FoxMulder · 17/09/2013 16:53

I just found out my nearest mothercare is 40 miles away. I am shocked and appalled.

LyraSilvertongue · 17/09/2013 16:53

Bloody hell, it'll take me an hour to catch up on all these posts. Shut up, the lot of you!Grin

Will post properly and comment on stuff later. Had a nice lunch out at the Chinese buffet with DP (who thankfully looks less like the Elephant Man than he did straight after the dental surgery) Grin

See yous later.

HotCrossPun · 17/09/2013 16:58

Do you still have your expired passport? If you still have it then you only need to get one of your photos signed if you look significantly different.

If your passport is lost then you need to get one of your photos signed.

It might not get sent back to you. Some of the examiners stick to the list and don't accept anybody who isn't on it, others are more flexible. The good news is they are normally really quick writing to you if they do want you to get an alternative countersignature.

rescoonetwothree · 17/09/2013 17:25

does anyone recommend any particular brands of reusable nappies etc? ideally the ones that are newborn-potty training?

rescoonetwothree · 17/09/2013 17:27

also i feel a name change coming on

SoSurprised · 17/09/2013 18:09

mimili how r u feeling now? I am getting back pain too now.
Not much of a bump yet but I look like I have gained some weight.

Teddybear4 · 17/09/2013 18:19

Grey - I've used Bumgenius with success but not from birth. I like them and they come in cute colours!

Prambo · 17/09/2013 18:29

I'd like quite a few of you to change your stupid usernames.

Prambo · 17/09/2013 18:30

Foxy, surely everywhere is forty miles away from you?

Jolleigh · 17/09/2013 18:36

Anyone whose user name particularly offends you Pram ? Hmm

rescoonetwothree · 17/09/2013 18:41

teddy i saw those and thought they looked good, are they one size? did you try out a few before getting a 'set'? is there much difference between them? they confuse me so much!

SoSurprised · 17/09/2013 18:46

Saggy hope you get the best news on Thursday.

Rockchick1984 · 17/09/2013 18:54

Grey most of the birth to potty ones are actually far too big on an average newborn, should fit from about 10/11lbs so depends how big your baby is as to when they grow into them. Have a look on TJ's cloth nappies, I think it was there that showed a comparison of the same nappy on a squishy baby and a toddler. They are actually very good and cheap, but would need a decent amount of boosters - I use 1 microfibre and 1 bamboo in each nappy.

Re co-sleepers, I'm tempted by this as its nice and cheap. Ikea hacker looks a good option too! I had no problems breastfeeding lying down and never fell asleep with DS, although woke hugging the pillow on numerous occasions and panicked thinking it was DS Blush Night feeds are so much easier when breastfeeding - once we switched to bottles it was a pain having to get up, prep a bottle, make the feed, all the while with a crying baby. Plus it was always bloody freezing getting up in the night!!!! Determined to breastfeed for longer this time, not least because its easier once you get used to it Grin

OwlinaTree · 17/09/2013 19:00

Hadn't honestly noticed I used donut rather than doughnut Blush. I'm quite happy to use either. When I go to Gregg's at the weekend to purchase said bakery item I will check to see what spelling they use. Watch this space!

I think the nursery sounds lovely JK. Nothing wrong with some time apart. I expect my bump will be full time nursery by 1 year old, so you are already getting loads more mummy time than that!

sunshinemeg · 17/09/2013 19:09

Hi all

Really sorry I haven't read back over the precious posts but need some help.
I've had a really bad stomach bug for the last 24 hours, and without being TMI I'm not keeping any food in me for long. Trying to drink as much as I can but can anyone suggest anything else I should be doing? Doc on phone not great just said see if it continues. But I'm scared for little ninja. Tips please Hmm

Jolleigh · 17/09/2013 19:14

How long have you been like this for sunshine ? I'll swap you for my constipation if you like Wink . Try not to worry too much chuck. x

OwlinaTree · 17/09/2013 19:15

Thinking of you saggy, hope it goes OK on Thursday. Odds are still on your side.

Jolleigh · 17/09/2013 19:15

Sorry - you did say it's been 24 hours. Seriously, don't worry. Would need to be longer to harm the little one. Keep the fluids as high as you can. Is it both ends or just 1?

apprenticemamma · 17/09/2013 19:17

ds is having an exorcist style tantrum in his cot. Because he's tired. I'm tired and tearful Sad Someone help me please

sunshinemeg · 17/09/2013 19:17

Thanks for the reply joll, just 24 hours and the one end, throughout this pregnancy I have felt dreadfully sick but never been sick, (not sure if that's actually any better or not).
Feel a little reassured that little ninja is probably oblivious to all this. Grin

Edamame · 17/09/2013 19:20

Sorry you're sick sunshine. You're doing the right thing in trying to stay hydrated. Can someone get you some electrolyte powders (e.g. dioralyte) which will help your body absorb the fluids and keep potassium/sodium levels balanced? If not, you can use water, sugar & salt but I do not know the ratios, which are quite important.

Don't be worried about the baby - the V&D is your body getting rid of the bug. Wishing you a very speedy recovery Thanks

Edamame · 17/09/2013 19:23

Can you video it and post it on fb apprentice?
Then we could add subtitles and stuff...

sunshinemeg · 17/09/2013 19:25

Edamame thanks, will send hubby out.
Feeling really guilty that clearly bigger stuff is going on than my little worries but I'm not sure what, lots of people wishing saggy best wishes, I can't find the post being referred to but am passing on my positive non ill vibes for you as well x

liberuna · 17/09/2013 19:28

You beat me to it eda
Lots of fluid and electrolyte powders are great. Keep calmsun(easier said than dine I know) but remember to keep calling gp/midwives if you're worried.

apprentice I send you hugs and the inner strength you'll find to get through this. Is there any one you cancall Even if it's just for moral support?
