Also just checking in to see how the monitoring went textbook?

My tummy is sore from where the midwife palpated to find the baby's position today. She wasn't sure and I had to do lots of breathing in and she did lots of hard pressing to find the head. It is still quite tender Sad

textbook · 09/09/2013 19:17

Hi all - thanks for the messages! Everything is fine, obviously baby started kicking the monitor things as soon as I was hooked up Grin She and I have had words. They were so nice despite me feeling like a fraud, and told me to never sit at home worrying when I could come in and feel reassured.

There was a twin mum having her pre-clerking (before c-section) next to me, so I got to listen to her having the steroid jab. It sounded bloody painful, so I'm glad I've got that to look forward to in 2 weeks... It was amazing to hear the two heartbeats though!

OrangeBlossom2 · 09/09/2013 19:41

Glad all is well textbook.

HotSoupDumpling · 09/09/2013 19:46

This is just TOO exciting!! Good luck all the mums-to-be!

(Panna, yup, I live about 30 min walk away from the RLH - maybe I'll see you there!)

HeffalumpTheFlump · 09/09/2013 19:46

Glad you are ok textbook. My baby did the same to me a few weeks ago, it does make you feel rather silly. They thought she must have been mainly kicking into my placenta and so i couldn't feel much, but turned when they put the monitor on!

MrsHoratioNelson · 09/09/2013 20:03

cuillere if ever you want something sending over, I'm happy to trade you for Tessiere Iced Tea syrup and Le Petit Marseillais shower gels :)

We didn't get to France this year - we usually go every year but there didn't seem much point this year Grin. Looking forward to taking the baby for a short hop in the spring. We live quite near a port so it's easy to hop across to Brittany.

MotherOfNations · 09/09/2013 20:03

I can't wait until this baby arrives just so I can get my brain back. I was making shepherds pie tonight and added gravy granules to the pan the potatoes were boiling in instead of to the mince.
I might do it intentionally next time. Beef flavoured potatoes are lovely.

OrangeBlossom2 · 09/09/2013 20:05

I put salsa instead of coulis on ice cream the other day MoN. Not such a successful accident!

MotherOfNations · 09/09/2013 20:09

Last week it was salad dressing over profiteroles in one of those buffet restaurants. I thought it was syrup. Other people were looking at me strangely. Maybe they thought it was a weird pregnancy craving.

Natalieand · 09/09/2013 20:41

I may be able to top baby brain, I just went to pick up a crib I brought off Facebook £30 including all neutral bedding which I thought was a bargain, anyway more to the point- I stopped at tesco express for much needed lemonade and to get cash out the machine and got so engrossed listening to a couple arguing I tried getting in the wrong car :-0 till I finally realised and waffles with my tail between my legs to get in my own car HOW AWKWARD! Lol

pinkbuttons · 09/09/2013 20:44

I tried putting ketchup on DS' icecream tonight instead of strawberry sauce MoN and then cried about it... this baby really needs to not be 2 weeks late, im losing my mind.

and thanks for the warning re:googling mucous plug ladies. why didnt I listen!! on a positive note I think it mightve been that.
Excited for all the baby news tomorrow. good luck ladies! xx

Natalieand · 09/09/2013 21:11

I meant waddled not waffles. One day I will learn to proof read my posts...

claphammama · 09/09/2013 21:11

lots of giggles over your baby brains!

textbook glad all is good. When is your next placenta scan by the way? is there still a chance it can move?

tucking don't give up. Don't let them get away with it. It makes me so angry...

I am so excited about all upcoming baby news!

Haylebop12 · 09/09/2013 21:21

Nelly and falcon, I hope both your labours progress at a comfortable rate. Nelly, may even be having squishy snuggles!?
legally look forward to hearing your news - what times your slot? skull, hope its just a one day induction - how many days are they allowing you for it to kick off?

Badger sorry to hear about your hands :(. How's DS being? Mine has suddenly turned into a demon, it's tough being two.

Pink my DD budy, I'm going to be so Envy if you have your gorgeous bundle before my induction haha. Hope you are comfortable enough to sleep through the BH.

Jelly how are you this evening?

textbook glad all was well.

'Grats fave and flyer on starting ML today.

Those of you worrying about getting bored, not having jobs left to do at the end..seriously clear those jobs out of the way now. The last few weeks take time to sleep, take 20+ min hot baths/showers, read a book start to finish, go for lunch with friends or by yourself, get hair cut, go to the cinema, have romantic dinners and visit that museum/shop that you've kept meaning to. Really make use of this time. I know that sounds patronising, and of course you can do those things again, but you won't have the time, energy or inclination for at least a few months. It was at least 9 months before I read more than a page in a book without falling asleep or being inturupted.

TheFalconsmistress · 09/09/2013 21:59

getting fed up of these irregular contractions feels like my bellys going to burst :( wish they would just get on with it!! FRUSTRATED!!

Natalieand · 09/09/2013 22:03

Do u think u will manage to sleep through the contractions falcon just think not long till you will have your gorgeous baby! We've waited 9 months for this

Dh has put the crib up, its next to my bed and now it looks like a eye-sore in my room. The baby better hurry up and fill it cos I feel like my room looks un-necessarily ugly ! I no it sounds means but u no when u get used to everything how it is then when u add/take away furniture it either looks bare or cluttered lol. Plus swinging cribs look much smaller in a shops showroom as opposed to my little bedroom!

Tarlia · 09/09/2013 22:22

Falcon did they give you any idea if you are dilating and if cervix is favorourable? I do hope so as doesn't sound so fun.

I've got the full sized cot vertical to my bed, nat, so I know what you mean about wanting it filled. We put it up at the same time as our super king bed, so the room changed dramatically, but I bet it'll look bare once he moves into share with DS. However, DS is a light sleeper, so won't be any time soon. Is DD a heavy sleeper?

TheFalconsmistress · 09/09/2013 22:23

No idea they are quite sore I slept through most last night on the ward lost of new born screaming baby cuteness did wake me up bit it has ramped up since then, would love to be in full blown labour at a about 9am tomorrow when Ds is in school that may be me being very optimistic Grin

TheFalconsmistress · 09/09/2013 22:26

They said I am 2 cm and soft over a day ago but still had a bit of shortening to do the plug came away since so I imagine it moved on they did not check me again as they did not want to aggrivate or cause infection? they just sent me home and said come back when your screaming TarliaConfused

MotherOfNations · 09/09/2013 22:29

I don't suppose any of us will get anything done tomorrow. We'll be too busy checking this thread for baby news.

Natalieand · 09/09/2013 22:34

Lol MoN I've got a tab up on safari of the thread and just refresh every ten mins or so just incase.

With a bit of luck we'll all be cooing over a Facebook pic of baby willow this time tommorow :-)

tarlia dd's sleep heaviness varies depending on what time of the night it is but she's alot heavier in sleep that she was 6-8 months ago a that's something. I think we r just going to play it by ear to he honest. I have his main cot up in her room also but for 2 reasons really although he won't sleep in it yet I can put him in it safe from dd's wandering hands if I need a shower etc plus for her to get used to it being around before the baby comes so introducing changes slowly really.

This cold feels like its going to my chest so I'm gunna try and get some broken sleep now for a few hours

Hope your ok falcon well as ok as someone in labour can be xxx

ananikifo · 09/09/2013 22:39

Good luck falcon, nelly, legally, and skull! I'll be thinking of you!
