Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

Hurray congratulations Yikes.

Wow that's lots of chances to see the baby. Are they with an EPU or are you going private?

Hello ladies and thank you for the welcome. So sorry to hear some of the ladies have had problems :-(. Huge love and hugs to them xx

Lolly I'm not nervous so much of the thought of four, its more the pregnancy. I am just nervous that it will not happen!! Does that make sense!! :-/
I never thought about possible loss with previous three but know lots of ladies who have had problems!! Scares me!!
I think I'm due about 16th may :-) xx

ACatCalledBrian · 12/09/2013 12:57

7 weeks today!

Nausea's getting to a stage where I'd really rather just puke already. I keep feeling awful and retching and I reckon if I actually could just vomit it'd make it go away for at least an hour or so (TMI, sorry). Other than that my symptoms seem to have decreased recently - my boobs have even slightly deflated. Is that normal?

That's lovely about the heartbeat yikes, hopefully third time lucky for you!

CoventGarden75 · 12/09/2013 13:00

Welcome all new BFP'ers.

Yikes, that must have been such an amazing moment. Congrats.

The wait is killing me, wish I could go swimming to help me relax a bit. I am also considering telling work. It feels like telling now could avoid an awkward position later, but I don't want to compromise myself in case something goes wrong between now 7+2 and 12. Difficult choice.

hamncheese · 12/09/2013 13:09

Sorry to have been MIA. Busy with my PhD and... Oh yes... Being in morning sickness hell again.

I don't think its fair to be basically bed ridden for three months and still sick for another two last time around, and then for it to be happening again this time. Its actually one of the main reasons we aren't having anymore after this one, I'm so crap at being pregnant.

Is anyone else having awful all day long ms? Anyone having to look after a very lively LO at the same time? I hate that I'm going to have to wish away the first few months again :(

Sorry to read of hard times. Will try and be more on the ball now.

Chip86 · 12/09/2013 13:09

Oh no Brain i hope u feeling better soon

YikesHereWeGo · 12/09/2013 13:18

Thanks all, yes it was lovely! I keep singing little songs of happiness, think DH is getting a bit annoyed! Blush Today's scan and the 9 & 12 week scans are on NHS coz of issues with previous pregnancies, but I'm also having 10 & 12 week scans privately when I go for the Harmony test. So 2 x 12 week scans! I know it sounds ridiculous to have so many scans, and I know the extra scans don't increase my chances of a happy outcome (-had lots of 'good' scans in both my previous pg's) but at least it should make the weeks go by more quickly and I'll get to see the little one lots. Just had a long conversation with DH about what we would accept as being a 'good' nuchal/combined result, which feels like a major step as previously he wouldn't talk about it.

thistlelicker · 12/09/2013 13:49

I got home from hospital this morning but still having a bleed! Hcg repeating tomorrow !!!! Feeling very down

CoventGarden75 · 12/09/2013 14:02

Big hug Thistle

impatientlywaiting · 12/09/2013 14:06

Ah sorry Thistle. Must be very disconcerting. At least you know your HCG was at a good level yesterday.

Although really off putting bleeds are quite often absolutely fine. When I was on the March thread (pre MC) one person on that thread bled everyday for a fortnight, she'd been checked out and was fine. But found the bleeding really distressing.

At least you are being monitored. Fingers crossed for a good HCG increase so you don't need to worry anymore.

AliOh · 12/09/2013 14:08

Big hugs to you thistle, must be so distressing :( fx for your hcg results 2moro x

MrsRadders82 · 12/09/2013 14:21

Hugs Thistle. I hope all ok xxx

moominleigh94 · 12/09/2013 14:31

Big hugs thistle

Something tells me my mum is really starting to warm to the idea... she greeted me at the door with "Hello chunky, how are you and my grandchild?" Hmm not sure whether to laugh or be insulted Grin

AliOh · 12/09/2013 14:35

Aww :) lovely that she is coming round to the idea moomin didn't take her long!! :)

moominleigh94 · 12/09/2013 14:44

I know :) I was surprised really. Not sure my dad's going to come round to it any time soon though.

AliOh · 12/09/2013 15:05

You never know! Once he sees your mum coming round he might well start to too!

thistlelicker · 12/09/2013 15:33

Thanks everyone xxx

Choppa · 12/09/2013 16:26

Hi everyone...I have been AWOL these last few days. It seems there has been lots going on.
impatientlythanks for the spreadsheet...immense! Although after adding my age I realised I had got my age completely wrong...I must be so old and so preggers that I don't even know who I am :) I had also been going back and forth in my head as to whether to book a private scan but I went for it and have an appt on 4th Oct when I will be 8 weeks. I also have suffered MC in the past and early scans for reassurance really helped when I was preg with my son....seeing that little heart beat for the first time is incredible. Especially when you have been there before and the pregnancy is not viable.

Sorry to hear there are ladies having problems...I know how devastating it is...big hugs and is you need any specific advice you can always message me. Big hugs xxxx

moomin i'm glad that things are looking up with your mum...it sounds like a very stressful few weeks for you.

I am feeling less sick now. I think it was a migraine thing last week rather than morning sickness as such. Boobs are def bigger but otherwise little going on really. I had no symptoms really when I was pg with DC1.

Love to all
Choppa
4+5

moominleigh94 · 12/09/2013 16:49

Just had the loveliest message off my Dad, saying how he'll always love me and support me no matter what happens :) it's early days with OH but I'm hoping by the time baby comes, they'll be able to put their differences
aside for the sake of me and it. Hmm I live in hope! But baby steps Grin

Hope everyone's doing ok today :)

LongTailedTit · 12/09/2013 17:22

hamncheese yup, a 2yo here and constant all day nausea too! Not actually been so bad today, more like ravenous hunger but unable to eat, if that makes sense.

I saw the doc today, low blood pressure which is why I've been so dizzy, plus with the combo of slight bleeding and the pains I've been having, she booked me in for a scan at the EPU next Tuesday.
I'm not very worried, more like background concern IYKWIM, but the doc felt it warranted a scan, so there we are. The internal didn't cause me any pain at all which bodes very well.

Lollywig · 12/09/2013 19:45

Evening all and hi to the new gals.

Can anyone tell me how to go about getting a private scan please? I too would like one at about 8 wks if poss. And what's the going rate? I am Up North (near Manc), not sure if that will make any difference. I am seeing the midwife for the first time one week today! I suppose she will be able to point me in the right direction but just curious.

5 + 3 today. Time really drags when you're pregnant, right?

xx

thistlelicker · 12/09/2013 19:49

My sister had a private scan in stretford I think it was
About 70quid

moominleigh94 · 12/09/2013 19:57

Getting the keys to new place tomorrow :D know we're going to have to move a few months down the line... going on the council list or finding a family-friendly landlord... but it'll be nice anyway :)

And hopefully I'll have a letter from the midwife waiting for me... here's hoping!

Anyone got any tips for explaining why they're not drinking? I'm still taking part in freshers week, I'll just be laughing at the drunk people rather than being one. Last year I was a bit of a party girl, got drunk a lot with hilarious and humiliating consequences, so everyone will be expecting the same this year... how do I turn down a drink without everyone guessing, or do I just hope everyone's so hammered they don't remember? Grin god I've just realised how awful this sounds Hmm
