Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

Oh forgot to add 5+4 today!

Supercalafraga · 13/09/2013 10:58

Hi ladies!

Sorry been so quiet - been manic with work, plus the nausea and exhaustion, typing has even felt like a chore!

Been loving reading all the updates though - sorry to those who haven't been having it easy Flowers.

Keep having an internal battle over going for a private scan or not. The waiting game is killing me!

7+5

moominleigh94 · 13/09/2013 11:13

I really hope a midwife appointment has arrived when I get to the new house today... I want to know exactly how far along I am Grin

Around 7+something

CoventGarden75 · 13/09/2013 12:07

Happy Friday everyone,

A woman was chatting to my pregnant colleague this morning, then turned to me and asked: "so when are you going to have kids?" I just laughed it off, but had she asked me a couple of months earlier I might have just bursted into tears.

She's also just done her first aid course, and wanted to know if I was on any medication! Surely telling I'm on progesterone would be too much of a give away!

ThunderbumsMum · 13/09/2013 12:11

She sounds like a complete nosy bitch

JessicaRRRabbit · 13/09/2013 12:24

Afternoon all - the weekend is nigh Grin

Progesterone might be a slight giveaway yes Covent Wink

Hello and congratulations to Broody and Loopy.

Did anyone else struggle to get out of bed this morning? I packed in 10 hours' sleep last night and could easily have gone for a long lie in too!

5+6 today - almost halfway to scan time!

JessicaRRRabbit · 13/09/2013 12:29

Ooh Thunder I read it as a bit-of-a-know-all-but concerned friend. If the attention's unwanted I agree she's too nosy and should MHOFB Covent.

YikesHereWeGo · 13/09/2013 13:08

Hello everyone and a warm welcome to broody & loopy!
It's my last day of my week off work, which I've been enjoying rather too much. Lie-ins every day, such bliss. Not sure how I'll cope back at work next week Hmm
6weeks today; can't get my head around how the scan dates putting me 3 days behind where I thought I was means I'm ONLY 6 weeks when I should clearly be 6 months Wink
Hope you've all got nice plans for the weekend.

CoventGarden75 · 13/09/2013 13:13

LOL let's say young and inexperienced. She'll learn NEVER to ask the kid question. No harm done this time though. 7+3 Smile

And yes Jess, very hard to get up this morning.

CoventGarden75 · 13/09/2013 13:14

Oh-oh. My posts don't show yet, sorry for the duplicates to come.

CoffeeGuzzler · 13/09/2013 13:23

Hello everyone Smile. May I join you please?

Found out this morning that I am up the duff. Can't quite believe it still. Seems unreal.

Pg with #1 due 23 May accd to nhs website.

Lollywig · 13/09/2013 13:25

Hello again.

Feeling a bit less crazy and cry-y now, thank god! Got my head down, did some work and now just enjoying a spot of lunch. In a way I'm glad to have another symptom! I would even welcome a bit of nausea right now, just so that I 'feel' a bit more up the duff.

I may live to regret that last sentence....

I have also had a word with myself to the tune of - try to be more positive, enjoy these early stages, and ultimately - what will be, will be. Scary but true.

Happy Friday all xx

CoffeeGuzzler · 13/09/2013 13:26

Waving to Snoozy, Hendricks and Mrsmummy from the manic September bus!! Grin

AliOh · 13/09/2013 13:30

Welcome coffee and congrats!

Yes don't speak too soon lolly been saying that the last few days and now sickeness hit me like a ton of bricks!!!!

One way to start me off today - a baby massage course starting in the centre where I work! I'm too emotional because all the babies are around 8 weeks and too beautiful!

thistlelicker · 13/09/2013 14:21

I had a scan today because of the bleeding! Baby thistle good strong heartbeat!! :-)

JessicaRRRabbit · 13/09/2013 14:23

Hi Coffee and congratulations Thanks

Here's a Friday poser for you all: what meals do you make when you're not feeling sick but not really fancying anything because it would make you feel sick iyswim?

I'm doing slow cooked chicken and noodles tonight and had soup and chippy chips last night but I'm running short on ideas and will go mad if I have to have cereal for tea again Hmm

JessicaRRRabbit · 13/09/2013 14:25

Great news Thistle Grin Thanks Grin Thanks Grin Thanks

AliOh · 13/09/2013 14:40

Great news thistle !!!

thistlelicker · 13/09/2013 14:51

Thank you!!! Long long way to go! So we are 6+0 !!!

LongTailedTit · 13/09/2013 14:53

Yay thistle! Brilliant news! :)

LongTailedTit · 13/09/2013 14:54

JessicaRRR - something crunchy! I'd go for something salady. Can't eat soft foods well right now, make me feel even sicker, crunchy stuff does better.
Caesar salad?

Lollywig · 13/09/2013 14:59

Thistle - bloody brilliant news! You must be delighted. V happy for you.

AliOh... I know... This is quite creepy but about 10 mins after my last post I started to feel a bit queasy. Must be psycho-somatic or just plain weird but the tea I was drinking tasted nasty and still have a pretty gross taste in my mouth and feeling a bit delicate all of a sudden. Nice!

Jessica - no real suggestions as all I eat when off my food is toast. Or perhaps something simple like beans (on toast!). Hope you enjoy your meal tonight anyway.

loopylou52 · 13/09/2013 15:37

Congrats on the scan Thistle! Grin We've got a private one booked for when I'll be 8 weeks - still feels like an age away!

Re meals, I'm not sure what to suggest. I couldn't think what I fancied for lunch yesterday and ended up with a mini frozen pizza which was perfect! I'm a bit worried about all the cheese I'm eating at the moment but I guess the protein and calcium have got to be good for baby, right? Otherwise I'd say things like chicken/fish with chips or, if you fancy something healthier and can cope with salad, maybe have a jacket potato or nice bread with it for a bit of stodge to help settle your stomach?

Hendricks · 13/09/2013 16:06

Fantastic news thistle and great to hear your parents seem to have got over the initial shock/surprise moomin

Hi coffee, lovely to see you over here - I hope you're the start of an influx from the September bus.

I think with first trimester foods it's just a case of getting down what you can. I do currently seem to be managing a decent size meal at lunchtime so for now my main/large meal is at lunchtime and it's whatever I can get down for breakfast and tea. Which is currently not much more than some small bits of toast.

Hendricks · 13/09/2013 16:08
