Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

Truffkin · 02/09/2013 15:33

So sorry to hear that Bug and I hope you are back on a new thread very soon xxx

Pixie I had a (scarily!) similar scenario with my first pregnancy when I told a friend in the same situation. We were due to meet for lunch so I called her the week before and told her over the phone. She really struggled to hear it and we didn't stay on for long. She emailed me a couple of days later to say she had found the call difficult but was glad to know in advance and when we were not face to face and that she was happy for me and would deal with her own feelings as we went along. Hope all goes well for you and don't forget it is hard for you too, to play down your own happiness and balance both situations.

We are planning to keep the news to ourselves until 12 weeks. We told my Mom, PiLs and BiL & SiL at 6 weeks last time but feel the need for a bit more privacy this time round. I also want our DS to be able to understand before we tell anyone else and am not risking saying anything to him until I'm comfortable with the possibility of him blurting it out to a random stranger Wink

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 02/09/2013 16:39

So sorry bug Flowers.

Oh bug.

biscuitnoodle · 02/09/2013 18:45

Hey guys, I got my bfp yesterday. This is my second pregnancy and I have almost no symptoms compared to last time, is that normal??

PostmanPatPat · 02/09/2013 19:04

So sorry to hear your news bug Sad

PostmanPatPat · 02/09/2013 19:05

Congrats on the bfp biscuitnoodle

This is my second pregnancy too, the only symptoms I have so far are nausea and vomiting. I feel your pain Jelly, hope today went ok after the coke remedy!

I have told one friend so far, not ready to tell anyone else yet as need to get my head around the news first. But will probably tell our parents soon and wait until the 12 week scan is ok before telling others.

homebakedflapjack · 02/09/2013 20:27

Bug, MASSIVE hugs. If it isn't too painful, please pop in - and let us know when you do get a bfp Flowers

Can I ask some advice on doctors? I recently moved house, and haven't signed up with a doctor yet. Do I "announce" my pregnancy immediately, at my first appointment, or let them do their usual height and weight and make a subsequent appointment? Not really sure of the equitette!

Nessalina · 02/09/2013 20:54

Hey Maybies Smile
Gutted to hear your news bug, sending you lots of positive baby-vibes for a sticky bean very very soon! Flowers
I went for my scan today after spotting yesterday and today, and I'm pleased to say that all looked good! Teeny tiny blob with a heartbeat. A bit shell-shocked really, but so so happy Smile

Truffkin · 02/09/2013 21:07

Welcome Biscuit and much sympathy, this is my second too and I'm feeling decidedly unpregnant even though I am!

Nessa great news! Such an exciting and emotional moment Grin

bugoven · 02/09/2013 21:09

ness that's amazing news! Good to hear and makes me so hopeful for if I spot again in my future, iminent pregnancy. I will pop by and let you all know how I'm getting on X

impatientlywaiting · 02/09/2013 21:41

Brilliant news Nessa, heartwarming after Bugs awful news today. This pregnancy stuff is an emotional roller-coaster isn't it!

PixieBumbles · 02/09/2013 21:52

bugoven so sorry to hear your news Thanks Sending lots of good vibes your way.

Just called my best friend. I think I'm more of an emotional wreck about it than she was! I timed it well as her husband had just got home and she was about to open a bottle of wine. She took it very well and was very grateful that I called her, which apparently is more than her own brother did when his partner got pregnant! Although she did say how pleased she was a few too many times for me to think she was totally fine with the idea...

MacCrackles · 02/09/2013 21:57

Great to hear Nessa.

Flapjack do you have to have an introductory appointment when going to a new Drs? I would register and then ask to see the midwife for a booking in (?) appointment, bypass the Dr as they don't (IME) get involved so early. This is what I've done anyway and relatively new to Dr practice, however I could be wrong (it does happen Wink).

Rushyswife · 02/09/2013 21:58

Hello!

bug sorry to hear your news. I think you are being really brave.

Please can I join? I got my bfp a couple of days ago. App thing is saying May 14 as a due date. This is #2 for me and so far I feel v similar to first pregnancy. I am v tired but that is nothing new as I chase about after a toddler! I have also got a bit of bloating, permanently need to pee and today I have had mild nausea!
First day back at work after the summer tomorrow. I hope I too busy to notice how rough I feel!

Nessalina · 02/09/2013 21:59

Glad to hear it went ok Pixie, I'm sure she is genuinely happy for you, she'll just be gutted that she isn't on the baby train with you, fx for her treatment going well!

impatientlywaiting · 02/09/2013 22:07

Pixie glad to hear that your friend wasn't too upset. I think in these situations you can definitely feel two ways at the same time - genuinely pleased that her best mate is pregnant but still hearing the why isn't it me voice in the back of her head. The hard but is over now, sure her excitement will take over now she knows about it.

Welcome Rushy, have you added your info to our stats thread? We keep due dates etc in there. Think there is a link to it somewhere in this thread or you should see it in the antenatal threads.

bouncysmiley · 02/09/2013 22:46

Really sorry bug I really feel for you. Stay strong and positive. My first pregnancy was eptopic and it was awful but i had some great friends and family and we were lucky enough to get pregnant again remarkably quickly. Sending positive vibes that it happens super fast for you too.
