poem i get earrings all the time when i have stretched holes in mine and have done for about 8 years haha, they would just fall through!

i used to have a lot of piercings but now just my lip at the side, if you're on the Facebook you've seen the tattoo situation, i am however left with some unfinished because my tattoo guy isn't in the uk. i probably should've drawn the line somewhere haha (I'm kidding i don't care and will be getting more Grin )!

maybe the doppler i have seems to work well - i'll find the link and pop it on here later - its the sonoline b in pink, but they do it in blue too haha xx

mimili · 18/09/2013 16:58

I never ever thought I would say this.. BUT I did a poo!!! Blush
i bought Fybogel but hadnt used it yet - typical!

I have done the big FB annoucement about an hour ago and so 31 likes and counting! haha!

Did I see that someone mentioned going to the babyshow, i'm going to the London one - perhaps feathers in our caps so we can all identify each other is a good idea! Hmm

saggy just wanted to send you best wishes for tomorrow.

rescoonetwothree · 18/09/2013 16:59

also to add on the tattoo front, theyre kinda girly and am quite small so i like to think i can get away with them and the knuckle ones are the most offensive of the bunch - please someone on the fb confirm that i don't look like some sort of motorcycle gang member now I've thought about it Wink

lyra yay you're back!

Prambo · 18/09/2013 16:59

Moosey, your tats are possibly the most amazing artwork I've seen on a woman in a long time. Do you go to LA for them?

LyraSilvertongue · 18/09/2013 17:06

I love your tatts too, Grey. Theyre beautiful.

I went to a baby show when my boys were very small. It was a bit of a waste of time tbh. Won't be going to another one. May be more useful for pregnant women, I think.

rescoonetwothree · 18/09/2013 17:09

prammo & lyra Blush thanks both, I'm glad you like them, i had a funny five just then and i thought, IM GOING TO BE A MOTHER AND I LOOK LIKE THIS?! i have napped a bit so am maybe going insane

he works in sweden now but he used to work in london, had a trip planned before this little sprog came and ruined all that! i actually didnt get tattooed at all in l.a. but did enjoy it there as i felt very normal, i don't think i met anyone there without tattoos!

I'm with you on the spreadsheet mtb help us, before pram tries to do it herself (also falling off the settee laughing)

HotCrossPun · 18/09/2013 17:11

Grey is a babe. The tatts are V well designed.

Nothing like the skee-whiff star I got on my arse in Kavos!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 18/09/2013 17:14

I also think they're beautiful Grey Grin at motorcycle gang member!

Thanks for the Doppler advice. Hurry up pay day!

Brilliant news on the bowel front Mim!!

MummyPig24 · 18/09/2013 17:16

I have no tattoos and not many piercings now. I had 3 holes in my ears but one set closed up and I rarely wear earrings. I had my belly button pierced when I was 16 but that lasted a year, then I had my nose done when I was 17 and adores it, until my ex persuaded me to take it out when I was in labour with ds. I regret taking it out.

sunshinemeg · 18/09/2013 17:18

Evening all.
Can someone point me in the direction of the FB page? Would love to join.
Saggy good luck for tomorrow, thinking of you!
For those interested I've been stuck in bed since yesterday but at least I am now keeping food where it should be, so only one day away from the craziness of work Confused

Jolleigh · 18/09/2013 17:20

SPOILER ALERT - really have to ask people about something on Midwives.

During one of the births, the OH took photographs of the 'business end' when the baby's head was out...what the actual fuck!?! I am absolutely horrified by this...am I just being prissy? I'd murder my other half if that's the point he decided to have a kodak moment! He should be comforting her!

Imeg · 18/09/2013 17:29

I don't watch Midwives but am equally horrified at this idea!

Having husband there at all will be bad enough (haven't actually discussed it but presume he wants to be there) but the camera will be absolutely banned until the baby can pose on its own. And preferably until it's cleaned up a bit (I presume they arrive like every other newborn mammal I've seen i.e. covered in unattractive fluids?).

Jolleigh · 18/09/2013 17:38

Haha, yep. Covered in various fluids. And at the point where the body is still inside yours, likely to be purple!

HotCrossPun · 18/09/2013 17:38

I'm the opposite. I want it all captured! My Dsis is going to be at my home birth for precisely that reason. DP is awful with technology, I know I'd end up with 100 photos where the flash wasn't on or something. So it's DP's job to support me (and fish out any poo from the birthing pool) and it's Dsis job to take loads of photos and make the midwives tea.

I've told DP he should definitely have a look down the business end, because it's the last time my vajay is going to look pretty. Grin

Prambo · 18/09/2013 17:41

Jolls, I actually screamed at the telly. Who the fuck wants to see the baby's head sticking out of your vadge?? It's obscene and grotesque and definitely one for the hippies only. Is there nothing sacred left?

Prambo · 18/09/2013 17:42

...of course I have no problem with th'usband watching baby come out. It's a miracle, after all. But recording it for posterity is just vulgar.

HotCrossPun · 18/09/2013 17:43

I'm not planning on getting the photos out at dinner parties Pram but I want to be able to look back on the birth in all its grizzly detail. Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 18/09/2013 17:43

DH and I were talking about that after watching midwives Joll. I also don't think I'd mind, though I'm planning on a water birth, and getting an underwater camera for the task is taking it a tad far Wink. Luckily, neither of us are in any way squeamish. Well, he is a bit, but I've told him to man up Wink

Glad you're on the mend Sun!

BadlyWrittenPoem · 18/09/2013 17:43

Fox I think probably the advice/support given to people was different when we were babies as breastfeeding rates used to be much lower and it's only more recently that it's been promoted/encouraged lots - I know my mum said she noticed a difference between when I was born (free formula samples galore) and my brothers five years later (when the hospital wouldn't give them unless you were already formula feeding). People breastfeed longer than they used to so have more time to get used to it and try out different positions and also with the internet there is more access to information and parenting forums.

Thanks Abi and maybe, it really is a godsend to have medication that works - I almost cried when the GP agreed to give it to me.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 18/09/2013 17:44

grey that sounds even more silly - I can understand people not noticing absence of any piercing (although you'd think people would check) but I would have thought they'd notice stretched holes!

BadlyWrittenPoem · 18/09/2013 17:48

I'd kind of like to see what it looks like when my own baby is being born but at the time I don't want any faffing about or distractions so I decided against photos.

Jolleigh · 18/09/2013 17:50

Oh good Jesus, another one just did it! Fair play to those of you wanting to capture the moment, but it's definitely not for me! I'm not even squeamish but I just don't want to see that bit...I'll have to get through it and that's enough for me. Smile

sunshinemeg · 18/09/2013 17:50

Pram those last 2 comments from you made me giggle, totally agree!
I was asked if I wanted to be on one born every minute. I'm a teacher, can you imagine the students?

"Miss you were proper yelling when the head was coming out, and I saw EVERYTHING"

LyraSilvertongue · 18/09/2013 17:56

I don't have any desire to see it. I have no photos of either of my boys emerging into the world, partly because it was so traumatic both times. I have photos if them at a few hours old though with bright red cheeks.

LyraSilvertongue · 18/09/2013 17:58

I always feel a bit uncomfortable when people have relatives watching the business end while they're giving birth. I wouldn't want all and sundry gawping at my bits. One woman had her son there. What son wants to see his mum's vadge? I think it's all very weird.
