Rock, we're bump buddies Smile

Babybear, how tragic about your colleague. Poor, poor souls Sad

Right-o. I'm about to embark on my two-hour odyssey to the hospital by bus and on foot Hmm

Rockchick1984 · 19/09/2013 13:23

Grey I had a managed third stage and can't even remember the placenta making its way out... Was too busy having cuddles with DS Grin it certainly didn't hurt and I never saw it!

IceNoSlice · 19/09/2013 13:50

babybear how awful Sad. The same happened to my colleague 3 years ago. Unfortunately since then, his wife had several mcs, the most recent about a month ago. I don't think he knows I'm pg yet. I'm going to let him realise when I start showing so he doesn't have to congratulate me. Such a sad situation for everyone involved. We should all count our blessings.

Grey mine got whipped out with the baby (EMCS).

FrankelInFoal · 19/09/2013 13:50

Babybear I'm so sorry to hear about your colleague's baby. How awful for them Sad

Just got out of my appointment, saw a different midwife who was lovely & more cheery than the last one (she was fine, just a bit dour!). Everything A-Ok with my little avocado - blood and urine results spot on and I got to hear it's little heart thudding away at 141 beats! She found the heartbeat almost straight away and said I have a very cooperative baby Grin

Roll on 15 October and the next scan!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 19/09/2013 13:52

Good luck Prambo!

Wow Grey! What made you decide to go down that route? I watched a program once on all the different things you can do with a placenta. I am so excited about your gender scan. I am living vicariously through you for the next few weeks Wink

To those that have had bambinos, would you recommend delivering the placenta naturally, or having a medical management? Not that I am getting ahead of myself or anything.... Wink

NoMaybeAboutIt · 19/09/2013 13:54

Brilliant news Frankel Grin

MummyBee87 · 19/09/2013 14:24

Final found you all, I had my nuchal scan yesterday and I'm 13+5 due 22nd March. I had thought my feelings would change when i saw the picture etc, but i'm still finding it hard to get excited :( don't get me wrong, this baby is absolutely wanted and has been for the last 5 years or trying, but i don't know, it just doesn't feel real! It feels like i'm watching it happen to someone else and i'm gate-crashing the party :S
Is this just me? :S
x

FoxMulder · 19/09/2013 14:27

Oh no mummybee definitely not just you, definitely doesn't feel real here yet either. Feel too crap to get excited still.

x0gawjus0x · 19/09/2013 14:37

Thanks for asking frank :) me and dp are doing ok, not good not bad! I have told him I am going to prego yoga im fed up of feeling banished from the world. Also thinking of going to a cake decorating class just to get out im only 20 ffs. Havent told my parents yet holding out till 17th oct may be saying youre having a grandson/daughter will lighten the blow than just saying im pregnant!

x0gawjus0x · 19/09/2013 14:40

Just out of curiosity, seeing as me n carl were trying for 3 years well not doing anythin special 'just shagging' i still wonder whether one of us have a fertility issue.. If i had pcos ( my mum foes ) would it of shown on the internal scan of my ovaries when i had emergency scan at 9 weeks? X

FrankelInFoal · 19/09/2013 14:45

I've got PCOS gawjus, hence taking 3 years and medical assistance to get up the duff! The cysts on the ovaries do come and go so it would have been possible to see something at the 9w scan, but also possible that any cysts may have been in regression.

Edamame · 19/09/2013 14:47

Hello Sunshine are you feeling better?

Bee87 I think it's very common and totally understandable to feel like you do at the moment. I was the same til a few days ago.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 19/09/2013 14:48

Great news MummyB! I know exactly what you mean. After IVF, this has taken a while to feel real. It still doesn't sometimes. I think the worrying takes the edge off the excitement. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited, but it does feel like its happening to someone else!

Gawj it may not have shown up at 9 weeks. Do you have any other symptoms that would suggest PCOS?

Edamame · 19/09/2013 14:51

I was looking after the garden of a woman who kept her placenta. She had Feng Shui'd it into the 'love corner' next to the rhododendrons and asked me not to dig there, I was like don't worry, one of your 16 cats will have got there first er, yeah, sure...Hmm

Edamame · 19/09/2013 15:10

Can someone tell me how many weeks I am because I'm confused now:

LMP puts me at 13+6
Dating scan 4 weeks ago puts me at 14+6
Nuchal scan 1 week ago puts me at 13+6 (same place as dating scan, different sonographer)

So I think I am 13+6 or so...

SoSurprised · 19/09/2013 15:12

I have tried to reach my midwife about my dates, waiting for her to get back to me. I am feeling so crap today. Had to come out of work early. Feeling very sick and have vomited once already. Sudden wave out of nowhere.

saggy thinking of you

SoSurprised · 19/09/2013 15:13

Oh and about my dates, I can't use the online thingy as I haven't had a period for 6 months so have to go by the scan dates and times which I think they might have miscalculated

SoSurprised · 19/09/2013 15:21

gawj I have PCOS and the cysts clearly showed up on the scan at 9 weeks

x0gawjus0x · 19/09/2013 15:21

A couple maybe high bp and cholestrol, also have extremely crazy heavy periods no hair growth or weight gain though x

Rockchick1984 · 19/09/2013 15:23

5 days to go until my gender scan... Far too excited now!! Is anyone else getting one, or just waiting til 20 week scan?

FoxMulder · 19/09/2013 15:25

I didn't even know you could do that. How exciting!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 19/09/2013 15:33

I'm getting one Rock! Mines not till 16th October though Sad. Grey is having one next week too.

Did you never have any tests done Gawj?

How strange Edamame. The sonographer being a week out is a bit weird Hmm

Edamame · 19/09/2013 15:38

Sorry you're still sick, So

FrankelInFoal · 19/09/2013 15:41

gawjus there are 2 types of PCOS, I have "skinny PCOS" which means my weight is normal, I'm not massively hairy (I have dark hair so it shows up more anyway!), my main symptoms were teenage-like skin and very irregular periods.

We're not having a gender scan, our anomaly scan is on 15 Oct. we've still not decided if we're finding out the sex!

x0gawjus0x · 19/09/2013 15:42

No ive never had any tests done thats y i wondered if it woulda shown up on the scan

lucky rock times going so slow for me :( 17th oct arghh luckily its 9am..
