex I had losds of caprisuns, some muesli bars, some of those dried fruit strips... but I never got to eat any in labour as I wasn't allowed due to being on the drip :( was given a dry nhs egg sarnie and yoghurt at 430 ish before drip went in, had H at 230 and didn't get anything else til 8am (toast) which I then threw back up. So after a few hours I was delighted to have a bag full of goodies (as was DP).

Definitely a good idea to pack some squash concentrate - makes the copious amount of water you'll drink taste nice!

I definitely want another little bundle of joy but will have to wait due to childcare costs. Did have a mini panic yesterday that I could be pregnant again - one of my boobs was sore. Eventually realised that the ahem CM situation means that's an impossibility.

IIt's weird though, all the tiny babies at baby massage do make me broody!

Alexandra6 · 18/11/2013 17:29

I'm getting excited about going into labour soon! Finding myself buying pineapple and thinking about attempting to seduce DH (although not sure I like the idea of preggers sex and wondering if that's a bad idea after the bleed I had. It's crossed my mind though! And someone told me the only proven way to stimulate the uterus is to tweak nipples but don't want to make them sore before I've even started BF! Maybe I should calm the excitement down and just enjoy baby free mat leave for a bit Grin

alex do you have a breast pump? Might be worth a go? Wink

Alexandra6 · 18/11/2013 19:03

I keep thinking of MIL saying to avoid this Saturday as it's our nieces birthday but at the same time I don't want to go overdue and am excited about it happening!

janey I still haven't finished my hospital bag completely, you'd think I'd learn wouldn't you, going to sort it tomorrow morning!

janey1234 · 18/11/2013 19:07

Wtf? She is lovely and very chatty but if anyone tried to tell me when I couldn't give birth, I'd do everything I could to do it on that day. As if you can help it?!!

And yes - pack those bags!xx

janey1234 · 18/11/2013 19:09

Oh and you can come and borrow my breast pump on Saturday - it can all be sterilised so is perfectly clean. Was also thinking that if nothing has happened by next Mon you could come to baby massage with me if you want? Had the first free NHS lesson today and miles loved it - wish we had been able to do it sooner. You could come and learn all the moves!

Alexandra6 · 18/11/2013 19:12

I know, she's in my bad books for a couple of other comments too Wink

Alexandra6 · 18/11/2013 19:29

Cross post janey but I have a breast pump thanks, just need to work out how to use my new steriliser! Wink And yes to baby massage! Smile

BraveLilBear · 18/11/2013 19:33

Ah the old 'you're not allowed to give birth on x day' trick. From the moment she found out I was pregnant, my sister said it better not arrive on my birthday/I'll hate it if it arrives on my birthday. ..

Guess what? I phoned to wish her happy birthday from my hospital bed, 6 hour old DS crying in my arms. She's come round to it :)

Bet yoyrs arrives on Saturday!

janey1234 · 19/11/2013 05:38

Fab night. So far Miles has been up at 1.20, 2.30, 3.15, 3.45, 4.30 and 5.15. Joy.

Yawn.

BraveLilBear · 19/11/2013 05:56

Oh Janey Shock

Alexandra6 · 19/11/2013 07:15

How long is he up for at those times and does he feed each time?! Any tears? (Just preparing myself!) Sorry you had a bad night x

Alexandra6 · 19/11/2013 07:16

"I can't believe he isn't sleeping through the night yet!" Wink

Cavort · 19/11/2013 09:30

Brew Janey?
I can't make my mind up if our situation here is better or worse than yours, but our night last night went like this...
19.20 - In bed.
Midnight - woke up, fed, straight back to sleep.
03.30 - woke up, fed, stayed awake until 05.30 Angry
05.40 - woke up, straight back to sleep.
05.50 - woke up, awake for 20 minutes.
07.15 - got up

Aaaarrgghhh!!!!

I am just watching her take her nap and she's so restless. Goodness knows what's going on inside her little head at the moment but I wish it would hurry up! I have an increasingly distant memory of my baby who used to wake once or twice a night to feed and then go straight back to sleep. Confused

MotherOfCleo · 19/11/2013 09:47

wow feel for you guys!!! Sad that sounds like Harvey at 2 or 3 days old. So frustrating when they won't sleep! Confused

janey1234 · 19/11/2013 11:41

I think I need Wine to be honest cavort!

I was actually thinking of you in the night, also wondering what was worse; lots and lots of short waking ups, or getting up in the early hours for a couple of hours. Think both are knackering tbh. Brew for you too, and lots of Wine just in case

HazleNutt · 19/11/2013 12:51

Viki woke up at midnight, 1, 3, 5 and then 7. As he just fed and went back to sleep then not so bad for me - I definitely manage short waking ups better.

BelissimaLol · 19/11/2013 13:09

How long has this nightmare been going on for you ladies? L will be 17 weeks on sat and so far she's had a couple of really bad nights but went back to normal. Her evenings have gone worse- last night she only went to sleep at 10:30 but then woke up at 4 and 8 only. Should I get hopeful?
We're both struggling with this cold now and I feel utterly shitConfused
I think I prefer lots of quick wake ups rather than a really long one.
Any news Alex???

Alexandra6 · 19/11/2013 13:25

Nothing to report! Just a couple of braxton hicks and I'm not sure if they were braxton or bumpy having a good stretch! Have a bit of a headache and very tired today but not sure they're a sign of anything and you guys are probably feeling just as tired! Need to go shopping for my last couple of baby bits later (oh and sort out my hospital bag!!!)

CatsCantFlyFast · 19/11/2013 18:38

Sorry to hear about the sleeping woes ladies, FX the babies get with the program tonight.

2 questions- did you all feel permanently full when pregnant? I always feel as though I have just eaten an entire Xmas lunch even when I haven't eaten anything, and its pretty uncomfortable

Secondly - cavort, what was the story with your spd? My bruised fanjo seems to be hear to stay, and it hurts when I stand, walk or turn over in bed. Is there anything else this could be?

MotherOfCleo · 19/11/2013 18:57

Merk Harvey was always really low down so unfortunately I was always able to eat more than I should I never suffered with feeling full. Wish I had of though, as I was eating like a horse near the end. Blush

I had pgp (pelvic girdle pain), nowhere near as painful as spd, but enough to take your breath away when rolling over in bed. I would guess yours is one of the two. Hope you're doing ok!

CatsCantFlyFast · 19/11/2013 19:11

I'm fine, just not really enjoying the experience! Am looking forward to having my body back.
I'm not really in pain but concerned it might develop that way in the coming weeks. Oh and the feeling full is not stopping me from eating, I am disgusted with how much food I am putting away!!

MotherOfCleo · 19/11/2013 19:38

Haha, merk you sound like me with food Wink Grin

I am having a bit of a poorly day. Started the day with bad trapped wind (sorry tmi and its going to get worse ) and constipation, being constipated after a c section is scary, now I have trapped wind and diarrhea Sad

Feeling tired and ropey, trying to drink heaps as worried being dehydrated will affect milk supply.

On a less manky note, is it ok for Harvey to sleep on his side? When he has wind laying on his back means he wakes up really grouchy, I spend ages winding him but sometimes he still suffers, but on his side the wind seems to come up on its own. Plus he had reflux earlier and woke up choking on milk and got in a huge panic, if he'd been on his side it wouldnt have bothered him. I roll blankets either side so he cant roll onto his front.
He's gone down for a nap on his side both this morning and now without any movement and seems happy as larry. Just thought I'd check what the general thoughts were. Anxious first time mum I'm afraid.
