I was so that all the paeds and neo natal consultants could be there after completing their 8am handovers and rounds in NICU.... (2 paeds drs, 2 neonatal drs, 2 neonatal nurses, 2 midwives... Full set for each twin). Assume it might be similar for you plus cardiologist?

Oddlife - our dog has been seriously sorry for herself since the twins. DD has been fine but the poor dog feels usurped! She can't complain though, she's still had a walk every single day since they were born.... No mean feat!

To all those worried about induction for going overdue, try not to! I worried with DD and was induced at 40+12. It was overall a fab labour! I was v mobile and she arrived 8/9 hours after the first contraction. Had gas and air only. I did need an episiotomy, but because she had a huge head and I had been pushing for well over three hours, not because of the induction per se.

Feeling v proud of my milk today. H is now 7lb 8 (born 6lb 2) and V is 6lb 4 (5lb 3 at birth and lots of angst re low weight/low blood sugars to begin with - heel pricks plus formula every hour ). They're 3 weeks old. Super milk!!!

Checking in at 37+5. I had a bit of a mad day rushing around between appointments today, but it was really good. I was at a TENS class at the hospital and they sent me home with one since I was next on their hire list. They demonstrated one on our arms and it was so wierd, it went from feeling like something was crawling on my skin to making my fingers twitch.

Mon really hope you got a takeaway and put your feet up afterwards!

Hi ladies, Haven't posted on thread since first trimester/frequent lurker but checked in today- my due date- to catch up! Lovely to see all the new arrivals. Best of luck to MoN for tomorrow.
I was about to put operation evict baby in action but my mum, who is a massive support/frequently looks after DS1, has come down with shingles so can't come near DS1 or new baby until all cleared up due to chicken pox risk. Could be at least another week till it clears up so need to keep legs crossed!

favellio Hope baby Jack is doing O.K. Cant believe that happened what a nasty shock.

Clapham re the DH thing. Quizzed DH about what he should do when I go into labour. He was lying on the settee with his feet up saying as long as your hospital bag is packed everything should be O.K! Totally laid back unlike me whilst I'm fretting that my mother/friend will get here to look after DD probably in the early hours of the morning.

DH did ask me this evening with a smile on his face had I packed my magazines and relaxation music this time? Running joke as last time I packed my hospital bag as if I was going to a health spa for the day. I imagined sitting in a Jacuzzi style pool (aka birthing pool) sipping something nice whilst reading a magazine and listening to my relaxation tape in between contractions whilst the baby made their way merrily down the birth canal - what a shock I got! Cant believe I was so naïve.

Caz Sorry about your horse, so difficult to part with a pet/animal, very emotional, hope you're doing O.K.

legally well done on the super milk!! And no mean feat indeed walking dog everyday. How's the bugaboo donkey working out for you? What are bedtimes for dd like? Is your dh doing most of these or are you getting to do some? Worried a bit about my ds. I know he's a little older than your dd but still worried.

Can I ask a question? My mums friend just told me I shouldn't be driving at this stage? Surely this can't be true? Apparently I'm invalidating my insurance... Panicking now!

Rubbish Nelly. However I'm not driving as my pills make me feel weird, and my pelvis hurts if I brake or go over a bump. Oh, and there's about a centimetre between bump and steering wheel!

Nonsense Nelly. I'm due tomorrow and still driving. The main problem is that the baby hates it.

As long as the seatbelt is under bump and on top of bump then that's fine... (I think)

I'm 39 weeks Nelly and still driving. I need to take my son to tennis every day and my daughter to her pony as well as the school run to 2 different schools. I'd never manage if I couldn't drive.

And legally fantastic weight gain. Ds is being weighed on Friday. Kinda worried as I think he's only getting my foremilk... He's still very sleepy.

Hi ladies, another serial lurker checking in to say hello! I've posted a couple of times in the past but the threads move so fast I didn't keep up :)
I am SC at 39 + 6... Really really hoping to be one of the 5% of women who actually give birth on their due date (but highly doubt it'll happen!). I'm having a sweep on Monday, and like some others I'm desperate to avoid being induced! Currently having loads of Braxton hicks... Could that be a sign that things are progressing?!

Thanks ladies! I know, I thought it was unlikely but sent my head into a spin. Last thing we need is for getting around to be made even more difficult

Just checking in to say MIL is lovely as is Dp's great aunt. Had a takeaway and am currently sipping a small Baileys to calm my nerves.

FFS I just took my BP an hour after both meds (as advised) and it's 150/90. I'll wait an hour and do it again.

Can I just confirm that I should expect my ribs to get a bit smaller after birth and boobs to get bigger then settle down (so hard to predict?). It's time to buy nursing bras I think. So if they're in s/m/l type sizes and I'm between or not sure should I get the size up or down? And would it be smart to just get a few sleep bra type nursing bras for the beginning and then I can get more bra-like ones when I know what my body is like and that I'm definitely continuing to bf? These things are expensive!

Chickie - DH has been away since Saturday and is back next Sunday so I have been doing DD's morning routine, school runs and bedtime on my own... Morning and school runs are fine as long as I feed just before we go and harden my heart a bit to a bit of crying ... . I also get myself showered etc the night before and pack DD's lunch etc the night before. Evening meal and bedtime are.... A feat of one handed engineering! Both twins (as they very much should constantly cluster feed from 5-8pm ish... I normally tandem feed but just have either one attached to me constantly during cooking dinner, eating dinner, bathing DD and her bedtime...

Pinkush - I don't think you can catch chicken pox from shingles. Shingles is an internal reaction to remaining bits of the virus. I don't think it's contagious, although it can be quite nasty.
