Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

Congrats to new BFPers !!
Bugoven - fingers crossed will be ok. I think most pages say brown spotting is sign of old blood so it isn't as worrying but I guess I'm a worrier so I worry about anything no matter how small!
Yeah agree boobs getting bigger but not overly big yet! Defo look like I have put on quite a bit of weight tho!!!

TwoCrazyKids · 30/08/2013 22:13

Have any of you had period cramps?? I'm quite crampy tonight. Nothing extreme but just feels like I'm about to get my af..

Supercalafraga · 30/08/2013 23:09

two I have also had mild cramps for the latest week. Apparently it's normal... Hmm
bug also got the weird skin pigment! Didn't realise that was a symptom!
cake I seem to have had it all on and off but today has been the worst so far. nauseous, tired, so bloated and painful boobs. If that wasn't enough I feel like I'm going to burst into tears every 5 mins Confused

5+5

MacCrackles · 31/08/2013 07:31

two I had the exact same! Had to buy another hpt to double check!!!

TwoCrazyKids · 31/08/2013 07:40

Super, I think the symptoms are supposed to be at their worst from around 5/6 weeks.

By the way, how do I put names in bold?

thistlelicker · 31/08/2013 07:44

I only found out I was pregnant after going to a n e with severe pains In abdomen!!! Nothing since but now having horrid sickly feeling! Belly feels funny!

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 31/08/2013 08:05

TwoCrazy put a * either side of the name to bold it.

I'm sleeping better but feel like I have a tummy bug all the time - so far my glamorous symptoms are nausea and diarrhea (sorry for tmi). Ready salted hula hoops are my on source of relief which is unlikely to be helping with the startling weight gain - I look enormous!

cupcake try not to worry about lack of symptoms - I didn't find out I was pregnant til 7 weeks with my first so I can't have had symptoms like I do now before then.
Also happy to be pregnant so sorry for complaining!

Did another CB digital this morning and got "pregnant 2-3". I think as long as it changes in the next few days I'll be following the normal ranges. thistle this is telling you your level of hcg is between 200 and 2000 or 2-3 weeks since conception. Everyone's levels vary from person to person and in different pregnancies so this is only a guide. Maybe get a dating scan if you think you're further along.

Ally thank you so much for the reassurance. It is frightening and had me in tears again last night. I feel guilty for being negative though and I have so much anecdotal evidence to say this is normal and will most likely be all healthy and wonderful. Mum, OH and best friend have all said the same so from today I am going to make a real effort. Every time I see some spotting I am just going to say "this is normal" then secretly cry so I don't get told off

super it is an amazing white blotchy rash across my chest that appeared a few weeks ago. May be unrelated but too much of a coincidence to me. Also have light brown pigmentation on my forehead, under my nose (looks a bit like a tash - nice) and across my cheeks.

5+1?

bouncysmiley · 31/08/2013 08:15

I just find it facinating how different everything is this time around. I'm getting the cramps too I'm pleaded they're normal I was getting worried! Super sore boobs ate todays symptom. Old nursing bras are out! Has everyone else decided where they are having their babies? I was suprised last time around when I was expected to have made this decision at my first midwives appointment.

bugoven · 31/08/2013 08:18

jelly now wearing one of my mum's bras that no longer fits since she lost 3 stone..... thanks mum. It's an F!!!!!

Cupcake11 · 31/08/2013 09:02

I guess I have got some symptoms. I I have sore boobs, which come and go and scare me every time Hmm I also have tiredness, diarreah and spots.
I guess the thing that worries me is no real nausea and I'm not going to the toilet anymore which seems to be a really common symptom.
Need to chill out!

bugoven · 31/08/2013 09:09

cupcake I sat with a nurse as she talked to me and took my blood for testing yesterday and I rambled like a mad woman. She smiled sweetly and said "this is how everyone feels in early pregnancy, especially with their first". I felt less mad after that

Cupcake11 · 31/08/2013 09:26

Thanks Bug, I am making a real effort to relax and enjoy it rather than stress but then ill read a statistic that freaks me out. I'm not very good with anxiety at the best of times Sad
Still, I'm going to try not to worry unless I have a genuine reason to. Wish me luck!

LaceyLee · 31/08/2013 09:29

I've woken up to find that I had some brown spotting overnight, only a bit but but not nice to see... Hopefully all fine... Definitely starting to look quite fat, I have put on about 4 pounds (only short so this is a fair bitSmile) but some if that is probably bloating and bigger boobs. Not wearing f's yet though!

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 31/08/2013 09:39

Uh...I'm starting out as a 32G - I went up to a J cup last time!

OP posts:
Cupcake11 · 31/08/2013 09:48

Lacey, that must have been scary. Brown blood is better than red though at least. Hopefully it'll just be a bit of old blood.
I started as a 32a and have gone up to a c - don't think I'm ever going to make an f!

Allypallyjelly · 31/08/2013 10:24

Yeah agree that brown is old blood Lacey hopefully all fine.
Boobs a little swollen but not gone up so many sizes as yet! Similar to cupcake but I'm more 30B so will be interesting to see how much that changes.
Anyone else still having this insomnia ?! Maybe it's just me!!!

impatientlywaiting · 31/08/2013 10:42

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is well.

I went to a wedding yesterday and managed to avoid too much attention by bit drinking. Had a glass in my hand most of the time and DH would just drink it.

Today is a good day for me I'm officially the most pregnant I've been. Today I'm 5 weeks pregnant, it was this day in my last pregnancy that I started to bleed. Took a pregnancy test and it was really really dark, as dark as the control line. I think I haven't really believed it until today. I'm just praying this one is a sticky one.

AllyPally how has your spotting been? Is it tomorrow that you have your scan?

Cupcake11 · 31/08/2013 10:52

Congrats impatiently! Sorry meant to say I'm usually 32b, not a if anyone cares about the size of my boobs! Wink

PixieBumbles · 31/08/2013 10:58

I'm starting as a 34H. I dread to think what I'm going to go up to!Confused

TwoCrazyKids · 31/08/2013 11:15

I'm do paranoid this time after mc...I just did yet another test( must be coming up to 10 now!) and thank god it's even darker than the last one I did!

Is everyone this nervous???!!!

bugoven · 31/08/2013 11:36

Two I was so excited when I got my bfp Tuesday but have been absolutely impossible for the last two days. I am so scared and find it hard to accept that the odds are in my favour and I should have a healthy little one in just 8 months (ish). Had a serious word with myself and trying to relax but. yes, I think everyone feels nervous and once we are past this first scary bit we will be happy, healthy mummies-to-be =)

TwoCrazyKids · 31/08/2013 11:44

I know it's awful isn't it bug..but sure every stage brings its worries, I still worry non stop about my boys Confused

Truffkin · 31/08/2013 12:04

Hi all, I've had loads to catch up on as I've not been on this thread for a few days, lovely to see more people joining!

I'm 5 weeks tomorrow I believe and not a solitary symptom so far. I've been trying to think back to last time but I really can't remember, poor DS Grin I have had a little insomnia, which is most unlike me but no boob growth, twinges / cramps or tiredness. My skin is bloody awful though, which I do recall from the first trimester with DS. I have eczema and it flares up with stress, tiredness, bad weather (i.e. bloody everything!) so is quite reactive at the moment. On e the hormones settle down I hope it will be calmer.

I'm having a lovely few hours at the hairdresser this morning, so a great opportunity to catch up. Jumping on the bra size bandwagon (Smile) I'm starting at a 36 HH, 2 cup sizes bigger than pre pregnancy last time so am dreading them growing any more!!

We've decided to go for an early scan and have chosen a place in our town so just need to decide on a date. Last time we were lucky enough to see a heartbeat at 6+1 but I know that's unusually early so might wait until 7 weeks this time. We are still hoping to keep it to ourselves until 12 weeks though, I like having the secret Smile We told our parents and DH's bro & SiL at 6 weeks last time.

I'm seeing the GP on 11th September and am not sure what the deal is re: midwife referral as we lived somewhere else when DS was born. I've started looking at birth options and am thinking home birth maybe. DS was a quick ( 5 hours) and easy labour and birth so I should be a good candidate for home birth if everything goes smoothly this time.

Right, I've waffled on for long enough! Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend :-)
