Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

OP posts:

ThePFG the throbbing is horrendous! I feel your pain. Smile

moomin you'll be fine... I can remember how excited nervous I was with my first.

Just curious as to how accurate this Chinese gender prediction thingy is? Predicted I'd have a girl first time round which was correct. Alas it looks like I'll be having another girl this time round too! Would love a boy just to even things out a bit.

MacCrackles · 05/09/2013 21:04

Glad to hear you are feeling more happy Moomin.

I feel for you all feeling nauseous and/or bloated. Symptoms yet to kick in here. I wanted had to do another pt today just to reassure myself that I hadn't imagined the whole thing Grin. I'm not even feeling hungry Shock.

MacCrackles · 05/09/2013 21:06

Chinese predictor thingy got my first DCs correct so must therefore be accurate with this one being a girl!

bouncysmiley · 05/09/2013 21:07

Just noticed ever so slight bleeding. Brown tinge on a tissue. Trying not to freak out. We lost our first to eptopic. I'm sure it's fine but early to bed for me...

moominleigh94 · 05/09/2013 21:13

Hope everything's ok bouncysmiley , biiiig big hugs and lots of good luck xxx

I hope the predictor is right, means I win the bet Grin

thistlelicker · 05/09/2013 21:23

I have my scan in the morning!! Very nervous! Lots of back pain from hip to hip and I feel my boobis have been punched

moominleigh94 · 05/09/2013 21:47

Edging closer and closer to full-blown morning sickness. Been retching constantly, hurting so much Sad it's a good sign though I guess!

Lollipops have failed... bringing out the big guns. It's ginger snap time.

impatientlywaiting · 05/09/2013 22:27

Bounceysmiley try not to worry. I know it's scary, but everything we read says some form of spotting is ok. Get in touch with your GP tomorrow if its still there and they might refer you to EPAU for an early scan.

impatientlywaiting · 05/09/2013 22:28

Good luck Thistlelicker is this a private or EPAU scan? Sure everything will be fine. Let is know how it goes

thistlelicker · 05/09/2013 22:32

Epu! 9am so first in.

impatientlywaiting · 05/09/2013 22:34

Thistlelicker just realised I've missed you off the stats. Doh! What's your due date and have you already got kids?

9am is a good time. Not too much time to get nervous beforehand.

thistlelicker · 05/09/2013 22:38

Thinking around 10may! No kids x

mrsmummytobe · 05/09/2013 22:54

Just been catching up on all the chat. Welcome & congrats choppa. I just tried the Chinese birth predictor too & apparently I'm having a girl! :)

bouncysmiley hope you're ok. Fx for you!

Good luck at the scan thistlelicker - I'm jealous you're about to see and hear your baby for the first time!!

thistlelicker · 05/09/2013 22:58

Before I found out I ad bad abdo pain. I think they keen to check location!! May not hear anything as I don think I'm even 6 weeks

mrsmummytobe · 05/09/2013 23:08

Hope it all goes well thistle. Have you still got bad pain? I read somewhere that the baby at 5 weeks is about the size of a poppy seed!!

thistlelicker · 05/09/2013 23:14

No no pain for a week. I keep thinking eptopic!!! I shouldn't have
Googled!

thistlelicker · 05/09/2013 23:15

Plus my hcg isn't that high either... Well it wasn't on Saturday

Nessalina · 06/09/2013 01:58

Hi all, glad to hear things are going well! Good luck at your scan Thistle, great that they're checking you out super quick, and fx for all being fine!
Have told everyone at work now, there's only 4 of us in my branch, so decided after the Monday scan panic to just tell them - everyone was so Hmm with me for being off sick, I had to tell them I had a good excuse!!

mrsmummytobe · 06/09/2013 06:57

Can someone please reassure me?
On my cd15 this month I went to a party and ended up having a pretty heavy night out. I don't know if this was before or after I ovulated or fell pg as I wasn't tracking it. I just didn't really think I would be pregnant as my cycles had been really irregular since coming off the pill. Silly I know. Anyway, now I actually am pg I can't help worrying that I could have harmed the foetus on that night out! Do you think this is possible or am I worrying about nothing? Just scared that I could have done something to the baby!

Cupcake11 · 06/09/2013 07:14

Hi Mrs, please don't worry about it. Your baby would be nothing more than a cell by that stage. Lots of women get drunk a lot later than that before they know they're pregnant and have perfectly healthy babies.

mrsmummytobe · 06/09/2013 07:21

Thanks cupcake. I'll try & stop worrying about it!

AliOh · 06/09/2013 07:35

Mrsmummytobe, don't worry, I really didn't think we would get pg this month as its been so busy so many visitors etc, I wasn't tracking. I had a really heavy night out with some friends and got my bfp the next day, needless to say it was a complete and utter shock! There something to be said for not actually trying to get pg!

mrsmummytobe · 06/09/2013 08:02

Thanks AliOh. I've just been working myself up into a real state worrying about it, which I know can't be very good for the baby! Agh need to stop stressing!

impatientlywaiting · 06/09/2013 08:06

MrsMummy I really wouldn't worry. At that point even if you had ovulated you weren't pregnant.

Lots of people drink before they find out they are pregnant and they are fine. The placenta isn't formed until about 6 weeks. I'd read something somewhere that all the cases of fetal alcohol syndrome have occurred when mothers have drank excessively after the first trimester.

mrsmummytobe · 06/09/2013 08:28

Thanks impatiently. So if it happened before the placenta is formed does that mean it won't harm the baby/cell?!
