Jolleigh · 17/10/2013 21:33

Now I'm slightly worried that you don't know how you cut your fanny lip gawjus Confused

lumpylumps · 17/10/2013 21:34

pram love the summary. It's pretty scary that that lot of women you've just described are going to be responsible for real live little people!!!

I'm ringing hr tomorrow. Seriously pissed off about the voucher thing. My manager put off doing my risk assessment cos she was being crap. As a result I didn't get my maternity pack till last week when I was already past the 16 week cut off!!!

x0gawjus0x · 17/10/2013 21:44

Lol i really have no idea maybe i wiped too hard its just like a straight down slit like a paper cut or something :s

apprenticemamma · 17/10/2013 21:46

lumpy good luck. Make a point of ringing vouchers people and payroll tomorrow too. (wags finger ). It would make me very happy if I prevented someone else getting financially burnt in mat pay. Work's so hectic that I didn't prioritise this and wish d I had. Good news is u can rejoin scheme usually and if u ask payroll they advise if it's worth ur while to keep getting vouchers on mat leave. As ds is continuing with nursery 2 days we will continue.

gaw look after yourself hon that sounds sore.

becca chill ...please, my scan buddy!. Impressed at you and those resisting finding out mind u.

x0gawjus0x · 17/10/2013 21:46

becca I was thinking all sorts of things and crazy shit on google about 20w scan but it couldnt of gone better and im sure yours will be perfect too :)

OwlinaTree · 17/10/2013 22:48

Congrats kara!

I'm just home from a lovely evening with some friends I see every so often but am absolutely stuffed! DH away on a work jolly, so whole bed to myself.

jolls I'm putting off buying new bras, I know mine are ill fitting but I don't want to face the truth!!

IceNoSlice · 17/10/2013 22:56

Evening all.

PramsAMam(nearly) genius. Every week, please.

Apprentice thanks for the heads up on the vouchers - I looked into it and I'm not affected because my vouchers come out of my benefits which get paid during mat leave anyway. But I defo think it worth doing (ie suspending) for the qualifying weeks 18-25 if you are affected. However it is worth pointing out two things-

  1. if you started receiving them before April 11 then you are on the 'old scheme' and this is more advantageous so it may not be in your interests to stop - you would likely be put on the 'new scheme' when you restart them.
  2. if you stop or suspend the vouchers you obviously lose the tax benefit for those months. You can't put in a back-claim for vouchers - you have to opt for them at that point in time BUT you don't need to spend the vouchers in the month you get them- me and DH accrued 10 months worth before DS started nursery as that worked out at around £1000 less tax we paid. And we knew DS would be in childcare. I started getting them whilst on mat leave, about a month after DS was born - you can't get them before you have a child.

Sorry that is boring to many I'm sure, but might be useful for someone. Now, where is that sexy dwarf you're all blathering about? Has pram promised him filth for a fiver?

Honestly, all that GoT talk meant I had a dream that Kit Harrington/ Jon Snow was the father of my child. Weirdest thing was that I made him wash his hair and get a haircut Hmm

apprenticemamma · 18/10/2013 07:37

dreamt I had a wee red haired girl. she came out as developed as a one year old. Let's see what the scan says!...

liberuna · 18/10/2013 07:53

Me too apprentice dreamt of a beautiful girl running around begging for boob.

On bra front I've gone up to DD and the bras at Primark are brilliant. Supportive without the mono boob.

My sil called her daughter Alarna. Confused

So sorry to hear about the idiot drivers, bad colds and annoying mw. Hope you are doing better now. A cut on your foof? What are you wiping yourself with?

Love the synopsis pram please put me down for one horny dwarf, , very yummy.

Yeah Lyra on shop and house. What an adventure!

question for you guys..... Need to make a decision on my impending redundancy. ...

There are two jobs on offer. As this is my first child, should I a) go for a admin role that is office based and has a potential to go part time.
OR b) go for a shift work pattern role that will be autonomous and I get to choose my hours? Both pay about the same

FoxMulder · 18/10/2013 09:50

Thanks for the concealer advice everyone. I will take my list to Boots and check out what you are talking about. I have never heard of most of these brands. I have no idea about make-up!

Tricky one there lib Think I need more info to decide! If you can choose your hours with B, is it necessarily shift work? I mean, couldn't you choose to do regular hours?

Any plans for the weekend, everyone?

FoxMulder · 18/10/2013 09:52

Are most people's work actually doing risk assessments then? I can't imagine that happening here.

Jolleigh · 18/10/2013 10:07

Mine is doing regular risk assessments Fox - in fact we're doing a new one this afternoon because of the SPD diagnosis. But I work for a very well known company who are in the press often enough without employees suing them for things so they're extremely careful on the pregnant women front... I imagine smaller businesses may be more prone to overlook this.

lumpylumps · 18/10/2013 10:19

God these vouchers are confusing. I've cancelled then from next month so hopefully that will give me 3 weeks of full pay. I've just spoken to the voucher company and they can't do anything any ponder but I'm waiting for payroll to ring me back so they might be able to help.

I'm cancelling them cos although Ds will still be going to nursery, he's 3 so gets funded hours.

MummyPig24 · 18/10/2013 11:18

A few people have had weird baby related dreams haven't they? Both my baby dreams have resulted in me having a baby girl even though I'm sure it's a boy.

My nipples are so sore and itchy. I need to get me some lansinoh.

dizhin79 · 18/10/2013 11:19

I have another risk assessment next week, think reassigning May be discussed as I do a very physical job and often lone working too, again Work for a government organisation so lots of support and good policies

Blockette · 18/10/2013 11:47

Hello everyone!

In all my dreams I've had a girl, and as I'm always wrong, I'm now sure it is a boy! - 6 days till we find out!

  • I'm so hungry today, so DH is taking me to Nando's for lunch! Grin
MummyPig24 · 18/10/2013 12:25

Nandos! I'm so jealous! Although I've got my sights set on a homous and cucumber wrap. Or maybe two.

Dd has eaten a ham wrap on the way home from school, then beans on toast and a yogurt. She literally didn't day a word and just shovelled it all down. I think she might have been hungry?!

apprenticemamma · 18/10/2013 12:43

scan went wellGrin

healthy baby GIRLGrin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin !!!!

Over the moon although would have been either way!. Three grandsons and two step grandsons in the family so very exciting for a first girlSmile . D step daughters and son thrilled too to have a wee sister.

(just re read that and the blended family thing makes it sound v confusing)Shock

Also have anterior placenta and may need c section but will be decided at 34 weeks. Anyone else have this issue or had it in the past?

MummyPig24 · 18/10/2013 12:54

Aww another girl, lovely news apprentice!

HotCrossPun · 18/10/2013 13:07

Great news on your scan apprentice

I had mine yesterday and also have an anterior placenta. Is yours lying low the reason that you may need a c-section?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 18/10/2013 13:09

Lovely news Apprentice! We are very girl heavy aren't we!! Why might you need a c-section? Is your placenta very low down?

Lib I personally would take the office based role. Would be much easier on your body than shift work

Fox I think hr have to offer pregnant ladies a risk assessment. That's my understanding anyway.

MummyP I was convinced I was having a boy, but only had baby girl dreams! And I'm having a girl. It's obviously all in the subconscious Wink

apprenticemamma · 18/10/2013 13:14

Thanks everyone! placenta it's very low lying explaining the lack of movement I've been feeling. If it doesn't shift up the way by 34 weeks scan at 37 then they will decide.

would prefer not to have cs but I'm not too bothered tbh if it gets me out of labour and preserves my fanjo! Lovely doc promised me an epidural this time if it's a normal delivery after my last birth. ..

Blockette · 18/10/2013 13:15

Ahh Congrats Apprentice! another girl! wow not sulking that I guessed wrong
