Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

I've been today and had my hcg levels checked and they have doubled since blood test 2 days ago! I have a scan booked for Fridays still no idea of gestation tho!

impatientlywaiting · 31/08/2013 12:47

Brilliant news Thicklelicker! Very reassuring.

TwoCrazyKids · 31/08/2013 12:52

Great news thicklelicker!!!!!!

thistlelicker · 31/08/2013 13:02

I feel level still low though!! Long long time until Fridays:-(

LongTailedTit · 31/08/2013 13:34

Congratulations impatiently and everyone else on their sticky beans :)

I had brown spotting last time too, so hopefully won't get freaked out by it when it happens again. I've been having more twangs/twitches, which tbh feels like DSs kicks did, like a popping bubble! Must just be stuff moving and making room etc, but it's weird to feel. I felt DSs kicks around 18/20wks last time, but of course I didn't know what they were for a while - hopefully will pick up on them a bit sooner this time.

Allypallyjelly · 31/08/2013 13:40

impatiently congrats on the darker bfp and it is very reassuring to see the lines get darker and pray for a sticky bean too! thanks - that was the worse spotting last week on saturday 4+4 and still bit here and there on 5+2 but ok now..maybe it's just me but have twinges and sharp stitch pain right next to my belly button today, been all morning. Scan is tmrw, will update when i come back.
truffkin - hmm a few hours at the hair salon sounds bliss to me too!
have a good weekend guys - sending positive thoughts to everyone too xxx

Slightly concerned about boob size. Started at 32f before first pregnancy went up to 40f while pregnant then to 32hh while feeding and have stayed that for last year while feeding but they have just started to get bigger again!

Also slightly concerned about weight gain. I put on 4.( stone while pregnant, lost 2 day I have birth, 1.5 more in month after giving birth and a further 2 up till she was six months breastfeeding and cake is a winning diet combination. As now a stone less than pre pregnancy. But really don't want to put on that much again but food is the only thing that stops feeling sick.

ThunderbumsMum · 31/08/2013 21:26

Hello, I'm joining tentatively after my last pregnancy ended in the baby dying when it was 12 weeks 2 days old. I think I am about 4+4 today, so another 8 weeks or so to go until I can relax a bit.

I have 2 dc, have had 2 miscarriages, hoping this one will be lucky...

Luckily my boobs haven't changed much, although they feel a little bit sore. I am starting at 32g so I hope they won't get too massive.

Cupcake11 · 31/08/2013 22:57

Welcome Thunder - sending you lots of best wishes for a healthy pregnancy and baby.

ThunderbumsMum · 31/08/2013 23:13

Thanks, cupcake Smile

thistlelicker · 01/09/2013 06:30

Oh my god I feel so sick this morning

bugoven · 01/09/2013 07:55

Hello Thunder =)

Good luck for your scan today Ally, I've been told I can go for one at EPAU Friday if I explain my concerns to my doc.

Well this morning I have really wound myself up. I did so well felling positive yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed pretending to not be pregnant for a group of close friends which was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I got a little spotting still, which I dismissed telling myself as I have been assured by all my friends and so many online sources that this is perfectly normal during early pregnancy. Then I had a restless night's sleep waiting for FMU so I could do another CBD and it says Pregnant 1-2. So the one seven that I have already done said 2-3. Should I presume all is going wrong or that I have fallen into the 8% that do not get an accurate reading on this one occasion. I don't know if it's relevant but I weed directly on it this morning where as previously I have dipped. Suppose I was feeling lucky.

Honest replies very welcome!! I know really all I have done is contributed to Clear Blue's probably massive profit margins -Hope all you ladies are doing well and not nearly a mad as me!

Cupcake11 · 01/09/2013 08:55

Bug, when did you do the ones that said 2-3 weeks? If it was only a couple of days ago could you have been more hydrated this morning so diluting the hormones? I'm assuming that's why you have to test in the morning.
Thinking of you, try and get some rest today just incase something isn't quite right.

Allypallyjelly · 01/09/2013 08:59

Thanks bugoven. Good luck with yours if you decide to go to the EPAU.
Well re your concerns about CBD. Not sure I'm qualified enough to comment as it's my first pregnancy. But just from my own experience the lines are always darker in the evening for me than those taken in FMU. Have you done this test using same method ie pee midstream or collect in a cup similar as before?

impatientlywaiting · 01/09/2013 09:39

Hi Bugoven, hope you are doing ok. Last month my clearblue said I was 1-2 weeks when I should have been further along. I was distraught and spent the day googling. Unfortunately for me I miscarried, but my spotting only lasted about 12 hours, after that it was bleeding as opposed to spotting. During the course if me googling though there are hundreds of results where people have been in our situation and turned out absolutely fine. I found a whole host of women who were vowing never to use clearblue again due to the heartache and anxiety it had caused them and then their babies were perfectly healthy.

There are many reasons why your HCG might have been lower today, like AllyPally said it might just be today that you are more hydrated.

I would try and go to your EPAU tomorrow, that's what I did in your situation and it was able to give me answers so I could stop incessantly googling and flipping between thinking the worst and hoping for the best.

Fingers crossed your scan will show a healthy looking sac and you can forget all about it.

Thinking about you today Bugoven. You too AllyPally, I hope your scan goes well today.

5+1

bugoven · 01/09/2013 10:02

Thank you so much for your replies - you lot are keeping me sane!

After I left my post this morning I went straight back to sleep and cuddled in with OH. I told him about the 1-2 result but I didn't get upset and am pretty pleased with myself for accepting that it would have been far more sensible to be excited about Tuesday's bfp then be patient rather than repeatedly testing.

There are lots of reasons all could be ok - I did feel very hydrated this morning, it was a long wee and I did it on the stick for the first time since testing rather than dipping. I have not had any heavy bleeding and as impatiently says there are lots of stories about how everything was ok and I have only had brown spotting rather than any significant bleeding for a whole week now. I can only imagine the worry I am experiencing now is minimal compared to how it is going to feel being a mum and it's probably best to get this in order before I become a neurotic parent =)

If the worst happens I have learned a lot and will be all the more prepared for when it happens again. After nearly 2 years of TTC I can only see a conception as a good thing, whatever the outcome.

I get a second HCG result tomorrow and will ask my GP to contact EPAU for a second opinion.

Thanks again guys!

ThunderbumsMum · 01/09/2013 10:22

Hi bugoven. I tested on Friday after drinking 1.5l of water that morning and the test said 1-2 weeks. I tested again yesterday after drinking very little and the test said 2-3 weeks. I had drunk a fair bit that first day ad it definitely made a difference to the result.

Hope all is ok.

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 01/09/2013 10:48

Sorry you are going through this bug. I hope you get a reassuring result tomorrow Flowers.

I have had two incidents of spotting this morning - tiny traces of blood but bright red which by all accounts is not a good sign. Had a dark bfp yesterday and still have symptoms. I'm 5+4 today. Was 5+6 when I miscarried last time. Kind of frozen in horror to think it might be happening again.

Cupcake11 · 01/09/2013 10:54

Oh Jelly, sorry you're going through this too. Fingers crossed tightly for everyone who's experiencing bleeding. I know it doesn't mean a lot but I'll be thinking of you and hoping everything's fine.

Nessalina · 01/09/2013 11:22

Hello ladies,
I've woken up to some spotting this morning which seriously freaked me out, but MN has calmed me down a bit as it's brown, so less worrying, though lots of people saying things have gone fine even with red spotting, so hopefully all will be ok. Feeling your pain bug & jelly Sad
Nevertheless, have rung my EPU and they booked me in for a scan tomorrow, no questions asked, so that's good, I was worried they'd wait til it got worse. I'm 6+4 today, so good chance of seeing a HB if all is as it should be tomorrow. It's all a bit flippin' scary...

bugoven · 01/09/2013 11:53

Thunder thank you so much, my eyes are prickling with tears of relief having read your comment. I am not going to test again but really want to but if I did I'm sure I'd see the same. I was just so desperate to see 3+ and collect the set!
jelly and Nessa, we need to be calm and not stress ourselves out.... so many sources say this can be perfectly normal. Keep us posted and don't fee silly for sharing every detail Xx

Truffkin · 01/09/2013 11:54

Just popping to offer a hand to hold for Bug and Jelly such a worrying time but am keeping my fingers tightly crossed that all is ok with you both xx

LaceyLee · 01/09/2013 12:24

Oh dear ladies there's lots of spotting going on, it's really scary but I think if its not accompanied with pain it should be fine. I've had brown spotting and even a bit of red and got really worried. NHS direct said to keep an eye and if gets worse go to a&e, and inform GP on Monday. Luckily it hasn't got worse, so I'm trying to stay calm, Dh got shouted at last night though poor thing Shock

bugoven · 01/09/2013 12:33

LaceyLee you sound so calm. I really envy you and you are right, it should be fine.

Just felt very reassured by some nausea as I was scrolling through some posts =)

EmJay9 · 01/09/2013 13:17

Hi all been a few days since I checked in so been reading through and catching up. Really sorry to hear so many of you are experiencing spotting, it must be nerve wracking for you all. I'm constantly worrying something is going to go wrong for me and I haven't had any spotting! I know its usually nothing to worry about so fingers crossed for you all that all is fine. I'm still really suffering with insomnia and have resigned myself to the fact that's how its going to be! Slept a lot better on Thursday night but think I'd reached the point of exhaustion as Friday and Saturday back to v disturbed sleep. Going back to the boob question mine have def got bigger, contemplating when to get a new bra but don't want to get one too soon! When have you girls got bigger bras with previous pregnancies? My current worry is that there's something wrong or I'm not pregnant anymore as not having many symptoms! Not seeing midwife until a week tomorrow and then its just for a quick "fit me in" app not a real first app! Why is this happy time soooo worrying for us all. Hope we can all stop worrying soon. 5+5
