Ugh Sunshine. That sounds awful. It will pass though and the best thing is to keep hydrated. Baby will be fine.

Grey, I just bought the Bumgenius as they came recommended. I didn't start using them until later (about 4 months) as they were massive before then and also babies poo so much before then that I'd have needed loads. I think I had 6 or 7 and used sposies at night (the thought of a disturbed night due to a leaky nappy was too grim to bear). A few friends used them too. You just boost them with extra fillers to increased absorbency. All that said, DD was not a heavy wetter and I'm not sure they would have worked so well for DS who was.

All good at the midwive. A very fidgety baby with a nice heartbeat. Grin Next appointment at 28 weeks Shock

sunshinemeg · 17/09/2013 19:31

Apprentice the mental image you created made me smile, but big hugs for having to deal with it

Edamame · 17/09/2013 19:32

sunshine - Oral Rehydration
It says to dissolve:
6 level teaspoons sugar (i.e. 30ml)
0.5 level teaspoon salt (i.e. 2.5ml)
in 1 litre water

Lambchop14 · 17/09/2013 19:37

I'm not changing my name as my baby is called lampchop and due in 2014 :p

prambo maybe you should change yours?? Lol

Prambo · 17/09/2013 19:40

Apprentice, I wish I could help you but I don't know what I'm talking about. You poor love, how is the child now? What's up with it? What a stupid question Sad

Jolls, it's the names that read as statements that I struggle with; I can't mess around with them or make 'em rude. There are a few 'Mamas' and 'Mummys', too, which confuzzle me.

Th'usband has just come home all excited from work as an elderly-ish couple today on his rounds showed him a matching set of primrose yellow Moses basket (with stand), blankets and curtains which they had set out for him to view which they are giving us for free. They are almost new (mattress was still in cellophane) and Mamas & Papas and DH said they're beautiful. We are going to pick them up next week when we have a hire car and I will take 'Pat & Ron' some flowers and choccies. How wonderful and how generous! I'm so grateful and th'usband is really excited about this baby now he has seen nursery stuff Smile

Prambo · 17/09/2013 19:44

Ha! Lambchop, I am dying to change my name to Edamame's brilliant SilenceOfThePrams but I fear I am changing it too often Blush

Happyhoppy · 17/09/2013 19:45

Is Abibub still around? She had her scan yesterday like me. Hope everything is OK.

Edamame · 17/09/2013 19:46

Do it. I wanna change mine, it's lame.

Prambo · 17/09/2013 19:49

It is a bit 'cheesy', Edam (badum-tish!)

rescoonetwothree · 17/09/2013 19:52

i like the user name edamame but i hate actual edamame. eurgh makes me heave! horrible little green things!

lumpylumps · 17/09/2013 19:55

Flat coke is also good for settling stomachs and rehydrating.

BakingEating · 17/09/2013 20:02

Really sorry to hear that some of you are having a stressful time, especially saggy, I wish that Cake, Brew and Thanks would make it better.

It's not donuts or doughnuts here, it's Berliners, yum.

Edamame · 17/09/2013 20:03

Oh God, the agony of name choice! We'll have to do this for real in 6 months or so.

Yes yes to flat coke, lumpy. My doctor friend prescribed flat coke and a packet of salty crisps when I had food poisoning at xmas.

P.S. I'm stealing your badum-tish pram
greymoose - is elegant and it suits you

MummyPig24 · 17/09/2013 20:09

Meg I hope you feel better soon. Keep drinking little sips every 5 minutes.

Apprentice I hope your ds fell asleep quickly. Dd was vile at bedtime and was out like a light, despite being "not tired".

Pram people are so generous when you are having a baby, it's lovely to see. My aunt text me to offer me her ds grobags. He is 2.5 and just gone into a bed so doesn't need them anymore. I really appreciated her thinking of us.

Jolleigh · 17/09/2013 20:18

Loving SilenceOfThePrams but always did have a soft spot for PramBamThankYouMam Wink

FrankelInFoal · 17/09/2013 20:25

I've changed names on a regular basis but always include Frankel in some form or other. I use the name because all of last year I kept boring people rigid by talking about the real Frankel Grin

Jolleigh · 17/09/2013 20:26

Syrup of figs didn't work. Fruit and fibre didn't work. Fybogel isn't yet working. Now forcing down fig rolls. God, this is proper grim. Angry

rescoonetwothree · 17/09/2013 20:28

jol go steady, give it about 24-48 hours !

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/09/2013 20:31

Sorry to hear you're poorly Sun staying hydrated is the only important thing. Don't worry about the food yet.

Hope he has calmed down Apprentice

Change it Somewhereovertheprambo

Grey your name reminds me of vodka Wink. I too am researching reusables. I have heard good things about the mio solos. But it's a bloody mine field!! I'm planning on going to some baby shows so I can have a proper look and get some advice and hopefully pick up some freebies

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/09/2013 20:32

Jolls I have a feeling your toilet is going to be abused tomorrow.....

faithfulandtruthful · 17/09/2013 20:35

Apprentice must be something in the air, the two I look after were vile yesterday, I was exhausted when I got home. I hope that your littleun has settled now.

For those looking into reusable nappies I have found the following useful Go Real Impartial advice about real nappies and The Nappy Lady has some useful videos demoing various nappies.

OwlinaTree · 17/09/2013 20:36

Badlywritten most people have been exposed, If you've got other children almost certainly. I was exposed to this in 1st pg, had the test and it was fine. Hope it works out OK.

Jolleigh · 17/09/2013 20:38

I know I should be aiming for a slow build up, but it really hurts Sad And while I'm full of shit everything else, I can't fit food in.

I feel sorry for the work loos...I'm back in the office tomorrow.

Prambo · 17/09/2013 20:43

Jolls, I don't rate fybogel at all. Are we allowed to use lactulose? Give it 24 hrs.

Marbie, I love somewhereovertheprambo! I also adore whambamthankyoupram and pramelamadingdong What other corkers did you come up with on t'other thead, Marbie? I'm savin' 'em all up for when the feminists get me kicked off mumsnet which is the real reason I change names so frequently

Prambo · 17/09/2013 20:44

Foxy, you've got me trawling through ebay for corner sofas now..
