Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

Congratulations mrsmummytobe how exciting that you got your BFP.

Welcome to the Maybies where we are all nervous, excited and wishing away time until we reach the magical 12th week.

mrsmummytobe · 03/09/2013 17:23

Thanks impatientlywaiting :) it definitely hasn't sunk in yet! So excited though. I can't wait to have a scan and hear the heartbeat & see the baby for myself!!

biscuitnoodle · 03/09/2013 17:52

Hello mrsmummytobe, congratulations! X

YikesHereWeGo · 03/09/2013 18:29

Hello everyone, I'm enjoying reading all your updates! So sorry to hear about bug though, I hope you're ok?
Symptom-wise, I fluctuate between thinking I'm imagining being preggo and then having definite symptoms - main ones being insomnia (I usually sleep like a log), peeing a bit more frequently (although I could put that down to nipping to the loo a lot just to check everything's ok down there!) but no sore boobs (despite regular poking of them just to check).
Have managed to wangle a free early scan at 6+2 next week coz of previous troubles, but it may be a wasted journey if it's too early for a heartbeat.
I'm not doing too badly on keeping calm but like others I'm wishing the next 7 weeks away. Am planning on having the Harmony test again to check for Downs (assuming I get that far) but want to find a place other than FMC to get it done. Any suggestions for London-based clinics most welcome!
Yikes (5weeks today and counting)

homebakedflapjack · 03/09/2013 18:47

Yikes - same here, I have VERY sore boobs and did from quite early on, before I knew I was pregnant. Yesterday they really, really hurt, to the point of being beyond the pleased "ooh yay I am pregnant; my boobs hurt" and more like "OW!"

Today they haven't hurt at all Confused I am scared to test again but will tomorrow - I need FMU!

mrsmummytobe · 03/09/2013 19:29

Thanks biscuitnoodle :) When did you get your bfp?

thistlelicker · 03/09/2013 19:35

Ok my boobs are very tender today's. can't wait for Friday

Cupcake11 · 03/09/2013 19:43

Congrats and welcome to the newcomers. My boobs also feel like they're being poked with hot needles Grin
I posted this on pregnancy but haven't had any replies - last night DH sprayed a considerable amount of fly spray to kill a spider and it only occurred to me afterwards that it might have been a bad idea. I stupidly googled it and found all sorts of scary things about nervous systems and birth defects, now I'm panicking. Of course also found other stuff about there being no evidence of harm too. I'm really worried and came home from work in tears earlier - do you think I'm being silly?

bouncysmiley · 03/09/2013 20:20

Try not to worry cupcake. I'm sure no flyspray got into your system and if it did it's prob more toxic to flys than humans.if you are worried there should be a phone number on the flyspray of the company that made it. Call that and ask to speak to the chemist.

Boobs super sore here and that underlying nausea is kicking in....

LongTailedTit · 03/09/2013 21:17

Welcome newbie Maybies! :)

I'm not feeling so hot today, lots of twingey cramps this afternoon, but more like stomach trouble than periody cramps. I don't feel particularly worried, just a bit "Oh what's that", probably because I remember lots of random pains with DS. We shall see eh!

biscuitnoodle · 03/09/2013 21:27

Mrsmummytobe I only got my bfp on Sunday so its still sinking in that im pregnant. I don't really have many symptoms though

mrsmummytobe · 03/09/2013 21:59

Aww congratulations biscuitnoodle :)
My boobs are really painful & I have been feeling a bit sick. At work today I felt like everyone could tell but of course they couldn't. We're not telling anyone apart from close family about the pregnancy until after the 12 week scan but I think it's going to be so hard to keep it quiet for that long!

MacCrackles · 03/09/2013 22:00

Hello Maybies and welcome and congrats all newbies!

I am experiencing no symptoms now except slightly perkier boobs, oh yes and the annoying mid-sentence forgetting of words! I suddenly remember that I'm pregnant and have a little secret smile to myself! Feel reluctant to share our news with anyone as it just doesn't seem real!

I also seem to be going backwards re dates!! So over a week since my bfp and yet only 4+3!

Night all, must sleep (not counting requirement for sleep as a symptom nor the fact that I fell asleep on the train and probably drooled attractively because these are standard for me!).

thistlelicker · 03/09/2013 22:31

Is it normal to get back pain on the side just above the hips?

LongTailedTit · 03/09/2013 22:34

Thistle - sounds like maybe you're dehydrated? I have had similar kidney pain when I haven't kept my water levels up. Try drinking a pint of water before bed, hopefully it'll help.

I need to drink a lot more when pg, half the reason I'm already peeing twice as much as usual!

thistlelicker · 03/09/2013 22:47

Blooming sore! Missing all my
Regular pain relief !

ThePFJ · 03/09/2013 23:25

Back pain is pretty normal... your uterus is going nuts right now and it affects everything around it! I remember it from my 1st pregnancy as an early symptom. For all those with previous troubles - I hear you!! Since baby number 1 I have had 8 mc's all in a row. In the last 2 years I haven't fallen pregnant at all! So this one... I know it's the one! Paranoid? Yes!

Still wearing a big grin on my face... my uterus is having weird ... how can I describe it... not really cramps... but mini stabs and tingly sort of sensations... I am assuming its the hormones kicking it all off and everything getting ready to stretch.... its really annoying though.... I just want to lay down and sleep.... I seem to be very restless at the moment too... and headachy!

Missing my painrelief too thistlelicker....

So to all you girls who have mc'd in the past on this thread... you can unload on my shoulder if you want my darlings!

I know its only 5 weeks.... but is it too early to be looking at baby clothes and going 'Awwwwwww'?? ;)

ThePFJ · 03/09/2013 23:35

P.S. Before I try to get to sleep....
Just an insider's warning.... pop your Fabreze back in the cupboard.... it's being investigated! I love my fabreze! :(

And re: boob ache - mine comes and goes... so I am forcing myself to stop poking them as a way to check I am still pg!

impatientlywaiting · 03/09/2013 23:38

Gosh ThePFJ 8 miscarriages is heartbreaking. I can't imagine how you must have felt. You sound very positive about this one, you must be able to sense a sticky bean.

Have you checked out the posifrickinivity thread in the pregnancy section? It's for people pregnant after miscarriages. Good place to vent any irrational fears.

ThePFJ · 03/09/2013 23:40

Sorry one last thing.... Anyone else being really sneezy?? o.O

Night night xxx hugs xxx

ThePFJ · 03/09/2013 23:44

Ooooo thank you impatientlywaiting I'll check that one out! Yes I am determined to be positive and enjoy this one.... come what may I am PG now and you can't take that away from me! :)

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 04/09/2013 07:19

Morning all! I have been up most of the night with nausea. Lay on the bathroom floor for a while as the cool tiles against my face feel soothing. Now wondering what to do with my toddler today as I'd like to take him to the park but feeling so ill. Dreading work tomorrow. Also feel worried as I didn't feel this bad this early on with my first pregnancy so I keep panicking that this could be twins! Though I had aboy last time and I think girls often make you sicker so it could be a girl.

Sorry for all the complaining and welcome to the new bfps!

PixieBumbles · 04/09/2013 07:30

It may just be my imagination but I swear my boobs are looking perkier!Grin

AliOh · 04/09/2013 07:35

Hi all I got my bfp on Sunday! Did a due date calculator and I'm estimated May 12th :D it's our first baby so we're very excited but not sure what to expect! I just feel exhausted at the moment, keep waking up in the middle of the night to wee and then can't get back to sleep! Does anyone else get this early on?

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 04/09/2013 07:38

AliOh those were my first symptoms, really early. Congrats and welcome.

Pixie mine too and I'm pleased as it's detracting from my bloated tummy!
