It is good to see you are back, SilenceOfThePrams.

In honour of this thread, I have just eaten a Greggs sausage roll on the bus back from getting my hair cut. I would have got a pie as well but they label the calories on the price sticker (WTF???)

faithfulandtruthful · 17/09/2013 13:56

Fox I have found the following resources for full sized co sleeping cots

Mothercare bedside cot currently out of stock but I have found them 2nd hand on eBay going for around the £100 mark

Turn you crib into a co sleeper You tube video of a lady in America (i think) demoing her bedside arrangements, plus loads of other photos.

And the coolest website ever Ikea Hackers How to turn an ikea SNIGLAR cot into a co sleeper. Maybe one for the Other half !! At £35 if it doesn't work out then no big loss?

Babies get used to where they sleep, I guess you could put a set of cot bumpers in and a canopy over the top to make it more enclosed my friends put a leaf canopy from ikea (£9)over their babies cot as the light shone straight down on the cot.

I am not paid to endorse Ikea BTW just turned into an ikea based post!

Saggy, I am sorry you have this anxiety. I hope it's the happiest news for you on Thursday Thanks

What lovely news about your pup, Comms.

F&T, did you know that the world at large cannot access our Martians facebook group? So anything you post on there is only seen by us girls.

BNMum, your posts always make me chortle.

Sorry about the twatty landlady, Moosey. It wasn't the house for you Smile

Right. I've had enough of the sand-blasting hottie now. The cats are terrified and my nerves are on edge. He's blasting the cracks between Beryl's flags now. I wonder if he'll jet wash my crack?

BadlyWrittenPoem · 17/09/2013 14:00

Feeding the baby at night - my first I used to get up and feed her in a chair but she only needed it for a couple of months before she started sleeping through from the late evening feed. The one year old on the other hand I was feeding multiple times a night until she was almost one but we were co-sleeping so I just fed her in bed lying down which was much easier and less tiring - I don't think I could've coped with all that diturbance if I'd been getting up every time! A while ago I was reading some research about SIDS and the study had found that in some cases parents had fallen asleep with the baby on a chair or sofa by accident because they didn't dare take the baby into bed due to the perceived risks and IMO planned co-sleeping in bed with a sidecar cot is far safer than accidentally falling asleep with the baby in a chair. (I'm not advocating that everyone should cosleep, it's up to the individual to look into the risks and benefits of the options and choose what they are happiest with - I'm just explaining some of my reasoning for what I did.)

Prambo · 17/09/2013 14:01

SilenceOfThePrams!! Fucking genius...

Prambo · 17/09/2013 14:04

BadlyWrittenPoem (can I call you BWP?), you're welcome. In fact, if any of you girls need my poetry genius for your christening invites I would be honoured to oblige. BWP, can you tell me what you think was the reason why one of your babies slept through after the late feed and the other was a multiple feeder throughout the night?

faithfulandtruthful · 17/09/2013 14:05

Raspberry I find in our profession that bosses rarely do think. I find it strangely comforting that I am not the only one however.

Glad to hear your charges are totally excited, one week off, that would be hardcore!! I am awaiting the joy of conveying the news as my boss is also preggers she is just under 2 weeks ahead of me (must have been something in the air). she has not told the kids yet so I think its only right they find out they are having a baby brother or sister before they find out that I will be having an addition as well. This will also mean the end of me caring for the kids, as there is no way I would have four (3 plus my one) the logistics would be hellish! So its another part of the news to break at some stage. I will have been there 2 years in January.

faithfulandtruthful · 17/09/2013 14:09

Yes I do Pram but my current non FB standing leaves my in my safe space... I'm such a wimp! Also goes against my only RW friends on facebook policy, I'm so complicated!

MTBMummy · 17/09/2013 14:09

Complete tangent, but is anyone else really suffering a bad case of the horn?

I'm tired, fat and pukey, but feel like I'd have a go at anything right now Blush

FoxMulder · 17/09/2013 14:14

Once again, F&T you have shown me up with your thoughtful and well researched response Smile. Thanks very much, I will check out your links properly. DH is very confident he could convert a cot, and he is pretty handy. He fitted our new kitchen last year.

Pram I am concerned for Beryl's flags! I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to jet wash flags, it makes the pointing come out. Let us know how he gets on with your crack Grin

faithfulandtruthful · 17/09/2013 14:14

Regarding Sleep I picked up The Baby Sleep System book from a charity shop. It was a good read concise and to the point. Maybe one to read Pram ?

F&T

FoxMulder · 17/09/2013 14:16

Ah but F&T you don't actually have to be friends with any of us cyber weirdos to join the FB group

MTB My sex drive has become entirely unpredictable since getting knocked up. The other day I woke up in the middle of the night for some. That has NEVER happened before (I like sleep).

Prambo · 17/09/2013 14:20

Thanks, F&T, for the book recommendation.

Guess who's wangled another free scan on Thursday? I'll be 16+5 Smile

FoxMulder · 17/09/2013 14:21

How did you manage that? I would love another scan, I want to see it move!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/09/2013 14:26

Prambo! How?!

Saggy I will be thinking of you. Keeping everything crossed that everything is ok x

F&T your boss is totally out of order. And I would make your upset known.

MTB I too am horny as fuck, yet too sick to act on it. I woke up having an orgasm the other night. WTF?

faithfulandtruthful · 17/09/2013 14:27

MTB In my sad and pathetic dreams do I imagine having 'the horn' as you put it sadly it never happens, my poor body has to be cajoled and persuaded to even feel vaguely in the mood. Do you think its catching (she said in hopeful tones)

Fox It interests me too so I get something out of doing too, iyswim. I'm pretty sure if your hubby can fit a kitchen he too with muchly appreciate Ikea hacks (so awesome!) and be totally capable of cot moding. I would love to know what you do in the end. I'm so tempted to try the Ikea thang now.

Poem Thanks for the cosleeping wiseness, what you say makes perfect sense to me. Out of interest what is your plan for the plan for mini Poem, will you go straight for cosleeping ?

F&T

x0gawjus0x · 17/09/2013 14:28

Lucky pram im half tempted to exagerate my symptoms at mw appointment to get me a cheeky scan lol im so paranoid time is going sooo slow! Xx

Prambo · 17/09/2013 14:30

My EPU are berrrrrrrilliant and I'm on first name terms with the sonographer. It was she who told me at the 12 wk scan that she would happily scan me again at 16 wks 'for reassurance'. I don't need reassuring but cannot let the opportunity pass to see my gorgeous babby again. Just fink...I could find out the sex on Thursday if I so wished Wink

Jolleigh · 17/09/2013 14:36

Scan done. 1.8 - is that good? Also, I've somehow lost weight since my booking appointment despite me eating everything in sight and not really suffering much morning sickness Confused The Alien is very active Grin

Jolleigh · 17/09/2013 14:36

I'm now in Tesco on a 'I will poo today' run Wink

FoxMulder · 17/09/2013 14:38

And are you going to?

FoxMulder · 17/09/2013 14:39

Oh yey Jol!

FoxMulder · 17/09/2013 14:39

My previous post was to Pram, I wasn't asking if you're going to poo Jol...

x0gawjus0x · 17/09/2013 14:39

Drink lots of pure orange that makes me poop or a vindaloo Blush

FoxMulder · 17/09/2013 14:40

Walking does it for me. If I go out for a walk, I really need to poo about half way round. That might be sod's law though.
