Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

OP posts:

thistlelicker · 10/09/2013 11:05

Lovely news moomin!!!

YikesHereWeGo · 10/09/2013 11:51

Sounds v promising, moomin!
Missed mc's don't have the same 'symptoms' as natural mc's, as obviously the baby stays put. That's why they often come as such a shock at 12 wk scans etc. But you would expect pg symptoms to reduce over time, e.g. Tingly boobs etc.
6 weeks today for me - hurrah. 'Only' 6 to go!!

moominleigh94 · 10/09/2013 11:56

That's why I want to get to 12 weeks as soon as possible... symptoms have died down a bit so I'm slightly concerned.

AliOh · 10/09/2013 12:06

Aww great news moomin :) so pleased for you. My first day back at work today after the weekend and already falling asleep! Thought I was getting used to the tiredness but I guess you just don't feel it as much when you're at home!

ACatCalledBrian · 10/09/2013 12:19

That's awesome moomin, hopefully they'll stay fairly positive! My symptoms died down for a bit a few days ago but they're back with a vengeance now so I wouldn't worry too much!

6+5 today. Told my boss because I'm due at our busiest time of year and my role is basically to oversee the whole of that, so we'll need to start fairly early in finding people to take over and be trained up on stuff I normally do. That and I'm not totally sure I'll be able to avoid vomiting at work for much longer.

Hendricks · 10/09/2013 12:29

That's lovely news moomin

Not feeling properly nauseous, just a bit queasy and really can't be arsed to eat anything nutritious Bit bloated and my boobs seem to have filled in a bit, but so far so good. I have good days for tiredness when I don't wake up knackered, then days like today when I just want to sleep. Hopefully I'll be okay for run club tomorrow night - I got sent out with the fast ones last week - knackered is not the word!

Not really doing anything other than online browsing of maternity clothes at the moment. Midwife appointments are only on a Tuesday afternoon here, so I think I'll wait a couple of weeks before trying to book in with her.

Hope everyone's doing okay

4+4

ACatCalledBrian · 10/09/2013 12:35

Hendricks, I'd try to book in as early as you can! I went at just over 4 weeks to book in and the earliest appointment I could have was 7th october, so I'll be 10+4 before I even get a booking in appointment. Your area might not be as full up as mine though, but I wish I'd been able to get an earlier appointment!

Chip86 · 10/09/2013 13:37

Chip86 · 10/09/2013 13:40

Forgot im 4+7 today Smile

mrsmummytobe · 10/09/2013 13:52

I'm 5 + 2 today & already I can't do up my trousers! I'm feeling really achy. Work is making me really stressed & even more so because I can't tell anyone I'm pg yet. Really feel like I need to relax :(

Nessalina · 10/09/2013 15:43

Great news moomin Smile Really please they're coming round!
Had my booking in today, not very exciting, though am officially overweight (BMI 31) which isn't a big shock.
Our kitchen is being revamped and currently looks like a gigantic mess, it is SO stressful!!!

CityGal29 · 10/09/2013 15:45

Yea same round here earliest they book you is 12wks. So much for the stop smoking, healthy eating, see if high risk advice!!Hmm

CoventGarden75 · 10/09/2013 16:00

Congrats Chip and welcome.
MrsMummy I share your pain not being able to tell. I'm currently organising interviews to cover the maternity leave of my colleague due in Jan! So I've got an hidden agenda, hoping to find someone who could cover for me too (we're a small team of 2). And nobody knows that I'm expecting too.

Jammybean · 10/09/2013 16:06

Really glad everything is working out moomin.

Feeling pretty tired today, not many symptoms, reassuring that I'm not the only one. I had a couple of hrs of retching after spraying some anti moth stuff into my wardrobe. Urghh. I think I'd rather actually be sick. I guess I not be doing that again Hmm

Is anyone pregnant with their second? Dd was being especially annoying sweet this morning. She was up demanding breakfast at 5.45 by sticking her fingers up my nostrils then giggling. I dread to think how I'll keep her entertained when I'm as big as a whale!

moominleigh94 · 10/09/2013 16:31

Thanks everyone :) I'm so glad things are starting to go well. My head's starting to straighten out a bit and I've got a solid idea of what I want to do and the support people will give me.

So, all being well, we'll be having a baby end of April/start of May Grin I'm holding out hope for start of May, not sure OH's sister would forgive us if we had a baby on her birthday Grin

mrsmummytobe · 10/09/2013 16:48

It's so hard isn't it coventgarden! Good idea though to get ahead of the game with maternity cover. I just feel like people are putting too much on me & I'm used to dealing with certain other people's stresses & demands at work but now I'm pg I'm actually far more concerned about my own health! The next 6 weeks are going to go very slowly I think!

Chip86 · 10/09/2013 17:15

Hi coventgarden thanks
Glad its all falling in to place moomin

CoventGarden75 · 10/09/2013 18:22

mrsmummy take care of yourself, as you said, the most important things right now are you & mini you. Don't let other people stress you out.
I've politely declined, but I've been asked at work if I could cope on my own while my colleague is off. I can't wait to tell them the news but time is so slow. Still 7+0, it hasn't changed ALL day.

LongTailedTit · 10/09/2013 19:34

Yay moomin! :)

I got my call from the midwife today, booking is arranged for the 24th Sept, so not too long to wait.

Quick question for y'all re blood (sorry): how much is ignorable?
I'm not worried, but have noticed tiny tiny amounts when I wipe the last couple of days, a few thin threads of red blood, and a small pink tinged amount. Really minuscule tho, so I was assuming it was all this twinging and hormones that produced it.
I'd be straight on to the doc if it was anywhere near period-time amounts, but these are such tiny dots/threads I assumed its ignorable?

mrsmummytobe · 10/09/2013 19:38

Thanks coventgarden, you too! :) You're a bit further along than me, I'm only 5+2! It seems to be going so slowly... I can't wait til we've had our 12 week scans & can finally break the news to everyone!

bouncysmiley · 10/09/2013 20:29

Longtailed snap. My 'spotting' is not every day, and is also miniscule but I am nervously keeping an eye on it. I have my 1st MW's appointment on Friday so I'm mentioning it then. I'm pretty sure this small amount is fine, but i do put my feet up and rest up whenever it happens just to be on the safe side! Call the Doc if it gets where you feel you need to use a pad/ if you have accompanying severe pains/ dizziness and nausea. Good luck!

Really pleased Moomin - glad you are feeling like you can enjoy it now!

My nausea is really kicking in now. It was touch and go whether I stayed in work today. If I hadn't have had to drive home I'd have given in. I just sat at my desk sipping water and feeling like poo. Mine isn't strong enough to actually throw up, just consistently feeling like i want to....Oh and tea and coffee (even the decaff stuff) now makes me want to heave. Roll on 12 weeks!

AliOh · 10/09/2013 20:35

Maybe ring your GP LongTailedTit if it continues for a couple of days and Its bothering you? I don't think I'd be worried, but i don't know!

Why is time going so slowly? I want to scream! 5+1 today. I'm sure im using the exhaustion as an excuse to go to sleep early and try to sleep through as much of these first few weeks as possible!!!

mrsmummytobe · 10/09/2013 20:53

Haha AliOh me too!!! I hear the 2nd trimester is the best bit - sickness stops, you have more energy, you have a little bump & best of all everyone knows you're pg!

MacCrackles · 10/09/2013 21:10

Hi everyone. Great news moomin, really, really pleased for you.

I'm afraid I don't have any advice about how much blood is ignorable longtail. Did you mention it to the mw when she called?

We told close family this weekend. Some very very excited, others' first reaction was "you are joking?" (Thanks DMIL Grin). Am also wondering if we are mad (DC3) and am dreading telling work. Still, as my dates seem to be going backwards (according to LMP calculations only 5+3 despite bfp over 2 weeks ago Hmm) I've a while before I need to tell them. Plus my eldest started school this week and a baby seems so far away!

Am now also being paranoid about mmc due to lack of symptoms . Gosh, I sound a bit doomy and gloomy don't I?

I agree with acat, I'd book in first mw appointment as early as they let you!

AliOh · 10/09/2013 21:10

Haven't really had much sickness yet mrsmummy keeping fingers crossed that it will stay away, I have an extremely strong stomach and could actually gloat that I haven't been sick since about 8 years old until the night before I got my BFP!! Couldn't believe it! I think I'm making up for the sickness in exhaustion though not long woke up from a nap and could quite easily turn in for the night now!
