Jaysecond · 10/08/2006 14:23

go with your heart Nova. As the signs are all good and nothing 'untoward' has been picked up, i would wait for the 12 week scan, but you have to do whats right for you and your circumstance. Whatever you decide will be the right decision!

dixa, this is my second LO and i am contemplating a HB, buti wont know how the land lies till i get moved to Nottinghm, which by the way, keeps getting put further and further back, its soooooo fraustrating i cant begin to post about it

Laidbackinasia, 95% humidity sounds like a nightmare, i cant cope if the weather gets above 26 degrees here, fingers crossed the stor has cleared it a bit for you!

Piffline, stick to you guns, its your body, your baby, and your decison, go for it!

Jaysecond · 10/08/2006 14:25

lol piffline @the age mistake, i make it all the time... glad i am not on my own. Whens your birthday? I was 35 June 5th

ProfYaffle · 10/08/2006 14:38

Thanks DollyP - he did really well, is back for 2nd interview today and he's the only candidate so finger x'd!

Piffle - about the amnio! I'm 34, will be 35 by the time i give birth, the 'a' word hasn't been mentioned at all and I've been to see an obstetrician (sp??)to discuss a nuchal scan. Sorry but what b*llocks, let's hope your midwife is more sensible than your gp.

novadandypowder · 10/08/2006 14:56

Sorry, looking back on my posts I've been a bit self obsessed .

Prof - Must a bit nerve racking with your OH and the redundancy, but glad things are looking up with the interview. Keeping things crossed for you both.

Piffle - Sounds like you're a lady who can't be pushed around, and with your previous experience sound in a good place to fight for your rights for a HB. And I didn't anyone had to have an amnio, there's not much they can do if you refuse is there!

Asia - Glad the heat has died down here, feel a bit more energised, so can only imagine how wiped out you must feel. Do you like watching the storms, or are they too common to get excited about now?

Jay - thanks for your feedback, I'm in two minds, but with my symptoms being fully blown I'm quietly confident about this pg, so may well wait.

Dixia - a shame you can't have the birth you want, but at least like you say, you have a while to get used to the idea. Also think how we'll all be when you're sat there with bubba whilst we all sweat it out overdue

Pinkranger - glad you're feeling a bit better about your pg, and I hope 'enjoy' is something we're all able to do soon.

Also, a belated welcome to Chitchat

Sorry if I've missed anyone, it's not personal x

Jaysecond · 10/08/2006 15:33

aww nice post nova, not needed as i am sure noone took anything personally, but very thoughtful none the less!

chitchat07 · 10/08/2006 18:20

Hi Nova, thanks for the welcome.

Flippin heck, Piffline, if you are advanced age, with a 3rd pregnancy, what the heck am I????

I'd better get sorted out in my head what I want before I go for my scan, which is set for 31st August or else they're going to try to bully me into all sorts of things.

puzzle · 10/08/2006 18:43

Hi everyone.

Would like to join too.

ME 24
DP 25
DD 19 months.

Due 7th March

How are people coping with morning sickness?
Today is the first day in ages that I've felt relatively normal - actually had a pretty good appetite for once!

dixia · 10/08/2006 19:19

Hello and welcome Puzzle , lovely to have you with us. Lots of us are suffering with MS at the moment. I am on nice turquoise tablets which are helping! There are a few girls that are only checking in now and again due to bad MS. You are not on your own - sick face.

ProfYaffle - very glad about your DP and his interview. Keep us updated as to his status. Hope all goes well for you. Sounds good if he's got opportunities so soon after redundancy - says a lot for him!

dixia · 10/08/2006 19:44

Bit worried about Kittywits as she hasn't posted in over a week and she's usually very active!

Anyone know if she is on holiday? Maybe she is just busy with all her hoardes of kids?

Kittywits, if you are checking in, let us know how you are doing . Its nice to have you around with all your experience.

puzzle · 10/08/2006 20:59

Gosh dixia, you must be feeling rotten if you've been put on medication. Hope it helps.

k1w1 · 10/08/2006 23:02

Hello everyone!
I'm new to this thread and the whole baby thing.
We had been trying for a baby for two years.... had rung and booked in for IUI when I realised I was pregnant as my period never came!
We have both been in shock for the last 4 weeks (I'm 8 weeks today). First visit to OB on Monday.
Very little MS just mild nausea and cramps, although my stomach was larger from the moment I found out.

novadandypowder · 11/08/2006 09:13

Kiwi, that's great news after trying for that long, congratulations. MN is an amazing source of support and info so you're in good hands.

A question for those with bad MS - I went to visit a homeopath yesterday to help with my sickness and my treatment starts tomorrow. She went into my history, relationship with mother, etc and said my sickness stems from a problem with my liver. To cut a long story short, have any of you with bad MS done/do the following:
drink heavily (not in AL anon terms, but you know..)
smoke
take drugs
have anger issues

Don't answer if too personal, but just curious..

dixia · 11/08/2006 10:37

Kiwi, welcome, glad you are with us .

Nova, I'm guessing you mean have we done any of those things in the past, rather than since we have been pg? I have in the past drunk fairly heavily and been an on/off smoker for 10 years. Other than alcohol and ciggies, no other drugs. No anger issues.

I've heard that homeopathy is good for MS - I hope it goes well. Keep us posted.

PifflinePankhurst · 11/08/2006 11:43

Welcome to the new lasses. Kiwi are you a kiwi?
I am too But living in the UK - Had my 1st (ds) in NZ and my dd over here.

Yesterday was my worst day, went off tea, so had thumping withdrawal headache all day, dry retched all day sporadically.
Oddly my best time is immeidately after waking, toast in bed, feel "normal" after that
PANTS.
Today managed tescos, threw up minute came back home.
Power of positive thinking is only think keeping me sane.
I've gone off all my morning sickness remedies
Preggie pops make me sick, as does the morningwell cd - even the seabands have little effect.
Sorry to moan but oooohhh wish time would fly some more...
How's everyoen doing
I'm now 7+5 btw...
roll on to get over 12 weeks and hopefully feel human again

LaidbackinAsia · 11/08/2006 12:12

Hi all - Piffle - sorry I mistook you as new the other day Piffle/Piffline - really should have worked it out !!!Welcome all new to this thread

I too have gone off tea. Don't fancy anything to eat much ( have lost weight - one dress size). Then I have a revelation about something I would really like to eat - always very specific things that I normally can't get hold of . This week it has been:

  1. Salt and vinegar Fish and Chips biscuit/crisp things (remember those)
  2. Apple crumble and custard

Not puking which is a relief - feel for all of those who are. I am 9 weeks today.

Piffle · 11/08/2006 12:22

What I can eat changes from day to day
I ate like a horse for the last 2 weeks now I'm picking at stuff.
Toast and marmite but only white bread - normally never eat white bread
cheese and tomato omelettes infact eggs - poached or boiled or fried.
watermelon
baguettes
baked spuds
crisp apples
weetabix
thats about it...

DollyP · 11/08/2006 12:49

HI girls

Very interesting about the MS Nova. I do drink fairly regularly, but haven't smoked for 7 years and have never done drugs. Don't do anger really, except for estate agents . Red mist descended this am which was a shame.

Feeling a bit better today. Yesteday dreadful, evening ok, managed a cheese and tom pizza, today, not really faced anything apart from hula hoops and tic tacs. I am pretty limited most of the time to white toast, rich tea biscuits, fizzy water and the odd diet coke. I haven't tried the morning well, but have a bag full of preggie pops which make me throw and the seabands I think are just decorative. Wear them all the time and still feel crap.

What are we all up to at the weekend?

Piffle · 11/08/2006 12:52

This weekend I will be mostly
very tired
feeling pukey
and be shocked when Monday arrives and DP has to travel away for a week at work (he has had last fortnight off = godsend) my eldest, ds aged 12 is away til the 18th with his natural father, so I'm on my own with delightful dd aged 3 for 5 days
DS is great when here as he entertains dd and can cook
Gulp...

puzzle · 11/08/2006 14:06

How rubbish - just about everyone seems to be feeling rotten!
Just about all I can eat today is fruit.
Know what people mean about tea, havent been able to stomach a cup since about 5 weeks. Also tried ginger tea which was pretty yuck.
Do any of these remedies for morning sickness really make much difference?

chitchat07 · 11/08/2006 14:09

Not only am I suffering from dreadful MS, but I have also managed to catch a bit of a flu. So am feeling ill as can be from the combination of the two!

Yuck!

dixia · 11/08/2006 14:24

I went off tea at five weeks too. Am managing to eat...
Salmon Philadelphia on crispbread
Fizzy orange
Kiwi

Craving...
Roast Chicken with all the trimmings, gravy and most importantly, Bread Sauce
Fish and Chips

I'm not sure that I could actually eat these things if they came my way.

I am having most trouble with food preparation. I just can't bear the thought of cooking at all, no matter how small.

puzzle · 11/08/2006 14:33

Food prep is a definate no no.
I cant even think about meal planning.
Poor DD is living off sandwiches, veg sticks and dips.
Whilst DP is making good use of the excellent local take away facilities.

ProfYaffle · 11/08/2006 14:38

I'm feeling fine now but have been trying not to go on about it as everyone else seems to be suffering. All I'm really interested in eating though is cheese on toast and chilled peaches. (not together)
