Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

OP posts:

No no discharge! Just itch :-(

McBaby · 03/09/2013 09:21

Sounds like thrush or uti both v common during pregnancy. Go to the GP as some usual treatments like peassarys are not reccomended.

impatientlywaiting · 03/09/2013 09:57

Thistle I'm also very itchy. Not a pleasant thing. I think I've read somewhere its a symptom of early pregnancy? But maybe that's just me saying that so I don't need to go to docs. Have to call in soon with my pot of pee for them to check I'm not making it up that I'm preggo so will ask then.

Did a sneaky 3rd CB digital test today, which I shouldn't have because DH is away so would have been awful if it didn't show what I was expecting, but it changed to 3+ weeks which is where I should be, so I'm going to step away from the tests now, I promise.

5+3

PixieBumbles · 03/09/2013 10:35

I did a test yesterday (not a CB digital, just a Tesco cheapy) because I had this sudden paranoid feeling that my mind and body have just been playing tricks on me and I'm not really pregnant at all. Fortunately there was a very strong pink line which showed up almost immediately. Phew!

Got my booking appointment on Sunday. Surprised it's so early as I'll only be 6 weeks by then, but I'm not complaining!

Cupcake11 · 03/09/2013 11:41

Isn't it funny how different the care is depending on where you are in the country - you would think the NHS would have a standard practice. Maybe that's just naive of me!

Can I ask why you've tested again Pixie and Impatiently? I see a lot of people do that and I wonder if it's something you should do? I tested the day after AF was due (a First Response and a CB digital) and haven't done one since - should I do one again?

biscuitnoodle · 03/09/2013 11:50

Thanks for the sympathy, I don't want to have nausea and stuff but I think it would reassure me about the pregnancy!!

How is everyone??

impatientlywaiting · 03/09/2013 12:08

Cupcake I suppose I use it as a reassurance method. I think it's because I don't really feel any different to the way I did before I was pregnant so I have just done a few of my Internet cheap tests to see the line getting darker, and then I've done 3 CB about a week apart each time so I could see my number of weeks since conception go up so I know that my HCG is rising.

I don't think it's something you should be doing though. I think it probably just causes more anxiety even though all of mine have been good news so far. I'm going to try and keep away from them now on though.

Cupcake11 · 03/09/2013 12:13

Yes, I can see how that would be reassuring. I find lack of some symptoms worrying too, particularly not needing to pee more which seems to be the one that almost everyone gets but I haven't at all.

impatientlywaiting · 03/09/2013 12:17

I don't need to pee more either. Maybe I feel a bit nauseous on a night but its really mild and I'm not convinced its really pregnancy related as opposed to just being tired.

The time seems to be going so slowly! Can't wait until we've reached 12 weeks.

Cupcake11 · 03/09/2013 12:21

Oh, I'm pleased it's not just me. I've seen so many, 'I've got no symptoms except peeing more..' posts it was beginning to freak me out!

I'll second the time going slowly too - it feels like the run up to Christmas Wink

Cupcake11 · 03/09/2013 12:23

Plus, even if your nausea was caused be tiredness, tiredness in itself is a symptom Smile

impatientlywaiting · 03/09/2013 12:27

Yes I do think I'm more tired, but apart from achey boobs I don't think I have anything else.

I think that I honestly go to the toilet maybe 3 or 4 times a day max. Sometimes I can be awake for a few hours before I need to go for my first wee. I probably don't drink enough water though.

biscuitnoodle · 03/09/2013 12:36

Cupcake, it is really the run up to Christmas isn't it because 12 weeks will come at the beginning of Nov won't it? Which is almost Christmas!!

ThePFJ · 03/09/2013 12:54

Hi everyone... I just found out I am due the 12th of May!! This will be my second child, my first is 5. A few years ago I was ill and I suffered a few mc's but now I am hoping this is the one!! All is well so far and my 2 positive tests are sat on the kitchen table staring up at me :) Can't wait to have a Christmas bump and to have everyone ELSE cook the dinner LOL.... Love to you all xxxxxxxxx

impatientlywaiting · 03/09/2013 13:03

Congratulations ThePFJ on your BFP. I've added you along with Rushyswife, biscuitnoodle, and Thunderbumsmum to the stats thread. Hope I haven't missed anyone else out?

May is going to be a busy month. Our latest due date is 14/5/14 so far and we already have 31 Maybies.

ThePFJ · 03/09/2013 13:20

Teehee.. We are already calling this one a Maybee!! Thanks soo much for adding me :) I am soo excited :)

ThePFJ · 03/09/2013 13:31

Pregnancy vitamins are go! :P

ThunderbumsMum · 03/09/2013 13:32

bugs I was s sorry to see your post. I hope you are feeling ok.

impatientlywaiting thanks for adding me to the stats. I have updated with my EDD.

PixieBumbles · 03/09/2013 15:09

cupcake I've had various symptoms but I couldn't shake the horrible paranoid feeling that it was all just some awful mistake, which is why I did the further test. I just wanted reassuring even though I knew I had textbook pregnancy symptoms.

Cupcake11 · 03/09/2013 15:22

Thanks Pixie, I guess we're all looking for reassurance, no matter what our symptoms are. I've booked a private scan for two weeks time - I'm hoping if I can hear a nice healthy heartbeat it will put my mind at ease.

On another topic, can anyone help clear this up for me? The first day of my last period was 22nd July but my cycle is 31 days. Do I count my pregnancy from the 22nd which would make me 6+2?

When I put my details, including cycle length, into NHS due date calculator it says I'm due 1st May and I'm 5 weeks something pregnant.

Not that it really matters I suppose but it would be nice to know how far along I am.

McBaby · 03/09/2013 16:26

Last time they dated from first day if my period even though I have cycles of 34 days. Apparently they know better than you! So I would count yourself as 6w2d

Allypallyjelly · 03/09/2013 16:35

Congrats new BFPers!
Hey impatiently, congrats I saw your post re CBD. That's good! Just stop testing now though before u go crazy thinking about it. Also same with me I did tonnes of test but have since stopped. Same here re diminishing symptoms. I still have insomnia and wake up to pee. Last night had some v mild curry and had the worst heartburn and then threw up when I got home. Other than that, I still have similar but maybe just slightly swollen boobs n that's it!!
Got a call from my midwife today to say blood test done last Tuesday at 5wks came back good but my urine sample has some cultures and will need to be re-done! I asked her re my hcg level but she isn't able to answer me?!?! I have another private scan this Sunday. Fingers crossed we can see the bean and also if we are really lucky some heartbeats! praying

Cupcake11 · 03/09/2013 16:39

Thanks Mcbaby - sorry worked that out wrong, I'm 6+1 in that case.

ACatCalledBrian · 03/09/2013 16:48

Welcome to all the new Maybies! I'm having trouble working out exactly how far gone I am too Cupcake, my last period was 25th July so I think that makes me 5+5?

Has anyone else got an irrational fear of doing something to the baby? I cycle to work and every time I go over a bump in the road I panic about it causing something to happen. Doctor and NHS direct site both say it's fine for my to cycle, but that doesn't seem to have stopped me worrying...

mrsmummytobe · 03/09/2013 17:10

Hi everyone, please can I join? I just got my bfp this morning! Think I'm about 4 weeks pregnant but not exactly sure as I wasn't tracking ovulation & my periods were quite irregular! According to the nhs calculator I'm due 11th may!!! :)
