Thanks Pink that's what I said to him, surely it's best to waste an hour to be told there's nothing wrong at a fantastic world leading hospital, rather than worry that the Whitt have missed something. I also told him that if there is a hole in the heart it's very common and so much can be done, if something needs to be done at all.

Haylebop12 · 26/09/2013 20:52

clapham yes she's met him :-) I have pics but as he's tubed/wired up etc I will wait until he's out and post one on fb. She wants to handle him and cuddle etc but its quite difficult ATM.

wicked loads of suppor here. Dh got two weeks off, my mum currently has ALL my washing (about 4 loads) and dd is in school all day so no need to sort child care. We've taken her everyday after school as she can visit anytime.

Oh and he's possibly coming off the oxygen tomorrow...

MrsHoratioNelson · 26/09/2013 20:53

Oh the endless wondering with every twinge is this it?

Clapham what about a Poang from Ikea if you're unsure about the £200 for the JL one? They're so comfortable. Or I bet there would be one round your way available on eBay?

Clapham. I've had the same pains in my lady bits for the last few days. My due date is 1 day behind you.

I had an episode at the midwives earlier and she said it's pressure on the pubic bone caused by the baby moving down. She said he's started descending into the pelvis, but isn't engaged yet so that's what the stabbing pains are.

She said to be careful how I sit/stand and to keep my legs together as it stops him from bumping on my bits so much.

They actually make me giggle as they come on so fast. They felt like electric shocks last night.

I second the Ikea Poang chair by the way. Really comfy with the foot stall. Only works out about £50 cheaper than the JL one though.

claphammama · 26/09/2013 21:03

so sweet hayle, can't wait to see the photos of the two of them together Smile

crosspost with pseudo earlier - don't blame you for being annoyed. I would also prefer to go to the top hospital and would see it only as a positive. Time and inconvenience mean nothing in these situations. And try not to worry - you will know for sure tomorrow in any case. Hope it goes well. xx

thanks for the tip MrsH somehow I've done no research on BF chairs at all... perhaps because I didn't have one last time and didn't really miss it at all.

PseudoBadger · 26/09/2013 21:05

I've had similar pains Clapham, also my pelvis and whole 'labial' area have been generally sore today. I'm not sure how descended this baby is but the sonographer remarked on how far down the head is.

favellio · 26/09/2013 21:07

Get well soon Isaac Envy
Fx for you Umlauf Thanks

I feel a bit uncomfortable tonight. Had a few random stabbing pains in my fanjo, which really took my breath away and baby's feet keep sticking out of my right hand side, like it's trying to do breast stroke out of me! ouch!! No other signs tho Hmm

claphammama · 26/09/2013 21:08

Thanks smitten and pseudo, sounds like it was the baby moving down then. And well put smitten it did feel like electric shocks a bit Smile

moonblues · 26/09/2013 21:08

pseudo sorry you're having such a stressful time. At GOSH they're specialists and will be much more used to and better at looking at echos for babys. I don't think that most DGHs would do it to be honest. Hope it's all ok tomorrow.

Hayle sorry baby Isaac has had such a rough start. Sounds like you're doing great with the expressing. Hope the next few days fly by and he's home before you know it.

moonblues · 26/09/2013 21:13

GT and umlauf hope things go smoothly and don't take too long.

OrangeBlossom2 · 26/09/2013 21:24

Happy birthday anything. Mmm I want some chocolate cake.

Sorry the placenta hasn't moved enough snowgal. You never know, we have had good placenta moving luck on this thread.

pseudo fingers crossed everything is ok.

Wow Caz how have you lost weight?! I have put on 3 stone!

MrsO apparently there are different success rates for the ECV. I think flyer said in her hospital it's 70%ish, some places 30%. Worth asking. And you don't have to say yes to it.

Woah flyer that's very expensive insurance! Ooh I love escape to the country! Although get outraged when people with very ordinary jobs have millions to spend on beautiful houses. Why not us?!

Glad home visit went well Ana. Good news on the paternity pay Nat.

36 week check tomorrow. DH is coming too to discuss birth plan as he is off work anyway. I am hoping baby is engaged. Felt really low and lots of Braxton hicks the last few days.

Feminist that sounds really shoddy.

Hayley sending get well soon thoughts to Isaac.
Ana, our waterproof sheet is from John Lewis and although it feels a bit funny when you put it on it is terry towel like and isn't crinkly plastic or sweaty. Can't feel it at all under sheet. I recommend it.

Umlauf well done on doubling the number of centimetres! I panic about DH being sent away. Sorry to hear you are on your own, especially not being a native speaker. How are you doing now? When can he come back? How is the induction going.

Who had hot hands? I don't have that but have had very hot, hard boobs recently.

legallyblond · 26/09/2013 21:26

Phew - finally marking place. Been v busy here as DH has been away last night and today for a work trip, so I've done bedtimes and school runs alone... A bit of a challenge, esp as the twins are I think having growth spurt, so constantly on the boob...

Hayle - so glad Isaac is doing well, although I imagine its scary to have him all wired up etc. Thinking of you x x

Umlauf - good luck!!! Not long now. Seems a long time since we first "met" on the first Oct thread!

Pseudo - good luck at GOSH. My DH is also bring a total tool tonight (he's just back from London). Can't be bothered to explain but he basically is pissed off that I'm still bleeding so we can't have sex and also cross that I'm tired Hmm. I'm sure he'll apologise, but he's being an idiot...!

ananikifo · 26/09/2013 21:31

legally I'm so sorry DH is being such an idiot. I hope he makes it up to you.

orange we've had a waterproof mattress protector for weeks and we already own more than one set of bedding. He's just freaking out.

PseudoBadger · 26/09/2013 21:32

Bloody hell Legally, hats off to you for doing bedtimes/staying alive!
He sounds like he's definitely being a real arse, I'm sorry. Could you summon the energy to give him a kick in the balls?

Flyer747 · 26/09/2013 21:34

Umlauf glad you are enjoying the epidural, I really hope you progress quicker now and baby b will make his entrance soon.

Pseudo, men! They just don't get it do they. Good luck at GOSH I hope all is well and just a precaution.

Clapham it was threeblondies on deal or no deal. I was in the audience of chavy J Kyle show Shock

Car insurance has come down from £1100 to £589 on compare the market, and I will get my free Meerkat toy for the baby of course I will keep hold of it until it's old enough Grin

OrangeBlossom2 · 26/09/2013 21:38

Oh I see Ana, I think one waterproof sheet is fine!

Goodness me legally! You just had two babies! Hopefully DH just missed you while he was away and will realise he is being a numpty soon. Maybe you look more recovered than you really are. Still in awe of how well you are coping with it all.

Umlauf I had a dream Bertie was actually a girl when she arrived and you were asking us to think of emergency girl names beginning with B!

Flyer747 · 26/09/2013 21:40

Legally I will give DH a virtual slap for you....I hope he comes to his senses and apologises. Thanks

Mnippy · 26/09/2013 21:40

Legally - DH is cross that you can't dtd!?! Wooaah.

Hayle sounds like you're doing hugely well with Isaac and expressing etc. It gives me hope that if my baby gets 'taken away' there might still be things I can do for it!

pseudo - good luck with GOSH, v reassuring the you're going to the best children's hospital in the uk. Let's hope they are being over cautious. My DP, when he gets anxious, can sometimes get a bit accusy and aggressive - maybe it's the same with yours?

claphammama · 26/09/2013 21:46

legally I want to give your DH a massive kick too!! And no idea how you've coped with BFing the twins plus bedtime × 3 on your own etc... wow...

flyer did you ask Jezza for an autograph? Grin

Flyer747 · 26/09/2013 21:48

Oh no Clapham, he's a tit j Kyle Grin but he kept chatting to me, my friend thought he fancied me....Grin Haha...

MrsHoratioNelson · 26/09/2013 21:57

legally I can't believe your DH is cross! Does he not remember from last time? The twins can't be more than 3 weeks old!!

OP posts:
claphammama · 26/09/2013 22:03

I'm sure he did flyer Grin

monkeytree · 26/09/2013 22:05

Hayle Hope baby Isaac is doing O.K it sounds as if you will soon have him home with you

Yes I do go to bed wondering if things could happen sooner than planned (36 weeks tomorrow). A little too soon for baby dd to arrive though so kind of hope she holds on for at least another week. There's no reason for her to come early, I just keep hearing about people having their babies early and it's made me expect that to happen to me (or maybe it's wishful thinking) DD was a couple of days late so expected a similar pattern but I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to it. I think I feel more anxious about the onset of labour i.e the when...... than the actual labour itself but I think that's more about making sure DD is O.K (which I'm sure she will be). Also expecting DD2 to make her appearance at some point in the night/early hours although I did wonder if the darker October days might have an impact (I think more babies are born at night/in the dark) I had leg cramps last night and it brought it all back to me that giving birth is going to hurt.

Yes also had strange pains (very occasional) down in the pelvis area. 7 working days left at work (over two weeks) and work colleagues getting nervous that I might actually give birth at work. My insomnia seems to strike when I have my days off so not had to excuse myself from work yet (hope I haven't jinxed myself now!) So busy at the moment that although I've definitely had enough now and feel utterly uncomfortable the days do seem to roll into each other. Will aim to finish packing hospital bag over the weekend.

Haylebop12 · 26/09/2013 22:08

legally sorry your dh is being an arse. Personally I'd go on strike and he wouldn't get it for a verrrrry long time!

mnippy they're really good in neonatal. When I'm there I get to do nappies, they've taught me how to tube feed him and I get cuddles :-)

To those that have bf before... A question.

I'm now using an electric pump supplied by the hospital. It's fab. I'm doing about 10-15 mins on each side but noticed today my left breast is slightly larger and more tender then the right...( I think my milk has come in but not 100% sure tbh. )Any idea why one boob is bigger? What do I do about it if anything?

Natalieand · 26/09/2013 22:25

My iPhone is seriously winding me up tonight it keeps. Changing words adding deleting words trying to post before I'm ready so I will catch up properly tommorow now

Sending luck and Flowers to all those needing it x
