Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

OP posts:

moominleigh94 · 09/09/2013 19:22

Fx, Thanks and Cake Viking, look after yourself xx

VikingVagine · 09/09/2013 19:35

On the plus side I haven't had any nausea!

McBaby · 09/09/2013 19:57

Saw a little heart beat today. Between 6-7 weeks so due at end April. Sonographer was very miserable so hard to get her to be more specific. It was through my tummy so difficult fir her to get a picture.

But now I have a rough idea I feel happier roll on 12 week scan in 5ish weeks.

Halfbaked · 09/09/2013 20:04

Fingers crossed viking

I'm so tired, full day at work and I can barely move. I was meant to be going to slimming world tonight, but I'm just going to miss it..again! Although I've probably put on a bit with all the crackers I've been chomping on. I put on loads of weight with my DD and lost 4 stone last year, I'm determined not to put it all on again.

covent garden I'll be 38 when this one pops out too,I think we get more midwife appointments as we'll be classed geriatric mothers!!!

Lollywig · 09/09/2013 20:36

Lovely news McBaby! Shame about the sonographer but hey.

Halfbaked your weight loss sounds phenomenal, well done. I am dreading the weight gain thing. Only 5 weeks and already my stomach is swollen, what's that about! DH was looking lovingly at it last night, sweet maybe but I had to remind him it's certainly not baby at this stage. I really hope I don't blow up like a balloon or expand everywhere! Just one of those nice neat bumps at the front please....

moominleigh94 · 09/09/2013 20:46

I'm hoping the weight stays off for as long as possible... or just looks like I've eaten too much rather than a bump, try and keep it hidden from classmates as long as possible Hmm

I still have no idea about midwife appointments or scans or anything... hmph Hmm Grin

AliOh · 09/09/2013 21:02

Fx crossed for you Viking hope everything works out ok.

Mcbaby, that must of been so exciting! Can't wait to hear my baby's heartbeat :)

My symptoms have totally disappeared however I'm not too worried, after to speaking to everyone I know that's ever been pregnant they've said that your body gets used to some of the symptoms in the early weeks and then they come back gradually, for those of you who are due end of April/early may did any of you experience this around 5 weeks??

CoventGarden75 · 09/09/2013 21:07

Lollywig - Maybe it's your body adjusting to the changes. But I know how you feel. Last week, none of my clothes fitted, swelling everywhere, and of course banned from exercise since beginning of August. And this week (7), it's fine, all seems back to normal (well nearly).

Halfbaked - do you think the tiredness is an age thing? I sleep like never before, and all I want is sleep some more. Talking of, it's bedtime.

moominleigh94 · 09/09/2013 21:29

AliOh I had no symptoms other than a little bit of nausea (put down to a UTI) until six weeks when I decided to test, and now that I'm at 7 weeks, they're dying down and it's only the nausea that's affecting me noticably (and the odd headache). I think it probably varies for everyone but from what I've read it's fairly normal :)

ThePFJ · 09/09/2013 21:41

Lolliwig You could do a pg test a week, but if you had mc'd you would still come up positive usually. It's weeks before your hormones drop to normal..... but here is the thing... believe ME you know a miscarriage when you see one. Can I crown myself mc queen here just temporarily (I have had 7 and 1 ectopic pg and lost a fallopian tube)? And as temporary Queen I can tell you you would have A LOT of bleeding if you miscarried. Anything that's not spotting or dark you need to call your gp surgery asap. Plus watch out for rising intense pain.. like period pain but worsening and shoulder tip pain for an ectopic. Ectopics occur around week 8, as the egg stuck in your fallopian tube gets too big....

To be honest... I have a big pack of cheap pg tests from amazon, they are like dip stick tests... and I have fancied doing one a day just for the reassurance that this is REAL after 2 years of ttc!!

I promise baby - we are calling ours little pea - because that's about the size - is still there Grin

After tests at the hospital my 75mg of aspirin should keep this long awaited pg in the oven Wink but everyone please send me sticky bean vibes!! Things feel tight down there today... my muscles are still going mad, and my boobs hurt like . Poking my boobs is a favourite way to check I am still pg!

xxxxx kisses xxxxx

LongTailedTit · 09/09/2013 21:44

Evening all, on the topic of symptoms, I threw up in Waterstones today... Envy

LongTailedTit · 09/09/2013 21:47

Oh bog, keep forgetting to add my weeks!

6+5

ThePFJ · 09/09/2013 21:54

Sympathy Long at least you kept it 'in' ...... same with me last pg with DS.... but my other pg's half of them I was like a sprinkler Confused....

Lollywig · 09/09/2013 22:03

PFJ sorry for my slightly dyslexic moment earlier when I gave you a G instead of a J! Sending lots of positive stuff your way, sounds like you have been through hell on earth...

I am a bit confused though - is there bleeding with a missed miscarriage? I now totally up for having a private scan in a few more weeks as we are going to Spain for a week at around week 10 so would like a bit of peace of mind before we go. I'll ask the midwife how I sort one out.

wm3010 · 09/09/2013 22:11

Hi ladies, rough day at work for me. I'd heard constipation was a symptom of pg, however I have the opposite issue - sorry if tmi! Spent nearly all morning in the ladies', not my most productive day and now feel pretty wiped out. Keeping fingers crossed it's just my body adapting but I didn't expect to feel so rough so early. Hope you are all coping ok with the various trials and tribulations, I am really jealous of those of you getting successful scans already. Viking, hope it works out for you.

5+4

moominleigh94 · 09/09/2013 22:12

Plenty of sticky bean vibes heading your way ThePFJ

OH has already named this one Squirtle Hmm

CityGal29 · 09/09/2013 22:14

Hey has anyone got any reflux solutions! Not ginger as hate it! Omg it's so bad. Had 2 omezoprazerole today and still burping mon stop and almost being sick all te time.

I've got thyroid problem but only had levels checked last week so don't think it's that making it worse. Tries rennie and gaviacon and neither work Hmm

6+4 today

moominleigh94 · 09/09/2013 22:15

Oh and 7+0 (I think, still not entirely certain...)... keep forgetting to put weeks Grin

VikingVagine · 10/09/2013 06:56

Despite having had two DCs and being pregnant a whopping 7 times,I still don't know how to count the weeks, is it from presumed date of conception, or from first day of last periods?

For sickness was going to say ginger ale with extra ginger slices infused in it, but if you don't like ginger,it probably won't help, sorry!

wm3010 · 10/09/2013 07:30

Viking, it's the first day of the last period according to my midwife. Confusing but I suppose it's a date most people will know.

Sparkles23 · 10/09/2013 08:30

Hi everyone, can I please join? I am 5+6, due 7 May according to dates. No symptoms so far apart from sore boobs and a bit tired! I am currently eating as much as I can as I suspect in about a weeks time the sickness and extreme tiredness will kick in! This is my second pregnancy (have a DS who is 3) and last time suffered horrendous sickness that didn't ease until 20 weeks, and I lost a lot of weight- keeping fingers crossed that I don't get it too bad this time-though at the same time found it reassuring!

Hope everyone is ok!

Talking of symptoms, I don't have morning sickness (yet?). 7+0 . But I've got pain in my left bum cheek, it's been at least a week now.
Good luck and good sticky vibes to all of you.

moominleigh94 · 10/09/2013 09:42

Welcome Sparkles :)

Good news and progress being made; spoken to my parents this morning and we discussed keeping it without any angriness or "you definitely can't do it" Grin

CoventGarden75 · 10/09/2013 09:45
