No my parents live 40miles away and they are looking after my DS for a few days over the half term.

I'm currently at work but it's the last place that I want to be. What is the general advice when one's bleeding? Are you meant to rest or carry on as normal? My sister was signed off for 6 weeks but I'm aware that all GPs and medical advice is different.

TinyTear · 28/10/2013 15:14

Hello Baking, welcome

London last time I carried on as normal... I was young(er) and stupid... This time I have been coming to work but after the ERPC on wednesday will take at least thursday and friday off sick

it's up to the individual... some times i feel better getting normality in my life - like work... other times I want to be away...

LondonSuperTrooper · 28/10/2013 15:30

Welcome Baking.

Thanks got your advice Tiny. If I'm miscarrying then I'm definitely taking time off from work. My head is all over the place :(

Tiny, have you had your ERPC yet?

Bakingtins · 28/10/2013 15:33

Ok, so now I've read the thread and see it has already been far from a smooth ride. Sorry, foot in mouth syndrome.

london I would rest if you can. I don't think there is any evidence to say it makes a difference, but it will remove a "what if?" question if you know you gave your body the best chance for things to settle. I would think it is very hard to concentrate at work until you know what is going on anyway?

For those of you covered in bruises, I had a horrendous one the first time I injected clexane (I think Fragmin is the same thing?) but have got on much better after advice on here to ice the area before and after injecting, stretch the skin out rather than pinch up a fold, and expel the air from the syringe before injecting. I now sometimes get a 2mm bruise at the needle site as opposed to a massive 3cm one that took weeks to fade.

TinyTear · 28/10/2013 15:49

London, it's on Wednesday morning. they had another booked for today and don't do them on tuesdays.

But I shall keep you all updated and while I am not staying in the main thread, i want to stick here and wish you all the best outcome

  • selfishly I sometimes resent people who have an easy ride, but do rejoice in people who know how hard it is having good pregnancies!

I had clexane for a week after my c-section and can't remember the bruises... maybe I was still too numb from all the epiudural and drugs it all wore off a bit...

lucyfluff · 28/10/2013 16:00

London...what a crappy situ to be in...you poor thing. Hugs to you. Keep us updated Im still peeking in now and then.

Tiny hugs for later on in the week with the ERPC too Smile

hackneybird · 28/10/2013 16:29

Tiny I also sometimes resent people that I perceive to have had an easy ride too. 'How can these people just have one or more babies so easily?' I mutter to myself.

Then I think about all the many women I know who have experience tragedy and know it's often not like that.

Thinking of you London.

Penguinita · 28/10/2013 17:57

Welcome tins, dont I know you from somewhere? Grin

So sorry to hear what you are going through london, the waiting must just be agony. I think it is up to you whether you take time off work, but if you carry on then make sure you have big sanitary pads and some painkillers in your handbag, and a quick way to get home. I started to MC when abroad, was fine for three days and carried on sightseeing. But then it kicked in big style suddenly and all I could do was curl up on the bed/bathroom floor and groan. You don't want to be stuck at work if that happens. Keeping everything crossed for you Flowers

Bakingtins · 28/10/2013 19:03

Yes! The general pregnancy after MC thread.

LondonSuperTrooper · 29/10/2013 00:23

Thank you all. I've got maternity pads and will buy painkillers on the way to work. I think that I am miscarrying now. The full ache/ pain combined with the red blood ( and some clots) confirmed it for me. I'm gutted :( I made it 1.5 week further than my last miscarriage.

I'm going into work tomorrow as I have several meetings lined up. I'll clear my schedule and will most likely take the rest of the week off.

LondonSuperTrooper · 29/10/2013 00:26

And what is with men and denial? My DH keeps having a go at me for not being positive and I'm like "well I am in pain and bleeding!" So he just ordered me to rest this evening in the hope that beanie stays put Confused

Bakingtins · 29/10/2013 06:25

london I am so sorry. Do you really need to go to work? They will manage, you need to put yourself first.

tannyLoo72 · 29/10/2013 06:59

I agree. London you need to look after yourself, your body needs rest so it can do what it needs to, and you need time to grieve. Sad

I know everyone is different, and I don't know about your work, but be kind to yourself. Thanks

Hope it goes ok.

tannyLoo72 · 29/10/2013 07:01

Jen, how are you? What happened yesterday?

Penguinita · 29/10/2013 08:26

So sorry to hear that london. It must be so hard to get further than last time and have it happen all over again. Reading back, I see you had a scan and saw a HB too, which must make it even harder. Sending you and Flowers

Hee hee hi tins . We have had a lot of sad news here on this thread but it is a great support. I like the pg after MC thread but I can't quite imagine ever being ready to drop like some of them are, so it is nice to be here too with some like minded ladies! Smile

TinyTear · 29/10/2013 08:39

london do finish off loose ends but then take time off and relax... today I am finishing off some projects but then will be off the rest of the week, at least

Jen weren't you having a scan yesterday? any news?

LondonSuperTrooper · 29/10/2013 09:30

Thanks for the support. I'm actually at home right now. Couldn't face going into work- I was up till 5am this morning and was feeling shattered.

Thanks again.

seatfor5 · 29/10/2013 14:03

I cant really join the group as I have only had one MC at 6 weeks so not really recurring although I have started bleeding a little this time and have a scan at the EPU booked for 3.15 today so really scared! I just wanted to say my thoughts are with you London, and Pjen I do hope your all ok.

hackneybird · 29/10/2013 16:16

Just popping in to say I'm thinking of you London.

Bakingtins · 29/10/2013 18:24

seatfor5 hope all was ok at your scan.

PJen · 29/10/2013 18:29

seatfor5, good luck! I don't think you have to have recurrent miscarriage to be part of this team. This team is for anyone who has had issues and is going through difficult time. Anyone who has a bumpy road and needs support is welcome here.

Thanks London, Tanny and Tiny for asking about me. I had and ultrasound today and the tech didn't tell me a thing. However, I looked at the screen and saw two empty black sacs. Dr called and confirmed; dating only before 7 wks (9 and half weeks today). I am waiting for nature to do its thing for a week. If not I will think about options next week :(

tannyLoo72 · 29/10/2013 18:43

Oh Jen that's heartbreaking. So so sorry to hear this.

I really don't know what to say, except take care and know that we're all thinking of you. Thanks

Big hugs x

TinyTear · 29/10/2013 19:08

Oh Jen so sad for you...

Sometimes nature doesn't want to do it itself... I havent' had a drop of blood since spotting at 4w...

Bakingtins · 29/10/2013 19:36

Jen I am v sorry to hear your news. It is so crap that we have to go through this over and over again.
I haven't grasped who has had what tests or diagnosis yet. If you are embarking on that process (any of you) there is a v supportive thread on the miscarriage board for RMC testing.

LadyGoneGaga · 29/10/2013 19:36

So sorry to hear that, Jen.
